I think they were created to kill the bugs in Glamoth's war against them. I figure that the 4 of them are probably still alive, and with the war only being a memory now, they are all out there scattered across the galaxy in search of one another again. This is probably one of the reasons why Firefly joined the Stellaron Hunters. She is in search of the others while tagging along with them all across the galaxy.

I like how the people that have played any hoyo game, sees this wholesome animatic, and think "What's the catch" Like they immediately see death flags raise up and start getting scared

To answer 2:16; According to relic lore, Titania was the first genetically modified weapon created by Glamoth to fight in the Swarm Disaster, and that all of the iron cavalry are identical clones. So yes, all the thousands/millions of members of the Iron Calvary Knights are technically related (or rather, the same person).

They are from same genetic template, but with variations. Like A-series in HI3 (Teri, Luna and Amber are pretty distinct and neither of them is Kallen-copy despite based on her genetics).

@@gizunoglunmig0801 It's the same one as I understand it. Tayzzyronth died almost at the BEGINNING of Swarm Disaster after being ganged up by several Aeons. Leftover swarm though? Was active much much longer and most of damage happened after Tayzzyronth's death.

This teaser almost gave me a tear, definitely one of the sweetest characters for such a badass introduction, giving more story about her before she became a Stellaron Hunter, Just like Mina said, I'm pretty surprised that it doesn't relate to anyone dead in this teaser, It was really wholesome

This really felt like the calm before a storm, hope it at least has a happy ending. Also the woman at the end seemed to have the same condition as firefly with the face mark.

They all probably have the same condition, as they’re expected to have short lives due to the genetic modifications. And her marks weren’t retracting unlike firefly or the glasses girl, so it probably means that she’s been around longer and is in a more advanced stage of the syndrome

Most likely the real puncher will be the short animation, the music in this trailer is so good as well and I wish to hear it in game eventually.

They're all clones of Titania, genetically engineered warriors created to combat the Swarm Disaster. They existed thousands and thousands of years ago, predating the Xianzhou Alliance and Nanook and his stellaron threat. This is why they all look alike. Even if these other SAMs survived the war, they'd be long gone, considering their Entropy Loss Syndrome is a built-in kill switch with a very short lifespan. The fact that Firefly exists today at all is the real mystery. At a meta level, Mihoyo borrows massively from Evangelion. Their first game, Fly Me 2 The Moon, is a direct reference. The Impact in Honkai Impact 3 and Genshin Impact is the same Impact from Evangelion. The protagonist of HI3, Kiana Kaslana, is an analog of Evangelion's Ayanami Rei, a clone of her mother, Lilith, created to pilot a mech used to battle angels brought to earth by the Impacts. Firefly is a clone of Titania, created to pilot a mech used to battle the swarm brought to Glamoth by the Aeon of Propagation, Tayzzyronth. And putting Firefly into the shoes of Ayanami Rei clearly makes her the de facto love interest of male MC. (Shinji doesn't end up with Rei, though. He ends up with ara ara oneesan.)

Just an update. I got E2 Firefly with my crystal jades savings. Now I am a happy Firefly main.

I love firefly so much, idk how to feel about the trailer, but GOOD LUCK TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU FIREWIFE LOVER, HOPE YOU SEE A MILLIONS OF FIREFLIES.

Seeing this is feels like watching fireworks you know how it will end but you want to keep watching to the end

Since you asked if they were related: Glamoth's iron calvary are genetically modified soilders in mech suits to fight the swarm. They were all grown in a lab, so either they are all clones of someone, or the enhancement process results in them looking the same. I wonder if there is an original firefly out there.

Every frame is so beautiful, love the warmth of her smile so much

Remember, they released 2 teaser images. The first one came from this short, with Firefly smiling, and the other in her SAM suit on top of a pile of bodies(?) with her surroundings burning around her. So I am definitely bracing myself for the heartbreak. Also, this trailer is melancholic as all hell and made me tear up. PS: At the very least the girl in glasses dies because she definitely fills that trope of the "carefree friend who showed others how to have fun".

This is both sweet and wholesome and emotionally devastating in regards to the story and the character and you can imagine that sometjing will happen to them or to her, if not already 😶😭😭😭

This trailer made me well up with tears I didn't even know I had. Hoyo out here plucking heartstrings again.

With Hindsight this is so much sadder because all of them are probably dead except for our FireFly

Type 1 are the mass produced Type 2 is probably th bulky ver Type 3 being the one with the cannon Type 4 is Firefly/Hotaru Type 5 being the perfected version because of the fact that ver doesnt have a mask and the face is fully exposed unlike the others. Meaning it's normal state is completr combustion. As for relations their base DNA sample is said to be from the Empress.

All Kiana's must be protected. Summon their Knights, the Raiden Mei's, and the Seraphim, the Bronya's.

