for those who dont know, splatoon 3 matches are peer to peer, meaning that one of the 4 or 8 consoles in a lobby is selected as the "host console", meaning everyones internet speed and stability relies on that host. So if that host has poop internet, everyone has poop internet. Its why you would see some matches having more than 50% of the lobby disconnect.

For me, Splatoon is most fun when I am with friends and we can laugh together. Playing alone makes me angry and upset. My old Splatoon group turned out to be super transphobic so I left them. Now I don't have many friends to play with, and the ones I do are busy people who don't play often, and when they can they don't voice chat. It's lonely.

Yeah that's the same with me the game is super fun when I play it with other people, but only two of my friends have it and the rest refuse to get it so I got to try to find people online and I live in Australia so the majority of English speakers are in the wrong region with too much latency

I never had a Wii u and I feel in love with Splatoon since I saw some of Splatoon 1 trailers, I just watched other people played while I just stood there with the wish of one day I'll be getting that change too, I lost the track and interest when Splatoon 2 went out, then I got my switch and my friend told me about Splatoon 3 premiere, you guys can guess how happy I was, my inner child was finally filled with joy I know it's not the same but I will enjoy the last second of one the games I've always wanted to play since I was little, I still and will always love Splatoon💛🥺

I kind of miss the vibe of the first Splatoon, Octolings were going to take over the world, we had a crazy grandpa buddy telling me I did a Jolly good job. It was much more urban, the training area was actually outside in the city somewhere hidden, I loved that feeling you got. You had the skateparks, the battle areas just looked more in tune with where you'd hold a turf war. The single player wasn't in a desert or frozen sad area. You could jump to every site without the game having to load you there. The music was more rock, underground, funky, weird. I wish they would incomperate that. I want my characters to feel like they are at a forbidden area where other inklings did some grafitti and hang around. Not a Cruise boat, or a resort or in a distant desert where Goku is going to fight his next enemy T____T (there are many good areas in SP3 but some I think just are out of touch) I wan't more interaction with the Idols. Let them have some special events that we actually can engage with them and where they give us maybe exclusive weapons and clothes. Some fun minigames we can play together with online players, like maybe some one zipcaster and we have to splat him, but he has advantages to climb, or maybe also have battles where the person who splats the most gets the most points instead of only painting the most. I don't know, I just feel like there's a lot of potential, just not being utlized

The specials are more balanced which means less bullshit which means less fun. Kraken in splatoon 1 felt fun because of how powerful it made you feel. Now it just feels very clunky, you have to take into account startup and ending lag instead of just going for it. Stages are cramped, the colors aren't popping because of the "chaos" theme even though they abandoned it

Not true, rivals of Aether is an incredibly balanced game and you feel powerful playing it, whereas splatoon 2 is horribly unbalanced AND you feel like shit playing it

great content, definately subbing. the thing that has kept me playing for 8 years has been the raw gameplay elements and the drive to push the diverse weapon options and strategies as far as i can. i suggest taking breaks from the game to explore some high quality gaming experinces such as dishonored, elden ring, bioshock, cruelty squad, ultrakill, superhot mcd, and the like. games like these make me appreciate splatoon's unique gameplay more. additionaly, play splatana stamper if you haven't. extremely difficult to get a good handle on, but it's the best desined weapon in the series and brings the game to a different level (vanilla kit). remember, zipcaster is not a special that DOES something. it gives you the ability to do great things, but it's all up to you and your skill and patience. this is relevant to zipcaster more than any other special. also run a lot of main saver for stamper, you can look at top player's builds to figure out how much works for you. combo synergy is the key to success with stamper.

@@veryepic2 cool, try ballpoint too. also, if there's any one game to suggest it's dishonored. that game changed my perspective on games in general, i'd suggest to anyone who has even a mild interest in video games of that category. damage quantities and enemy awareness feels the most realistic/reasonable on the highest difficulty, keep in mind. game was so good it changed the way i saw and played splatoon somehow, highly reccomend.

