I made a granny square crochet blanket (from a 1 kg ball of yarn)

Hey friends! Might not be my best work but it was honestly a fun little project. If you're ever in between projects I can recommend something like this if you have thick yarn and a big hook you'll whip this up in no time!
And remember to stretch your wrists and take breaks or you'll be forced to take a longer one... (not speaking from experience or anything)

    Hey friends! The yarn I’m using here is a Tedi-specific brand (the store I got it from here in Germany) as far as it says on the label. It says “DIY handmade” and “Maxima” on it but in the specifics it only says Tedi… (you could check tedi.com but I couldn’t find anything 😅) If you want to find similar weight yarn it’s 1000g = 965m as I said in the beginning of the video, 4.5-5mm hook or needles, but I used 8mm 🤗

    Oh wow! I just made an huge granny square blanket and finished it in a little over a week with about 1-2 s of work a day. I made it to fit a little bigger than a queen bed, and added four rows + a border on the edges of it. I switched colors every other row. So many ends to weave in 🥹

    Wow to you actually!! Queen bed? 😍 I feel the pain about the ends.. the first one I showed will hopefully as big as yours with a thousand ends as well.. the way we suffer for our crafts 😅🥰

    When doing these and changing colors, can the ends be crocheted over instead of woven in? So far I've been sticking with variegated yarns because I already know the weaving ends is going to deter me. The few projects I've done, the weaving or sewing just kills my fingers because of my carpal tunnel. My fingers go numb in five minutes. I'd love to be able to use other colors and change rows instead of solid squares, but again, the ends are what stop me.

    I think you can weave it in as you go but the problem with this kind of blanket or stitch is the gap inbetween so it might show more than in a project that uses a tigher pattern 🤔 Another thing you could do is maybe don’t weave them in completely but kinda fix them a little and then sew another blanket at the backside and that would hide them anyways, I don’t know if there would be any ends showing with time tho.. And the last thing is to just leave the ends and pretend like that’s how it’s supposed to be 😁

  • @Kiertiana

    @Kiertiana

    @rabiaberceste 😆 that last suggestion! I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do that. The completionist in me would not like that. Weaving in as I go is probably my best option if there are no suitable alternatives, I guess. 🤷‍♀️ Thanks!! You're so fast to reply. I look forward to more crochet videos of yours!
