Can you do a budget planted tank soon? That would be great for new people who are just starting and are unsure of their capabilities. Maybe set a price limit and make it a challenge🤙

I've always wanted a nano desk tank, so i could see life next to my study desk. however my dad is a pond person and we keep everything in ponds outside,. Which to be honest is probably a more open area for the fish but definitely not as aesthetically pleasing when all you see are the floater plants covering up the wood tainted water.

  • @thomaxtube

I suggest making “ a best of both worlds” -style nano desktop tank,am starting a few like so now, combining a natural pond ecology (no tech, a biotope : “father fish method” ) + MJ inspired aesthetics under water gardening masterpiece. with natural pond soil capped with undisturbed 2inc sand layer for planting, and some dead leaves and living pond water , added in the water column. never need for gravel, -vacuuming, self cleaning, never water changing, unless overloading the water with fish, -food or fertilizer. the water is living and harmonizing - only top up. No chems. Minimum fish food & No fertilizer in the water column = no algae. Living substrate = natural waste processing for fish & natural CO2 source for plants, more plants = more oxygen and no ammonia & nitrate. & natural base of self feeding living water ecology for the shrimps & all involved.

Hi MJ, great little scape. Love the sparkling Gourami's, such interesting fish. You will get some hunting behavier from them when the shrimp start to reproduce. Got three sparkling Gourami's with cherry shrimp in my nano tank, they only hunt the tiny shrimp though. Keeps the amount of shrimp somewhat under control.

Hi mark, About the cherry shrimp in lenght i have multiple neocaradina shrimp and some tanks have smaller shrimp then others i did some research and found something about genetics in the shrimp if you have "smaller" shrimp you always have that lenght as an adult. I never mixed my shrimp (same species) from different shops/breeders. Because of this "DNA" in the shrimp. Have a great weekend! Groetjes Stefan

I am getting into keeping them myself and have been told that they will jump, but they are still new at my place and I haven't seen that behavior yet. Wondering if I'm going to need to make a lid for my setup or not

It’s another great video! Btw it will be great to make a video on how you made this really good stone setup as shown on 2:45. I have such stones and was wondering how you plant on them so nicely. The other topic is the size of the shrimps. I also have the same experience- I have some very big cherry and at the same time in a separate aquarium another group which are very healthy but not growing at all. I am very puzzled with that. If someone knows what might be the reason please share. Thanks 🙏 😊

Hey, mj, I really like your videos, so I thought I would ask some really important questions. My betta has poeye, and it hasn't gone away after 2 weeks of antibacterial medication. Is this normal? Also, his bottom fins are starting to become sort of clear from the middle out, and I don't know what it is. Finally, he has 3 scails that look like they are pineconeing, but they actually have little pieces of "debris" that may be attached to him. I hope you answer to me because I really believe you can help me.

How are your gourami's doing with your shrimp? I have a similar size setup, only with more plants. My shrimp are to big for my gourami's to predate on, but they seem to want to stalk and harass the shrimp non stop. Just curious if yours does the same?

Ik ben super benieuwd naar de kleine rode planten; normaal worden ze best groot en nemen ze een tank over maar bij jou niet!!! Wat is je geheim?

Do you recommend to use amazonia aquasoil without co2?

Yeah should be fine. Just make sure to do enough water changes in the beginning

At the moment I'm using this one: www.2hraquarist.com/products/apt1 It's basically potassium and trace minerals in one bottle. And code ''MJAQUA" will give you a discount on that website if you want to try it ;)
