I made an Automatic Shirt Folding Machine - DIY Builds
Ойын-сауық
Wanted to over-engineer a more efficient way to be lazy. Thus, I made a machine that folds my shirts (mostly) at the push of a button. Hope yall enjoy!

Found this video from Reddit, absolutely loved it, the relatively dry humor is great and the editing is very well done :)

Thanks a lot! I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!
Love that you tested the time saved as well :D I thought of doing so myself, but I guess now I don't have to. One thing to consider as well is that you'll need time to get your folder out of your closet and set it all up. So it might be worth waiting until you have 30 shirts ready to be folded :'D
Love the edits! Great video!

lovely. im thinking of automatizing my whole wardrobe, with folding included
Cool video! Love the jokes too! Seems like there are 3 moving/folding flaps, and one stationary piece. Can you add a conveyor belt(or something similar) to push the folded clothes along, just before the loop resets? Maybe you can place it over a table, and the folder shirts/tees just fall into a neat stack.
Watching this the second time, I can really see you've come a long way in terms of editing videos and writing a script. Well done man.

This is dope. I was in the same predicament, and decided to engineer a folding machine. I print hundreds of t-shirts a week so this machine comes in clutch.

You are amazing! 😄
I would suggest to make a frame for the flap, similar to window frames, it will give stability
Inspiring sir f****** inspiring

High quality vid…How are you not blowing up yet? Also I am interested in learning electronics and coding…Do you mind telling me how you learnt how these things and if you have some tips for someone that wants to create things. Thanks
Hi, may i know if you used 12V DC battery to power up the motor?
Very much informative ! Nicely Done.. Did you by any chance commercialize this?
Awesome video and project! Is there any link to the solidworks 3D model so I can download it?
Still relevant i see. The companies that were working on this laundry folding projects, folded the company in 2021 i think. I am gonna make my own too now. I am tired of laundry

Loved this video, want to see a robot arm that grabs it out of a laundry bin and spreads it out on the folder. and picks up the folded item and places it in a laundry basket.
This was unexpectedly funny.
Can you make a part two because I think it’ll shave off a good amount of time if you get the last flipper to flap if you know what I mean
Yes! Now I have a good reason to skip folding my laundry and focus on robotics. For... efficiency!

Hey! I made a project write-up on Arduino.cc and electromaker where I have downloads of the files and codes. You could easily use a piece of cardboard to glue around the motors, making a base which you could then fix to the base platform. And with enough epoxy and a tube that fits over the shafts, you could make a replacement for the couplers. Good luck man! Let me know if you need any help. create.arduino.cc/projecthub/typalowski/automatic-shirt-folding-machine-88fb92
