Ey I can play trombone. You might wanna try making it with smaller diameter pipe, and I would look up the length of pipe in a normal trombone. I'm normally a tuba player so I know that my tuba has like 18 feet of tubing. I bet if you made it more specific you could make it really good. My friend has a plastic trombone and he loves it.

As a brass player who has played pvc pipes before, I suspect the tone of the instrument would increase a lot if you put a proper mouthpiece in there. Mouthpieces make a huge difference in sound, and jagged piping does not a good mouthpiece make.
In The Mood by Glenn Miller! Classic! You should attempt Soulful Strut by Young-Holt Unlimited on that thing.
honestly this is such a good channel. no 10 minute ads in the videos, just quality content

I think a cool feature would be to add a mouth piece that starts off as a semi-circle then a short tube like those seen on actual trombones, don't know if they sell them at home depot though.

This is how instruments will be in the apocalypse
4:46 it’s in the mood I only know cuz I’m play it right now in middle school
That thing was like in E flat almost lol😂
Actually, make a second one, but use some thinner piping.
It would probably sound a little better with thinner pipes and a smaller mouthpiece. Other than that, the fact that it can actually play distinct notes is amazing.
The reason instruments use brass is because it has this cool property that allows two pieces of tubing to slide inside one another without loosing air pressure or pulling more air in. This is also why its useful in modifying nerf guns
Literally, the onoy problem i can see, is that you used pretty big pvc. Smaller diameter ones would probably give an even better result. But impressive,n

Yeah, there is air in heaven, and air was definatly involved.
the pvc is very thicc for a trombone
“It’s hard to play high notes when the ombrocure is so big” just described the tuba.
as a trombone player i think the key to making this sound good is realizing that the bore is huge and so this is gonna have less resistance than even a tuba, it will resonate on really low notes, and it will sound more like a digeridoo
That Universal opening made me laugh harder than it should.

Two years ago you made this video, but I only found your channel today. Anyway, checked the comments and nobody mentioned it. I recommend revisit this with a beeswax mouthpiece, like that of a didgeridoo, or you could shape a pvc cap to be a proper mouthpiece, by drilling a small hole and teeming it to whatever size you prefer
Neighbors: Hey can you tell your dinosaur to keep it down!?
"thats it........whatever that is" -louis
0:00 this is the part where Universal studios gets their copyright claim
Very impressive work and outcome. Have you considered trying to adapt an actual trombone mouth piece to this pvc trombone? Would be interesting to hear that outcome. And, yes; I did play trombome in Junior High and High School. Played in both Concert and Jazz Bands.

the song is in the mood. my high school jazz band has had it in the folder the entire time ive been in high school (senior)
When he was like there’s a way to make this work I said a mouthpiece and he was like I can use this as a mouth piece and I’ve never been more proud.

PVC is awesome. I particularly like the PVC potato cannon I saw on a farm a few years ago. I wish someone would invent a PVC baritone sax - it'd be a lot lighter than the monster I lug around.
Not going a lie, in highschool some of the trombone players sounded like this so it passes in my eyes

In the Mood??? Wow, that was really cool!
Eyyyy in the mood All the trombone memes in 1 song
Feels good to get this recommended after two years lol
Thats great haha, I think it will work better with slimmer pvc, maybe it will be more tuned.
this channel is underrated ngl
I play trombone myself, and it sounds like someone starting trombone. And it still sounds good
In grade school, 3rd grade, a brass orchestra came and performed for the school. It was nice but it got really cool at the end when they pulled out home made instruments. There was PVC pipe and water hoses and funnels used. They then played The Simpson's Theme on them.
Absolute perfection
That “unknown” song was in the mood
This is AWESOME. If only I could make a PVC tuba and play it to my tuba teacher.
Damn dude that’s some nice music
That's a derpy looking and sounding trombone!
The song you couldn't remember is in the mood. My jazz instructor used to hate that song and my classmates would make him mad by playing it all the time lol
That rendition of the Jurassic Park theme needs to replace the recorder version in all those memes.

"Yes Partick, PVC pipes are an instrument"
Me too and I agree it really just sounds like its a normal trombone just recording it with a really bad mic and not using enough air
Lol! I have to say... I am impressed!

She played In The Mood there. Very cool!
Louis: *plays a trombone made out of PVC pipes* Me: *intrigued by the video.* Also me: *immediately watches Drumbone by the Blue Man Group after the video ends.*
"AND IT TOTALLY BLOWS" aha i see what you got there
Back in the late fifteenth century when the trombone was invented, they first tried PVC pipe. Now you see why they switched to brass.
