    Probably 20-30 seconds per frame at the current top tier cards and AI processing. Most likely this could be achieved in 3-5 years. Which sounds crazy, but most likely.

    0:15 Why are you comparing real time in game ray tracing, to pre rendered ray tracing acting like if you can do it in a render, they should be able to do it realtime just as easy. Pre rendered RTX and realtime RTX are completely different beasts..... you took 22 hours to render this very short video, with like 40 seconds of footage (on a 3090). Which if my math is correct, a 40 second 60fps video rendered in 22 hours, is roughly 33 seconds per frame of render time. Compare that to what RTX Minecraft has to render, which is a minimum of 60 frames in 1 second (my 3080 runs it closer to 100 frames a second). Its not even on the same planet dude. You're saying because you can render better looking RTX graphics, at a rate of 33 seconds per frame, compared to over 60 frames per second. So in the time you render 1 frame, Minecraft RTX would have rendered 1980 frames. The method you are using, is literally 1980x slower (probably closer to 2500-3000x slower, considering you are using a 3090 and a 3090 would probably get over 150 fps on minecraft RTX) than minecraft RTX. You cannot imply "If I can do this, you should be able to make Minecraft RTX look as good as this".

    Yeah exactly! Great comment 👌 I wished more people realised that. I saw several compare it to real texture packs and shaders when there's nothing to compare. Making an animation look good in blender is actually way easier than what people think (I have made a realistic looking metal pendant in blender as a first time thing and it took me 5 hours ish), but making something look good in real time is way more difficult (like you said). In Blender you can basically use as many details as you like as long as you let it render for the time it needs to render. He honestly made me quite mad with that comment. It's literally a scam video

    while i agree that MC RTX should be out of beta by now, its pretty unfair to say that with "i created this in 5 days" as an argument. the workflow and requirements game artists go through are very different than a CG/render artist. part of the reason minecraft rtx runs so well is because the geometry count is so low through at any given point to the player compared to a cyberpunk2077 for example. adding 100+ grass texture cards to every grass block (to get the same detail level as you did) would destroy performance on most computers. there are also resource packs that increase the texture resolution and (if i remember right) pixel displacement on blocks

  • @bubble8760

    @bubble8760

    Жыл бұрын

    @@clout3997 I never used both of these but, they are not made for the same purpose. If UE5 was truly just better than blender, then blender wouldn't just be THAT popular anymore or I would've heard much more how blender is just replaceable by UE5. It's not just about graphics I guess, and the fact that it takes 20h to render smthg that UE "can do in real time" is just the proof that they basically aren't doing the same things. If it was the case, what is the purpose of blender then? Waste time? Again, I don't know enough to talk but... I mean, If people choose to wait 20h instead of getting something instantly, I guess it's just because they aren't getting the same thing by getting it instantly

  • @DrakZhull

    @DrakZhull

    Жыл бұрын

    @@bubble8760 They are not interchangeable. That much you are right about. Blender is a 3D program for building and sculpting individual models with support for rendering on the side. UE5 is a game engine primarily built for rendering 3D assets and entire worlds. Two completely different approaches and focus at different places. No one can say that one is better than the other since they serve different purposes. However, for the rendering part, he is right. There is no point in rendering the scene in Blender for 20h when you have professional rendering software UE5 at your disposal, for free, which can do this in better quality and in real-time. He simply lost a lot of time for no reason.

    It would certainly be achievable with massive optimisations and LOD. It's certainly not fair to compare a blender animation that takes hours to render to a real time game output but this kind of detail would definitely be possible so long as the cloth simulations/block models etc were all pre-baked and cleaned up a bit. Minecraft (bedrock edition) is far better optimised for this kind of scene than blender is, if nvidia or mojang poured the resources into it, we'd have it already.

    @@kenny_eats_many It feels like a very common thing people say but don't mean. Especially given how many free resource packs are out there, it's unlikely that someone would fairly pay what a fully-developed pack of this quality would cost.

    It isnt btw, only a few blocks were retextured in blender, this is what is known as a "prerender" It took a day to make that pretty scene render, games have to make that pretty scene render immediately Not possible currently, also the methods used waste a lot of resources and are unoptimized

    My guy...your work is pretty impressive, but you still don't seem to understand what "RTX" is... RTX is about raytraced light...not about high resolution textures. Stop claiming to give games RTX or "improve RTX" when you're "just" making HD versions of the game's Textures/Models.

    How can someone with such a strong foundation for compute shading have such a disconnect in what it takes to update an actual game/program? DO you REALLY think because you were able to do this ONE unique to YOU scene in 1 week; that it has anything to do with programming the foundation of a game? That's like saying because you were able to trace your hand with a pencil, everyone older than you should be able to paint master pieces.
