I love your recreation of this game is a faux 3D system. Takes me back to my old 3D in GameMaker days...where I made a bad Doom clone with my high school teachers heads.

A suggestion would be for you to try expand yours horizons. Perhaps you could make a 2D game and work on it long time while trying our different mechanics and eventually turn the game into 3D. I think that would be interesting to see

not just a complicated mess, setting up networking can sometimes have people get their ip doxxed if their server isnt a google server or aws, but instead the server is their pc with port forwarding. That can lead to people looking up their IP and finding where they live, and you wouldnt want that, would you?

I’d suggest construct for just starting out, especially if you know nothing of code. I’ve tried many game engines and couldn’t do anything and after trying out and watching some construct tutorials I was able to make simple games fairly quickly

I'd actually love to see this game on itch. Just add a real multiplayer option (i love that it's singleplayer) and some nicer graphics and I think you'd have a winner.