I feel like the updates really killed s3. Things are very predictable if u were there for s2's updates. While s2 got very mind blowing. I can nitpick with the balance of things where a lotta specials like reedslider had potential to be amazing that Nintendo just ruined making it a panic button and zones cheese when they could have made it shread bombs, usable in a superjump and make weapons and bombs combo with the explosion at the end by making the lag at the end shorter and more invincible or something, since right now it explodes and you just die from the end lag and a bomb or someone shooting at you when you can't do anything. This applies to a ton of s3's specials tho. Kits in this game, while I feel like they are a lot better than s2, it feels like there's not many top tier kits. Where most weapons at their best got a decent kit, nothing crazy and a second neiche kit that's fun and good for casual play or something shit like reef deco. Very few weapons got a kit like ballpoint and splash. Maybe it'll change with 3rd kits if we get them but it shouldn't take this long to get 2nd kits, we prob aren't getting enough 3rd kits to fix things. It'll prob feel very similar to s2's 3rd kits in quantity with a varying quality. Overall splatoon 3 feels like a really good game (gameplay wise) with a ton of missed potential, where at it's peak update wise, felt similar to Splatoon 2 which made it feel really bland.

Everyone isn't fun anymore. No one squid bags and if they do, its just to annoy you. No one wants to make squid parties or anything like that. There are only little people who do it and its mostly turf war players. They high ranks don't even know what squid bagging is anymore and if someone does it, they will get really mad at them for not focusing on the game (which is reasonable I guess). Splatoon has just lost its fun....

imo, splatoon 3 can get boring very fast, it just doesnt feel as fun and colourful and the first 2 games. i started playing splatoon 2 in 2021, and it was great, the colours were more vibrant, the players were less toxic, and the characters (agent 3, agent 8, marina and pearl, etc.) are generally just better. deep cut isnt that cool for me and they dont have much lore or anything that gives them much character. shiver has become hated because she keeps winning splatfests, frye is hated on for her forehead which is a very dumb reason, and big man just feels like a backround character. splatoon 2s graphics felt so much more lively, not to mention the music in s2 is way better then s3 music. dont get me wrong, splatoon 3 is a great game, but it doesnt feel fun anymore.

Both games kinda do some things better. S2's kit quantity is a lot more, while (arguably) s3's kit quality is better. Graphics can honestly go either way, s2's does look better, but s3's lighting makes the game a lot more clear. music is subjective, i think s3's is unique and improving on other band styles (take yoko & gold bazookas < broken coral) which imo is slightly better. But the main killer is kinda the lack of support. Even if it is 3 month big update dumps the distance and gap between feel crazy long and boring

Yeah.. I haven’t touch Splatoon 3 since like this September. I think it’s partially because of Nintendo Switch Online + developed anxiety + the lack of casual creators playing Splatoon as often as before. Compared to Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3’s main US spokespeople are competitive players, and there’s more focus on *the meta,* weapon releases, and comp layouts. I feel like this has hindered interest in the game as a majority of Splatoon’s sales were generated by casual players. Omg, I forgot to include splatfest! The last one I joined was the chocolate one 💀. Splatfest used to be so fun and way less toxic in Splatoon 2. + 66% of the fan base didn’t end up losing every time it occured like in Splatoon 3.

No matter what game you play, it will always eventually become boring. Whether it be lack of updates, lack of more things to do, losing interest, or even finding a better game, every game gets like that eventually. It's best to just take a break from it. Days, weeks, months, years, it doesn't matter how long that break it. Eventually, when you hop back on after all that time, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! It'll feel like you're playing a new game you just got! (Sometimes, you just never want to play the game even after breaks and that's okay!) From my experience, I got very bored of playing tons of my games. Mostly my Switch and Wii games. It's mainly becuase I'm a completionist and always 100% the game, leaving me with nothing else to do. (I'll never 100% Splatoon 3 and that's a fact LMAO) Although, after a few months of not playing, I like to play those games again. I sometimes still retain some elements of the stories if they have one, but the gameplay feels unique just like I'm playing a new game! It feels fun and I constantly want to keep playing. Of course, this won't be how everyone experiences things, but sometimes a break helps! Also, love the video! Great editing and commentary. I've been seeing a lot of small splatubers on my recommendations that should honestly be big ones and I love that I'm getting them on there. Keep up the good work!

