Can't advise on the camera thing but I can tell you this, the quality of your video's comes from you Emma! You are amazing! You are a joy to watch and follow, you always make me smile. And Yes!!!, you are perfectly entitled to be proud, blowing your own trumpet. You have battled against what was a complete jungle on your new plot. With all due respect Emma, look at it now. It's loved and cared for. Young fruit bushes quite like to be decapitated. They will send out many more branches.

Try saving a compost bag for those stubborn bindweeds! Turn it inside out so it’s black, fill it with the pulled weeds & lay it down like a pillow over a section of dirt you want to be weed free, and let the sun & heat FRY the weeds inside. By autumn at least they’ll be mostly broken down and suitable as mulch. In two years, it’s free potting soil.

I recently 'found' your channel and I have zero complaints about the camera. Your camera work is nice and the content is 100% the most important thing, slightly more or less grainy or a different whitebalance technology or whatever would not make an iota of difference to me.

Love the little cucumber trellis! I was going to try something like that when I planted mine but I decided to connect 3 pallets side by side and create a pallet fence for my cucumbers and squash to grow up and over. I spray painted the fence in a tropical blue a few weeks before I planted them. All of the squash and cucumber plants have now grown over the top and are producing like crazy...my first time planting cucumbers in the ground. You have done an amazing job and everything looks beautiful!

Hi Emma! 🙂About your camera, as you mentioned in another comment, it might be worth having it looked at and getting a quote for any work that's needed. For an £800 investment it would be a shame to ditch it. As an alternative, or even a back-up to your Canon, I'd recommend the GoPro 12. I've been doing monthly plot tour videos for 6 years with the GoPro 7 and recently upgraded to the 12 with the 7 as my 'reserve'. For £300 the GoPro 12 would give you all you need plus you can dunk it in water (although I've never done that and would never recommend it 🙂). Recently I've been looking at the Canon 90D DSLR, which is an amazing 4K camera with image stabiliser, but it would probably be too heavy for holding on an extended arm for any length of time. It's £1,180 with lens on Amazon but £749 for 'body only' from hdew cameras (Wallington, Surrey, est 1993), If you went with the latter you could add whatever lenses you like. Or you might already have access to Canon lenses, which would be handy. Anyway, we love your videos, and you could record them on an old flip-up Nokia phone in 240p and we'd still enjoy them! 🙂

On the subject of cameras I think you'd really benefit from having a trail cam. You can then identify what's eating what. It'd be interesting to actually see the culprits and you can then better protect your plants etc. knowing who or what's eating / damaging them.

Emma all your hard work is paying off the allotment is looking beautiful! Some of my stuff grown from seed is also growing and doing well. I grew coleus from seed and they are stunning I have lime ones and ones with watermelon striping etc.. they are gorgeous you should grow some from seed soooo easy but be careful they are tiny seeds and they all germinate. I also have tomatoes and my raspberries I planted 2 years ago are out of control and I was able to share extra plants this year. Also squash and cucumbers and pumpkins and I just had a great garlic and potato 🥔 Harvest and more coming. You do a little at a time when you can and then you look around and realize I did that and I did good. It’s been a joy watching your journey!

I will give you credit what you have done this year to turn the new plot around I must say I didn't think you would have been to do it and that's nothing bad about you it's just how bad the plot was but a big pat on the back you have done so well for 1year so if you can do this in 1year just think how much more you can do next year with the final bits you may still wish to tackle I know a new shed was a thing you have said many times not sure if that's still on cards and the dummy area at top of new plot never gets talked about much if tackling them are still on cards but a big well done and thank you for bringing us along on your journey

Can train it or them to cover the whole palate, the fox Amy take refuge under there or other critters just an fyi. The slugs loves cucumber plants. And most likely they lives in this overgrown border behind the pumpkin arch that's why pumpkins on one side are eaten and on other side are thriving. Cucumber 🥒 - it depends how big your plants are. When cucumber plants are young and small - they make a perfect snack for slugs and snails 🐌🥒. But as they grow bigger and settle in then their leaves are going somewhat rough and slugs would turn away for something softer than that. Try your leaves - how do they feel on your hand?

Would the quality be due to scratches on the lens due to many cleanings? Do you have a clear protecting filter on your camera lens? If so, it might be just a matter of replacing that.

I was thinking this exact thing today!! I think I have a small scratch right in the middle of my lens. Might get it fixed if it works out cheaper than buying a new camera x

ive never had birds go near pumpkins what sort of birds do other people have that attack everything lol just brassicas and fruit here, I think slugs and wind damage and heavy rain, that's what broke a few of mine, saying that crows snapped all my sunflowers one year and I saw them doing it lol cute but evil

What I use is a dji osmo action 4, filming in 4K great but no good for close up, but your videos are great anyway emma

Without youtube premium viewers on 1080p now have a downgraded bitrate so the quality appears worse and when a lot of 'things' are moving on screen at the same time the quality can degrade quickly. I suspect this might be the issue rather than the camera itself. I can also see a black dot in the bottom right corner at parts of the video where you move the camera so the lense might need replacing too.
