Seems like your cute top could easily be duped! Best wishes for an easy sew! Love the Harpers! I live in a Hallmark seaside town in Japan. My neighbors all have gardeners who trim those Japanese gardens like in botanical gardens in the US. It is not a “honey do” job here! It is truly an artistic endeavor to trim trees here. We have a single pine waiting for a trim but all gardeners are extremely busy. My neighborhood is a surfers delight, with all new housing built with outdoor showers, of course. New housing is built one by one in between older homes. Land is very valuable so old homes are torn down to accommodate new ones. Everyone walks or bicycles, with a daily parade of tiny children walking home from school and with moms on bicycles made to carry two children, front and rear, as they take them to nursery school. Mothers work really really hard here! We have surfing, etc, year round with maybe a day of snow each winter. So another common sight is surfers riding bikes to the beach carrying their boards on special rack on the side of their bikes or motorcycles. My sewing room is on the front of our home so I can watch as neighbors, young and old, head over to the beach for sunsets as well as sunrises. We have beautiful sunsets as our beach faces west towards majestic Mt Fuji. Right now I’ve been procrastinating making some seasonal banners my sister has requested. I’ve made quite a collection for her over the years. While procrastinating, I’m doing so alterations to my spring/summer wardrobe but will eventually get to make some white tops to add to my wardrobe. Can’t wait! Thanks for your delightful chats with us! Suzanne ❤

Hi Stephanie, love your duster cardigans, I love the Harper cardigan, I've made three in the last two weeks, such an easy pattern. I haven't made the duster length yet but after seeing yours they are on my list to make next 🙂. We don't have what I would call hallmark towns here in the UK but I live in a small rural town and I love it, would love to see some photos of where you live. Hope the bear finds a new home soon and leaves your garbage alone. Happy sewing this week xx

Small towns!!! Are all part of the joy of road trips I love to take. I particularly enjoy visiting my daughter and gkids in "cottage country" Ontario. I fly in, rent a car and spend my time driving to get to their place and all around the area. Last year I brought a granddaughter with me to visit her cousins. It was a great time. This summer in planning on throwing a fifth wheel or pull trailer on her acreage, as a base. Can't wait for summer. I love retirement and gkids in 3 completely different areas in 🇨🇦.

Hi Stephanie, love your channel and look forward to seeing you on Friday. We have bears that wonder into the yard as well. My husband and I are trying to make healthy changes in our lifestyle also. I saw a video showing your essential oils and I have been using them for about 11 years and love them. For the past few weeks, we have been following the Mediterranean eating plan and are loving it. We feel better and it is helping with lower inflammation which causing a lot of health issues. Getting older comes with a lot of health issues that we are trying to avoid. Today is our 50th anniversary, just had to add that.

I always look forward to your vlog on Friday! I have actually made another dress. I finished it last night. New Look 6095, it’s a simple shift dress. Kind of a boring dress but it suits my no curve shape. I’m on a shift dress kick and plan on making a few more to find the perfect pattern.

Those cardigans are so cute! Not surprised if you want to keep them 😊. Thanks for the Bear photo, that was awesome and scary all at the same time. Re food, having just come back from two weeks in Florida, I don't know how you could possibly eat healthily out in your restaurants😂. So much of the food we ate is either loaded with salt or sugar, even the veg was dripping in butter 🤣. If we got a salad then it is doused in dressing, we couldn't win. The funny thing is when we return home all our food is so bland as we had been used to the extra salt. I think anyone in the US has a very hard task on their hands to eat completely healthily so you are doing an amazing job. Great that you have discovered some sneaky bad foods and will be wary of them in future. For the record, I eat ok but I love my sweet things, I'm certainly not perfect 😂 ❤. Thanks for sharing .

Hi Carole, thanks, I’m going to see if I can get some more of that black today, and make this again! You are so right. The food here is literally poison. And it’s so much more than just food. Yikes! Everyone I know is talking about it too. I’m so ready for fresh grown food. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Yes, the bear is scary…there is so much wildlife out there. I was going to get cameras, but I’m not sure I want to know!!! 😮🤣 Hugs! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great video, thanks Stephanie! Your mom and aunt will love their Harpers :) I’m excited to see your greenhouse AND your daughter’s apron! We don’t live in a Hallmark small town, but I love reading/hearing about them. I’m working on an Emma blouse muslin for my granddaughter (SewFrugal24). Have a lovely weekend!

Could it be a female bear who could either be pregnant or is looking for food for her baby? Oh I am all about getting rid of those more toxic items in my home, yard and garden!! We spent most of March getting away from winter in a warmer state, mostly in our camper. It was a long time to be gone, esp missing my grandkids!! Good to be back home!! when you go away in the winter and come back in the spring, it’s amazing how much work is at home waiting for you! The movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray was filmed in our little town up here in northern Illinois. There have been more movies filmed in town and around this area because it is a unique and pretty place. I hate paying the taxes but I’m glad we don’t live in the suburbs anymore. You always inspire me to sew. Your cardigans look lovely. God bless, Peggy

I live in Philadelphia - not a small town, so I am always enjoying the chance to visit one, although there is certainly much to like about our city and the neighborhood where I grew up felt just like a small town so I feel like I've had the experience. The cardigans are great - bet you'll be making some for yourself now that you can get back to some "selfish sewing" 😁! Did your spring flowers make it through the snow last week?

Hi Stephanie! I love those cardigans! Now you’ll have to make yourself a long black one and navy one, so you won’t feel sad about giving them up! 😊I’m really itching to get started sewing summer things…dresses and tops and shorts. I really love the outfit you’re wearing today in this video. Peekaboo shoulders are my favorite. I’m still working on building my greenhouse. It’s been too windy this past week to get the plastic up, but I managed to get the plastic up on one end. I have a question about Bears. I don’t know if you plan to grow any vegetables in your greenhouse, but will the bears break into your greenhouse to eat it? We have bears in southern Missouri where I am at, but they are pretty rare to see and I am halfway, kind a sort of, Worried about bears breaking into my mostly food containing greenhouse. Is your greenhouse plastic or does it have glass walls? Thank you for this video, I really enjoyed seeing your happy face! 😊

Yes! I do want to make those cardis again. Especially the black one. I’m going to see if Joann still has that fabric. Our green house will have plastic windows. I’ve never heard of a bear breaking in to a garden, but they can do whatever they want. 😮 there’s always garbage somewhere for them. They are scavengers. 🐻

No, but it has a little band at the top that is slightly smaller than the pocket. I think that’s what keeps it from drooping. Never thought about it. How smart! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

You definitely live in a Hallmark town. Most towns up your way are Hallmark-ish. Aptos still has some Hallmark qualities but not like up in your area.