What's really killing Splatoon is just the lack of manpower at the studio making it. They don't have the time or ability to make the games better so they don't get better. They do however keep wanting to do something that's a bigger scope than the previous game, so it just leads to them trying to take a step forward but falling back down three steps

Others people are surprised when I say I do anarchy or X battles for funsies. I absolutely love the competitive side of splatoon, even if, sometimes it infuriating to lose 10 matches in a go. It brings me the adrenaline, the joy of winning by very little, it allows me to perfectionnise what I thought I masterized and it bring importance to the match again (at least to me). An important match is one you're invested in, where you try your best and... To me, it's just not here in turf. The same goes for salmon now! With big runs and over fishing, it's really rewarding and fun to try to get as much as possible from every match and become a better player to, maybe, face the best one day.

When you stumble upon that kind of situation, you need to save it because I feel like people won't trust you if you told them you played with the best of the best when yourself you're not that much of a pro xD Lately I've got my ass whooped so I fell to 18xx power but I'm still motivated to go back up ! Good video! For anyone looking for a good challenge in this game- this one takes a TON of endurance, but go for 1* every weapon! It’s super fun, and I even decided to go the extra mile once I finished and get 2* of the everything (tho I wouldn’t recommend that, it’s a ton of work for things you don’t like to play)

Friends definitely. Ranking up without a pal is hell. With a pal, even if we lose, it's fun to me as we both lament and celebrate together. Alas, apparently that isn't enough to some people. My friend has a competitive heart and she gets salty nonetheless. At that point, the answer to having fun again is to stop forcing yourself to have fun when there's no way to. There's plenty of other games to play. Especially I think for Splatubers, they must've exhausted the things they can do in the game to wring out various contents. They must've explored the game in waaaay more ways than an average person. Like hell of course it's gonna get boring.

I guess some i dislike with splatoon 3 is that you need to be constaly there or you will miss out. You can hardly take a break from the game and it feels more like a shore needing to grind for the catalog cuz who knows if any of the items will come back? Same with evens , specially challenges. Oh u where busy that day? too bad now its gone! Like man i feel more like i HAVE to play rather than want to play.

Played splat 3 alot when it came out, was so excited when they brought .96 gal deco back, and kraken in general. Then i started climbing to the top of x rank with splash and .96. After that, i kinda got bored of grinding for gear and stuff. Still kinda upset i grew out of this game, if the release some new kits i really like (like naut with something good) then ill def come back but i grew up with this game and im a little sad it doesnt captivate me like it once did.

I always found that taking occasional breaks helps a ton with making the game feel fresh again, but it’s true that fun is subjective for everyone. What I like best about splatoon is collecting all the gear and looking like a fashion icon, the actual gameplay is what I do when listening to podcasts lol

I don’t play splatoon that much more (only since like 5 days ago though) and it’s mostly because a 7-year update to one of my favourite games just dropped, but also because of HORRIBLE matchmaking. I mainly play salmon run and i’m tired of having to ask people on discord if they can play, and hope they are good and we play good together. But when i DO get teammates w/ the same skill as me it’s the most fun i’ve ever had, so i really hope nintendo makes matchmaking better. Also the video was great, and the editing! :)

thanks! bro the matchmaking is bonkers, i know glicko2 (the matchmaking system) in theory is great but sometimes you have the one teammate that somehows gets negative kdr, like don't let the poor man play against div x players

I can give you some advise, at around sizzle seson i lost all fun in splatoon 3. I stoped playing becouse of it. But after some time I got idea, what if i will use something completly difrent, new outfit for my octoling, weapon of a class i never used (splatling for me) that had kit with weapons none of my mains had, and try to use this sub a lot like mist, with completly new intersting special like kraken, inkjet, this sliding shark thing, and to make completly new strategy, or completly none of it. If you are too lazy to do it tho just play splatoon 1 with weapons that have special that no other game has

3:05 man this hits hard because i was thinking these exact thoughts while playing this morning. i used to be able to have a blast while getting horribly destroyed in clam blitz solo. now i tilt way easier and the game just doesn't hit right without someone else on call. really well edited video btw!