In the special program, Jade did say there is a possibility there are more SAM that survived in the universe. Seeing how much resources IPC have, they might have learned a few things or even have one unit under their ranks.

They did say that there are more SAM suits in the 2.3 livestream so we might be able to see and or find more SAMS in the future!

it's honestly wild how fast firefly grew on me when i started seeing more scenes/development about her.

They have numbers on the neck of their suits. Our Firefly has more than 26k of predecessors. And the last one has number 13k on her nekc. So she already saw death of more than 10k of her omrades before this trio. So sad.

when you think about it penacony was really lighthearted cause no one really got hurt yet. i mean gallhager and misha both knew what they were doing so i think they were chill with it and everyone else was in (reasonably) very little danger with all the super powered and god help we got

They are all clones, doomed to die after few years. The "leader" was going to die soon. The scars on Firefly appeared at the end of the short (after few minutes after she left SAM), however the "adult" one had scars already few seconds after that, indicating she was going to die soon. This scene happened "Amber eras" in the past, when the Swarm was an issue. Probably all the other clones are died, but maybe their armour survived and Firefly can use them.

They're all genetically modified specifically to fight the swarm, and prolly a "mass produced" pseudo clones too, they have their own personalities tho

I would love if we get another playable of firefly brothers and sisters in the future.

Firefly definitely has vibes of Iron Man sacrificing himself by carrying the nuke to the aliens in the first Avengers movie.

It's tragic cause if i recall the lore, Glamoth lost the war to the Swarm or at the very least suffered heavy casualties. So very doubtful any of these characters other than Firefly survived....though the emphasis on the last girl does indicate she may be 'important' if they do release another 'Sam'.

I'm feeling conflicted over this one because it feels like the subtle implication is that they were never able to find each other again but during the special program they kind of asked an open ended question about the possibility of other SAM's being out there somewhere and that makes me want to believe some of them are still alive. Maybe Firefly is their test to see how popular a mech themed character can be and that's what they're going to use to decide whether they make more SAM's in the future? The more I type the more it sounds like cope though . . .

All Fireflies are probably like the Clone Troopers in Star Wars, all were made and cloned for War. Many died for the War. But what will they do after the war? And I'm begging Hoyoverse, please make them all playable characters, don't kill themm! 😭😭

the war has ended Glamoth lose, the surviving SAM are all scattered across the universe, assuming if there really another survivor aside from AR-26710.

Firefly is a survivor of the Glamoth's Iron Cavalry. All SAM' are genetically engineered so that's why they look alike. Her planet was at war with the Swarm and well Glamoth civilization just ceased to exist. So pretty much all of them are dead.

Yep all of them are clone of titania queen of glamoth. They could be controlled thelepatically by titania. That aside i want all sam variant and build team with just sam. Lastly bad thing already happened. All of them except firefly are all already dead. Glamoth did end losing to the swarm. And firefly is the only survivor suspended in cryo sleep for hundreds of years.

I wouldn't be surprised if Honkai killed off the other SAMs (or most of them), but it would be an interesting plot if, for example, a group of SAMs, including Firefly, were cut off from Glamoth, only slow space travel avaliable, so they put themselves into hibernation/cryosleep (whatever their equivalent is) and floated through space for thousands of years until reaching Glamoth once more, only to find ruins, a dead, uninhabited world. For unknown reasons, Firefly woke up first, and perhaps joining the Stellaron Hunters, she seeks to find a cure for Entropy Loss Syndrome, before she wakes up her sisters/brothers still asleep. That would also correlate with the Swarm Diaster having been at least many thousands upon thousands of years ago (albeit we don’t know how long after the main Swarm Disaster that Glamoth might have been fighting remnant descendants of the Swarm), keeping in mind that it was toward the end of the Swarm Disaster that Xipe the Harmony ascended to become an Aeon, and the Swarm Disaster far predates the ancient formation of the Xianzhou Alliance, as well as th Emperor’s War, the eventual ascension of Nanook the Destruction (after his homeworld was attacked by remnants of the Swarm long after the main Swarm Disaster ended), and the start of the Stellaron Crisis. (Not to mention Penacony’s War of Independence and the Eternal Freeze of Jarilo-VI/Belobog, which all happened long after that.)

I feel you Numi but at work I had a scary theory pop in my head. What if the reason Trailblazer cried in the beginning of penacony was not cause of Acheron but because of Firefly my reason to this is everytime we make a warp jump in the astral express we see visions of the future. We were all lead to believe its cause we have a past with Acheron but what if it was a red herring for firefly this whole time especially when looking back at the answers we had when responding to Pom Pom. Also the white night video at the end showing her disappearing as the trailblazer gets up during the sunrise and during the 2.3 trailer all those events with the sparkle bombs took place during the night
