I was thinking the same thing, and best of all usable each year too.

I love that you looked at accordion-pleated Japanese fashion patterns and thought, "pumpkins!"

The Frenchiest French pumpkin there ever was. I was skeptical at first but the croissant slippers really sold it. And you could totally wear that in public. It's clearly pumpkin-themed but it's not like one of those big round Halloween costumes. I think it looks great

At this point I’m convinced you and Rachel Maksy are friends and plan autumn costumes for your channels over zoom while drinking coffee and eating pastry. Don’t tell me if I’m wrong, I love the cozy vibes.

This reminds me of when Rachel Maksy attempted to make jack-o-lantern sleeves a while ago and had a lot of trouble getting the shape right. Yeesss! Pattern Magic! We used those in college in a drafting class to experiment with what is possible with patterns. They really open your eyes to just WHAT is possible. I love how you used them to make pumpkins. This turned out super cute!

I think this is my fave thing you’ve made! Absolutely honestly I think you could wear it casually…at least during fall.

I adore the "French seams" outfit; the croissant slippers are the perfect touch! And waving your croissant slippered foot every time you say French seam afterwards is so funny! The mathematical formulas crowding the screen during the patterning process perfectly illustrates my own feelings on the process! Those sleeves are...perfect pumpkins, after you adjusted the size and shape of the pieces! With the leaf bows, it's just perfection! You need to model it with your leaf skirt; the perfect fall outfit!!!

Fun fact: most squashes (and squash relatives like the pumpkin) have similar shaped leaves when they start off as seedlings. I grow my own pumpkins and sometimes I'll grow the other squashes and I'll have to make sure not to mix up the seedlings down the line.

I've seen some of the things that get on the fashion runways. Your pumpkin top is way more practical and fun! This such a fun project and has lots of ideas I never would have thought of. All of which I will keep in mind for my next costume construction. If the kids ever gets his head out of the computer and picks a costume! Also love the way Not Your Car just keeps coming back and taking over sewing room!

This dramatic blouse NEEDS a dramatic skirt, that would be so cool! Maybe a pumkin patch, garden or something with vines? Or a very big pumkin as a skirt 🤔

Tip for squiggly things, cut two spirals, sew them together into a tube, and they'll squiggle without needing wire. Also, I also need a top with pumpkin boob cups. I'm somewhat excessively blessed at the bust, and that would look so so funny on me. They'd basically be life-sized pumpkins, lol.

When I thrift garments, one of the first things I remove are the shoulder pads. However I love the "pouf" on that pumpkin shirt. I am glad cameows (ouch, please do not block me) of "the cat who is not my cat" were included. Those slippers, "parfait" !

I really like the buttons you chose - they look like pumpkin seeds in color!

I say again,you are so lucky to have all crafty supplies an arm length away, in a cupboard or drawer. The buttons were perfect as is the entire top.