I went back to Splatoon 2 for a bit bc 3 has felt a bit boring for me, and honestly I dont regret playing 2 for a while bc I can finally use the octo shot again and I felt the nostalgia and it was great Also, this video was a really fun watch! For me, splatoon stopped becoming fun ever so slowly after online became a subscription, I used to be able to play whenever I wanted and that caused me to spend hundred of hours in the games! Now whenever I buy online it feels like an obligation to spend my money's worth of fun then I became a college student and barely had time to play, so i stopped paying for online, and in turn stopped playing splatoon 💔

I think it's terrible because Splatoon 3 ambiance is amazing and at the same time there's something off. The way to Idols are all different from each other design wise, their spaltfest song and other stuff makes the overall ambiance super cool But the way those same Idol have very little importance to our agent make them less when... They just deserves better Like they were practically comic relief in the story mode. After how we saved the world with Pearl and Marina, or all the time we spent with Oly looking for Ayo, itbfeels... Way less. Makes me sad Gameplay-wise I'm mostly confused about what the devs are doing with weapons. We have 3000 basic chargers and... Why is there still only 4 bows and katana. Come on go crazy over you two new babies please why are they left out like the middle child? At least you tried things with the brellas and double... Double chargers? (non-english speaker here) in your last opus. That's my only problem with the game as anything else is just so cool Edit because I DIDN'T MEAN CHARGERS. I mean the... The basic weapon. Like the one you start with. Not knowing english splatoon term is a pain gosh. But you got it like you know there's 3000 variation of that basic weapon in Splatoon 3 rn meanwhile we have 10 rolles 12 dualies (I rember the name) and two bows. And it's bothering me. That's it. Also I just found you through your spaltoon featuring mental health video and I'm still in existential crisis thinking about it because what. How can a simple turf war represent... Everything? XD

Looking at your play style, and the amazing editing, i legit thought you were some popular/pro player! Safe to say i was shocked to only see 800~ subs hah I agree with all your points-- for me, playing solo feels bland and empty. I've given myself challenges, (5 star weapons, a salmon run goal to get 30 gold scale..), but it still isn't as fun as it was I still enjoy and play the game basically every day, but i remember years back in Splatoon 2 when I'd wake up earlier on weekdays, just to get 1-2 rounds of turf in before school And even farther back, when i saved up for years to get a used Wii-U, and used Splatoon 1 disk. Anyway, loved this video and the points. Now off i go to get more Splatoon clips for my next KZread video! 😅

for me its the complete removal of being able to do casual play using any weapon you want and allways having fights be mostly faire 50/50s and the kill based on skill splatoon 2 felt like you had a about 70/30 win rate but splatoon 3 just feels like a compeditive only game whit a about 70% loss rate whit mid music at best and very few good experiences and times in the multiplayer modes the only thing i have enjoyed so far in the year of splatoon 3 is storymode and salmon run which i enjoyed in splatoon 2 allready so it dident make a difrence... the multiplayer modes just feel boring your allways dead on the respawn screen instead of genuenly playing the game most the time

interesting take, you are right s3 feel more competitive because theres a lot of "fighting" weapons. if you like the slower s2 style you can try things like jet squelcher, flingza, or other paint heavy support weapons. maybe for you its finding a playstyle

you can avoid dying by being better at combat or picking a good survivability weapon like 52 gal its more competitive because splatoon 2 was absolute ass in some areas so they're trying to not have another splatoon 2 situation.

the one thing that is fair is some of the specials arent fun to die to, some of them feel like "i died to x" instead of "i died to player" so maybe if we had MORE INKJET AND ZIP WEAPONS this wouldnt be a problem! Except nintendo isnt doing that
