    America has been giving its enemies billions in weapons when it "pulls out" its occupying forces for decades. It's standard military practice as it costs more to inventory and ship them back than it does to just make/buy new ones. Weird that all of a sudden it's now upsetting people.

    I was flagged because I bought titanium tubing, TIG filler rod, and RC airplane parts. And this isn't the last you are gonna hear about this. When you get pulled over, it's gonna show that homeland security visited you and you are a person of interest. So any interaction with LEOs is taken up a notch. As a fellow veteran, that REALLY bothers me. It is getting very "1984ish"

  • @jacktheaviator4938

    @jacktheaviator4938

    From what I can gather, it isn't so much you personally they are spying on, there is a computer system that tracks the movement of shipped items, especially anything passing through customs. Another reason to buy American, you are less likely to get flagged if the orders aren't from AliExpress. Another thing that raises eyebrows is similar items going to the same address for different recipients, especially if they don't share a last name. But no matter how you slice it, they are watching what you are buying, which is one step from saying "you need a new license to purchase ____" tracking infrastructure and software already in place. At this point, I think they are kinda testing the waters, seeing how it can be implemented. Plus it hasn't been challenged in court. The state of privacy is gonna be a huge issue within the next couple years. Quantum computing gives the DARPA types unprecedented prediction accuracy. Everything will get decided by an algorithm

    Ah, yes. Maybe i should have been a little more elaborate. I meant the constant pushing from some people in government today, not only in the US but in EU too, to disarm the population totally. The NSP in its early days in germany started with disarming parts of the population they was going to target. Their goals were hopefully not the same as we are seeing today. I mean, opressing armed people is a wee bit more work... It's nice to hear they survived anyway!

    As former federal law enforcement of 21 years, it’s important to know your rights. You are not obligated to answer any questions, nor are you required to turn over anything you may have legally purchased. Your use of any type of legal product whether it be 1 or a 1000 of them is your business only and not subject to their interpretation. If you have not done anything wrong there is nothing wrong with being cordial and cooperating, but realize they regularly utilize the tactic of asking questions with the idea that you will give more info than they presently have via your explanation. Inviting them into your home or garage is an example of this and something I would never do. You willfully granted them access to areas for which they would have to posses a warrant under any other circumstance. It is clearly not to the same extent, in that they cannot search through your belongings, but you do open up yourself to scrutiny of anything in plain view of the officers. If they are that interested in what you bought and what your doing with it, they should have to get a warrant. The reason they did not have one is because a judge is not going to grant one based on your purchase of oil filters.

One to replace now, and one to keep as a truck filter if I have an oil related emergency and no repair shops open. The second can be cheaper and easy to slap on while on the side of the road or a field or whatever as a back up spare. Anyway, raise your internet security awareness and searching after the fact maybe didn't help you.

    You know what angers me about this whole thing? I too am former military, disabled now, retired medically due to military injuries. I am also a former LEO, V/A and as a Deputy Sheriff to name a couple. And what angers me is that we have people wearing the badge that took a very similar oath to what I took multiple times... and they are forgetting that very oath, what it says and what it means. The fact that the government is now tracking everything you buy in this manner AND ASSUMING you are breaking the law, means we are already in '1984' and the only way this goes is down from there. The fact they are ASSUMING things not in evidence, are looking to find a crime or make one that does not exist, the fact they are ignoring ANY due process, i.e. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY, The fact they are actively visiting people's homes actively investigating American Citizens for crimes NOT COMMITTED, is not only illegal itself but unconstitutional as well. To be placed under investigation because of something you purchased and for them to use the EXCUSE they are trying to "prevent" crime, is nothing more than a subversion of the very Constitution they swore to defend and an excuse to directly infringe on the rights AND the privacy of the citizens of this country. This country is headed a direction that 20 years ago I would never have thought possible. Today, we are so close to that very thing that should never happen under a Constitutional Republic... and the reason it is happening is because those in power in government and many of those in law enforcement wearing the badge have forgotten some very important things.. 1) THEY WORK FOR THE PEOPLE. Not the other way around.. and 2) The Constitution is what they took an oath to support and defend. Not some politician or bureaucrat in a office that thinks they have the power to decide for the rest of us, what we can and cannot do in the privacy of our own homes. 3) A moral compass, right and wrong. Your job is not to make crimes. It sure as hell is not to try to find them out of mid air or make a crime out of something that never started as one. You want to know why many of us no longer have faith or any trust in the DOJ, FBI and DHS? Take a guess because it ain't just one or two. I lost all faith and trust in the DOJ, FBI and DHS the moment hillary clinton walked free. How many CLASSIFIED emails does it take for her to be charged? Charged JUST LIKE ANY ONE OF US would have been for EVEN ONE DOCUMENT left out on a table for someone else to see.... Those of you wearing the badge, why don't you do your damn REAL job? Go arrest her and then come back and talk to the rest of us about your "concerns" because we bought something on line. I hope some of these so called 'officers' are reading these comments because maybe, just maybe one or two of you will sit back and think about this and what you are doing. You can sit there behind your badge and let rioters, thugs and murderers tear apart a city, tear apart a countries history and heritage, let people like hillary skate from charges for a major federal offense.... but whoa if you buy some oil filters and other items 'you' deem as somehow nefarious or leading to criminal activity.. It is YOU wearing the badge that are part of this destruction when you ignore and forget your place... and the OATH YOU TOOK JUST AS I DID AND AS DID SO MANY OTHERS. It is sad to see the fast large drop in integrity, honor and truth in law enforcement at all levels. I still have friends wearing the badge in fact and if they were here right now, they would say the same things.. I can only hope that the majority of badges out there still have that integrity and honor.. but more and more we are seeing badge wearers use the excuse: "I am just doing my job..." WRONG. Your job is to "Support and Defend the US Constitution and the rights of the people...." THAT's your job.... not try to find crime because someone bought oil filters... I don't care how many a person bought or if you are bent because you 'think' they 'might' use them to make suppressors. When you have cause, when you have actual evidence they committed a crime, THEN you can investigate and make an arrest after due process. Anything prior to that is tyranny and a police state headed there. Nothing less.

    The funny thing is suppressors are actually encouraged in Europe, correct me if Im wrong but in some countries in Europe they are required. All suppressors are, is nothing more than a novelty..

    So you can shoot a gun without your ears ringing, some suppressors are really loud, they are not silencers

    @@LateLost the suppressors are still really loud, just not loud enough to make your ears ring, and that's part of they extremely strick laws, in Canada you may have a pistol but leave it at the gun club and only shoot it at the gun club, crazy laws could easily be asked to be enforced in the states

    So, diesel filters can be used as firearm suppressors? Thanks, DHS! I didn't know that until you explained it to me.

    I actually learned about this from playing the 2019 Modern Warfare campaign. Early on in the game, you just see an American yanking out an oil filter from a van in order to take out a couple of enemies.

    As a native Detroiter, the reach they have is ridiculously invasive, but dope is also made using them, i will not be shocked if it was that cuz we all know oil filters aren't great as a suppressor
