I'm switching wireless mics: Neewer CM28 lavalier system
I'm switching wireless lavalier mic systems. I've finally found something to replace my Rode Go II Wireless system, and it costs half as much.
In the video, I mentioned I'd let you know if Neewer got back to me. They did and their response was very funny. However, I've decided to paraphrase and just say that you can disregard that particular warning in the user guide. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, you have to watch the video!

Neewer gave me the CM28 set for free. I am under no obligation to review it and I'm not getting paid. All my thoughts are my own.
Which is a very strange thing to say, when you think about it. Of course all my thoughts are my own. It's not like I borrowed them from someone else. But no one reads these things anyway...

You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!
Great review! Thank you for sharing! Did you edit any of the field test audio? And when you’re quiet (without the noise cancellation on) is there a lot of white noise (sounds like the central air is on in your house) ?

Thanks! The only thing I’ve done to the audio is apply a little limiting at the end, to even out the gain. No EQ or anything like that. I don’t notice any significant noise, even in the quieter studio part of the video.
Thank you for the quick response.

Excellent review! But as I was about to buy them, I discovered the boya boyamic, which would you buy?

Hmm, you’ve just reminded me that Boya said they would send me a Boyamic to review and never did! So I haven’t had a chance to try it. They generally make good stuff.
Thank you for a good review. For the internal recording - to get the audio file on your computer, do you just connect the selected transmitter with the recording via USB-C cable to computers and select the file? Did you have a chance to use the cm28 system with smartphone?

Yes, just plug the Tx into your computer with a usb cable and it will appear like any regular drive or thin drive would. I have NOT yet tried it out with a phone because I don’t usually shoot that way. But I have no reason to expect any problems.

@@MatthewHaines thank you so much. I just run some tests with plugging the receiver into iPhone and using one transmitter. Tested without/with the noise cancellation (sounds better with noice cancellation ON). And then tested different db levels (I know not much db selection but for that price all good). So far happy with that on the budget wireless mics

@@GroovyTakeON that’s good to hear! Thanks for the feedback.
How does your audio sounds so good? I'm directly recording on my iPhone with the cm28 and it's not as good. I'm new at this should I edit the audio on a software If yes which one?😢

Hi, Israel! Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Let me ask a few questions: - Where are you placing the transmitter? How close is it to your mouth? - How are you attaching the receiver to your phone? - What are your levels set to? - Are you using noise reduction or not? Oh, and have you tried recording internally to the Tx and then listening back to that audio? Does it sound the same or different? And what is the nature of the 'bad'? Is it distorted or noisy or EQ sounds funny or...?
Hey i was just wondering, with this set, when recording on the camera will it automatically clip to the audio i record on the camera or do i need to download the file from the transmitter and then match it up? thanks!

Hey Archie. I'm not sure if I understand the question. Are you essentially asking how do you sync up a lone audio file from the transmitter with the original video? It's not automatic, no. However, most pro editing apps (Davinci, Final Cut, Premiere) have an audio sync function and it's very seamless. The wireless set itself doesn't do the syncing though. If that didn't answer your question, let me know!

@@MatthewHaines ahh okay so how do i go about downloading the audio in order to add it to the video? Is it a simple plug the device into a laptop and download it that way or is there a bluetooth method?
@MatthewHaines

@@archie_reesracing7301 just plug it in! The Tx will appear as a drive, like it was a thumb drive. Copy it over and you’re good.
Thank you!

I’ve never been happy with the sound quality of the Rode GO II wireless system. Too crispy. Lots of wireless systems sound better, but don’t have internal recording (or don’t do it properly). Someone’s finally hit that sweet spot. So yeah…imagine.
