So let me clarify your argument because I think several people including myself are having some difficulty making sense of what you are implying. You are defining "made" to mean produced from raw materials? Because what quite a few of us seem to believe is that "Made" means = Produced a product which did not previously exist... You know like... literally every auto manufacturer in the world. You think Toyota goes out and mines their aluminum and molds their own plastics? Or in simpler terms that you might understand. Before this video there was no water block that cooled VRAM and GPU core available for Jay to use.. and after the video there was.. BECAUSE HE MADE IT!!

You make this stuff look so easy. I've never done custom water cooling before and watching enough of these videos is giving me a false sense of confidence still, this is amazing stuff. it's nice to know parts are basically milled the same and so there are options for custom water cooling on day 0 graphics cards.
@RyTrapp0
5 жыл бұрын
What he did here was pretty damn easy actually - mostly just because the gods of hardware aligned the planets so that all of this random shit that he used just miraculously all happened to worked together LOL. As far as liquid cooling in general and the 'complexity/difficulty' of it, it's all in your head. PC liquid cooling is MUCH easier than, say, doing general maintenance on your car(oil changes, brake changes, etc.) - which it self is typically pretty easy even for a first timer if you just follow a how-to. At the end of the day, it's just parts and pieces, and they're all designed to work together, just like how a bolt screws right into a nut. I'm a total gearhead that has built engines, modified suspensions, built some track cars, so, when I got into enthusiast PC stuff, I was kinda surprised by how people viewed liquid cooling. Frankly, it's child's play compared to building an engine, but I taught my 16 year old nephew to build his first engine two years ago(and right now I'm helping him build his first drag car to drop it in), so anyone can learn this stuff if they really want to(I'm self taught myself). And, we're talking about something MUCH easier than that. So, look at it this way; whether it's building engines or liquid cooling PCs, there are 10s of thousands of people all around the world that are doing this stuff just as a hobby, a fun project, so, if they can do it, why can't you? If they can do it without blowing their stuff up, how hard is it REALLY? What you're actually worried about is just the unknown, you don't have first hand knowledge of how easy it is, so your mind just goes straight to assuming that it's easier to kill your computer than it is to liquid cool it successfully, without someone holding your hand. If it's something that you're legitimately interested, then watch some how-to videos on here, go buy a basic EK kit that fits the hardware in your system, then just follow the directions and the advice you've heard, and you'll have your first liquid cooled system - and a truck load of confidence in yourself after finding out how simple & straight forward this stuff really is. Hell, feel free to message me if you have any questions even(cars or PCs LOL). Point being, don't let your mind and fear of the unknown scare you off from trying things that thousands and thousands of people around the world are doing!

@@wc7618 Well I'm definitely the kind of sucker that has trouble knowing when to "shut the hell up already" and that can't pass up the opportunity to offer some genuine encouragement(it drives me nuts when I see comments suggesting that PC liquid cooling is at all a difficult thing to do - the stuff is literally designed to all work together lol), so it was really akin to a calling from God you could say. Well, I was also just really bored at the time too, so there's that as well...

well the most difficult part in water cooling is good planning. it's actually rare that you get all the parts you need on first try. Also it depends a lot on how you do your loop. if your using quick disconnects, what kind of them, what kind of fittings, what kind of pumps, pwm or not etc there are a lot of variables, and it takes experience to sort it out. and faillure means ruining hardware. oh and emptying the loop can be really tough the first time if you did not planned for a way to do it easily. nowadays kits from EK for exemple makes the experience easier. especially the quick disconnects.
That was actually really well done. I wouldn't have expected any less from you, but it's still impressive that you pulled it off and kept it so clean in the process.
Awesome I can't wait to try this myself and I can't wait to see you benchmark more using this setup

Conformal coating and a thin graphite pad would be a good thing to add on to that. Not quite liquid metal, but much safer and still providing some pretty epic performance. And also reusable! No wonder NASA needed us for the space program
Thermal conductivity is an intensive property, not an extensive property; it doesn't change with more/less mass of some object.
it actually looks cool too. if it was all chromed out with hardline tubing, maybe 2 of them put together to look like one monster card laying flat.
Just one of those 2080 ti is the same thickness as two of my 1080 TI Aero sandwiched together lol( and also a way better card than both of my 1080 TI Aero LOL 😔)A person might have to get a few industrial-strength i-beams installed in their case in order to prevent GPU sag one of those 2080 TI lol

@Merkasaw LOL well I was joking sort of LOL... But these cards are still super thick man and GPU sag definitely a real and present danger with these cards versus past cards

That's a nice looking setup and it performed well. Shows that with some out of the box thinking, you can convert a card from air to wc. The link for Amazon no longer works. I liked how you explained why you used that particular brand. I would be tempted to do something like this but would have to look to make sure it didn't void a warranty.
Great job thanks for up load

U cant. U need change pcb pwms , and vcore to get more voltage and more clocks. Cant do that without mod the hardware itself.
