I made pottery for my family: a cozy day in my ceramics studio and their surprising reactions!

Ойын-сауық

Happy new year! It's finally time for the reveal of my salt cellar gifts that I was making for my family. I'm really happy with the glaze I mixed up and am excited to keep experimenting with it. And I think the gifts turned out really nice too-I would love to know what you guys think, so leave a comment below!

    thanks. also I'd personally be interested to hear about your journey. I suppose you're self taught? you've discovered pottery and started pursuing it in a community studio. how did you learn, how did you come to the decision to establish your own space? how do you fire? how did you choose your equipment. how long did it take you to reach your level. I'd love to hear your whole story :)

    Just found your channel, your pots are perfect and I like your videos. What tongs are you using? I’m in Australia and I’ve never seen ones like that but I’m intrigued.

    Thank you so much! 🙂 the tongs I actually don’t recommend. They’re a chinese model and I wanted to test it out. They’re flimsier than I expected and didn’t even hold my bowls well!

    wow. I am also in my blue and white era with my pottery. Mainly using cobalt carbonate. It’s so hard to paint with them. What did you use for the blue paint?

  • @studiotomby

    @studiotomby

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes pure cobalt is impossible to see haha! I’m using 4:3:2:1 parts manganese dioxide, cobalt carbonate, red iron oxide, and dry porcelain. Try it out!
