Australia in WWII had at one point over 10% of the total population under arms. And that's not counting the people employed in war-time production. Of a population of around 7 million 730000 people were in the armed branches and let's not forget that those 7 million include children, elderly and women. Of all those groups only a small percentage was directly in the armed forces, so about 50% of the men in fighting age were indeed fighting. For obvious reasons that wasn't sustainable, especially the lack of skilled labour put an immense strain on the economy so the first moment that the government thought the Japanese threat to the homeland wasn't imminent they downsized the armed services by about 40%. It's still crazy that a country with a population this tiny at one point had an army that nearly rivals that of today's PRC army in manpower.

Every once in a while the "meta people" pick Allies. 9/10 games are a complete stomp because these people form a group and only play together.

Well not everyone can be the best at a game. Dankus has thousands of hours. Maybe the UK only has a couple hundreds. It's a game not a tournament, it's whatever. We all started somewhere.

I also understand if they are new to the mod, or first time on UK with the mod, etc, but it is still annoying for everyone else on the team if the major is throwing like that.

There’s only so far “inexperience” can excuse your acts, beyond that you are throwing or just stupid and should not play mp outside of a close friend group vs AI so you can learn to play properly

@@katra5673True, but you’d think in a game with a mod like this that a player on UK would have many, many hours. Hell, I played Germany in a casual game with a few randos in the HOI4 discord, and I had to claw my way to play because I had only 450 hours. Granted I ate shit that game, mostly because it was 1 am and I was exhausted, but still.

Dankus losing hair because his HOI addiction has made him ignore hygiene and the stress gained shaved atleast 25 years off of his life.

There is bombing from UK and US and other majors. Then you can use siege artillery against forts which basically removes them since you get iirc a 3pp% bonus to attacks. Then you can use green air and Cas to get another bonus. Then stack Intel to remove their entrenchment and they only have the defense buff from the mountains without anything else. For naval forts you can use shire bombardment for a25% debuff for the enemy and use previously mentioned strats to make them easier to invade Also italy isn't the best place to hold out. Yes you have the alps and sea but you are also need to defend more land against naval invasions and the keep holding the alps. Also depending in whether or not the mod you may use has the balance of power, you may get a civil war because you lost Sardinia and africa. Overall, you can pull it off but you will never break out or be able to actually do something. Just take the med and make a good dday wall.
