Brother, you are actually clinically insane. Thank you so much for making this. I'll definitely use it for a campaign if I ever get my friends into MH or find MH people into DnD. As for features I'd like to be added, the main one would be monster habitats, but I'm guessing that goes hand in hand with the phylogenic tree for every species. LiterallyWorldBuilding/10

The map! www.worldanvil.com/w/monster-hunter-universe-oceaniz/map/040035e6-fe17-4cf2-8685-53aa89ea4e47 Notes: - As I say in the video, this is still a work in progress. The map itself is complete, but the accompanying articles still need to be written and added (currently there is like 10 lol) - Literally two days after I finished this video, Monster Hunter released concept art for Elgado that shows its location more clearly - its not on an island as shown on the map, but more on like a small rock created by Gaismagorms crater. I will not be correcting my map for something this minor. - Absolutely use this map for DnD and fanfiction! You don't have to credit me (although I will always be happy if you do regardless)

Nice map! Though honestly I feel like Val Habar and Dahren are actually in Sekumea near the Great Desert alongside Loc Lac, while that area that you call the Val Habar region is more like a steppe-prairie region including the Ancestral Steppe

A nice feature would be placing some icons of colossal monsters, like how old painters added mythical creatures to their maps, only in this case said creatures actually exist in this world. For example: ceadeus around moga, zorah crossing the sea to the new world or jhen mohran in the desert.

It may mean nothing, but in the cutscene introducing Bahari, he points when he asks if you're the hunter from Kamura. If you follow the direction of his point, he's pointing towards what APPEARS to be the southwest of the Flooded Forest map. If you track the sun's movements over a single day cycle, you can see that it rises in the top-left and sets in the bottom-right of the map, which would make it so he's actually pointing almost straight NORTH. We now have three options: 1. This was a direct reference to Kamura's location 2. He was actually pointing towards the first base camp (it is in that direction) 3. The devs didn't think that hard and it means nothing And while it may ultimately mean nothing, it's still interesting that this is one of the very few times we even POTENTIALLY get a relative direction to something in Sunbreak.

This is actually impeccable because I've been a part of a community for pretty free role-playing where I've incorporated the world of Monster Hunter into it. As it is now, I'm turning it into a webcomic that'll hopefully represent everything included to the best of what fans of everything involved can imagine. The simplest way I can describe things is that Yujiro Hanma's wrestling a Pukei-Pukei barehanded, so literally anything to streamline the believability of the world is extremely appreciated! Always love your videos.

A lovely map, and I like the little blurbs you added. I have this Monster Hunter fanfic running around in my head - one that, at some point, involves the main character traveling to some of the cities (particularly Verudo) and seeing how the city folk live. This would help a lot.

You could also make a section where there is a list of each confirmed monster species and if you select a monster areas of the map that they live in will be shaded red and areas of the map that they don’t appear in game but likely do live in will be shaded yellow.

So elgado, I think could be wildly wrong. The Fandom wiki note in sunbreaks features "Journey to the west", which is journeying to Elgado. This would mean Elgado is to the west of Kamura somewhere, and thus "The Kingdom" is also somewhere even further west. The strange part, is it requires the hunter to "Journey across the sea", but for where Kamura makes sense to place, journeying across the sea would go mostly east. It is possible to go west, albiet taking an incredibly long time, and would be better done by land at that point.

The loading screen for Sunbreak shows us what is essentially a snap shot of the world map around Kamura and Elgado along with some notable locations though size and distance might not be to scale but positioning should be correct. It shows Elgado separated by a body of water with the Citadel sitting on the east side of the land mass pass Kamura. Love the map just thought I'd give you a heads up

It's quite interesting comparing this wonderful map with the other "relevant" fanmade monster hunter map. It's especially interesting seing these extreme differences within the kamura- and the schrade regions (as well as the different position of the New World), making it even clearer, that the monster hunter universe has no definite shape and is free to interpret, as we like. (The other fanmade map i'm referring to was posted to Reddit two years ago by the user "Nitrostoat", and included the two maps of Monster Hunter Stories 1&2. Although it's definetly a bit more overwhelming, probably not completely canonically accurate, and lacks any kind of lore, it too is an interesting take on the world map and definetly worth looking at, if you can find the time.)

cool. although I do kinda wonder... Monster Hunter games all take place in frontier locales. places that have not been tamed by Civilization and are often in precarious enough a state that all it takes is all the monsters nearby running rampant to destroy what little civilization is left. are there any places in the setting that aren't considered "the Frontier"? are there any grand empires with Cities full of people who have only seen something like a Rathalos on a painting? places where the Humans and Wyverians are more dangerous than monsters? THAT would be cool to know

this is incredible man im always curious about the undiscovered areas and i thought we only had fonron undiscovered but now i learned there is another ice continent thats also undiscovered called akura and i just realized how BIG the new world is if its the same scale as the image that means we have a TON of areas unexplored in the new world and im so hyped for the future of MH will we get one in the fonron continent? or will it explore the new world more? maybe a whole new continent? all of them are super thrilling to think about if we have a game thats in fonron continent it will probably be FILLED with rare species and subspecies we never saw before and it might be a super hard game since fonron is so dangerous the guild bans people to go there if we continue exploring the new world i wonder if there are any more areas like the coral high lands and rotten vale things that SHOULD NOT EXIST but they do because of the amount of energy in the new world if we get to explore akura i wonder what types of monsters will be there probably a HUGE amount of ice monsters i also wonder whats in store for us in the south sense its mostly undiscovered i think

Out of curiosity would it be possible to create an article or list for the hunting grounds showing the monsters they are known to live there?

Personal headcanon of mine here that Sekumea and Erude/Elde aren’t exclusively deserts and volcanoes respectively, instead the former being mostly savannah and wetlands while the latter being mostly jungles and highland forests. What do you think?

Shouldnt El Gado be more to the south since the "Kingdom" is like in Aya country given the fact that they refer to their hunters as knights

What about the maps and globe in Stories 1 and 2? Do those align anywhere or is that map so out of sync with the main series that it has to be considered an alternate world?
