I'm in!! I don't have a TV, I like to watch you tube videos and sometimes amazon prime movies. I have a shell of a facebook account, and go months without looking. Heck, I even leave my phone at home when I go to the gym, and I turn my phone off at night or when I just don't want or need it bothering me. I'm 56 so I grew up long before there was any internet, facebook, twitter (what is that anyway?), instagram (again I don't understand what it is). I can text and use a laptop; believe it or not, I'm actually pretty wealthy . I'm also athletic, travel a lot , and never stop learning . I am guilty of watching a bit too much true crime, so thank you for inspiring me to read a regular book instead of watching click bait. Also, if someone is my friend we will know one another's telephone numbers. I have heard the term DM and I don't even know what that means. Just got back home from a trip to the galapagos a few months ago, planning on going to Australia and New Zealand in a few months. I will purchase the international plan for ATT but not really checking my email or taking idiotic selfies. I go on trips by myself and let others take all the "fab shots" and send them to me so I can spend my time enjoying the moments, instead of attempting to pose for the perfect pic. I also used to use SIRI a lot; I was starting to pick fights with my Australian Siri guy. It was ridiculous. I broke up with him a week ago and feel more calm now for some reason!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I hardly leave comments on KZread but your video couldn't have come at a better time. I've successfully quit Instagram for a few years (no regrets whatsoever) but I've been addicted to KZread since two years ago. It has brought back every bad that I tried to diminish by quitting Instagram: the fomo, the comparisons, watching other people doing my favorite activities instead of actually doing them, motivations that led to nothing, and, of course, a terrible intolerance for anything without immediate visual gratification. i.e: books. I need to either give up KZread completely or strictly redefine my relationship with it because I can't live like this anymore. I'm leaving this comment here because this is gonna be the last KZread video that I watch for a while and I just had to thank you for this amazing idea!

The hard part is part of it is productive (it's helped me a lot in my language learning and learning to play piano) but most of the times I'm mindlessly going video after video with suggestions and especially shorts. I removed the app on my phone to stop me from using, it has helped but I'm either not using it or wasting hours on end. I can't find the balance so I will have to give it up all together.

Thank you for taking the time to share this video! I cannot believe how relatable this is. 😮 from 2012 to 2017 I did not do social media that was five years of my life. I did not think about it I took pictures the old-fashioned way. Family photos that went into my album or up on the fridge to share with the family. For Some reason in 2018, I began to feel like I was missing out- it’s all what people seem to talk about… I decided to give it a try, and that was the start of a downward spiral for me and my partner ! And My kids. I became obsessed with taking photographs off everything. I could not even eat a meal or have a drink without having to snap photographs of it. I used to get upset and very angry if I could not get the perfect picture of myself or my family. We used to have blazing rows because I would get so stressed out. When I did post a picture I was constantly looking at my phone every two minutes! This caused problems for my friends and family that I was with at the time, but most of all for myself and my mental health. It was like a magnetic pull. My mind could not settle. The only way I can describe it is that an addict needing that fix. I was never present in the moment with the people around me I feel I missed out! I was that obsessed about trying to catch the memory that I actually missed out on the moment. This went on and off for around 3 years but eventually I realised the significant harm, this was having on my mental health, not only on mine but on that of my family also. Not only was it, robbing me of my peace but also my privacy. Special moments with family and my time! The amount of time that I have was wasted scrolling other peoples pictures and for what? Absolutely nothing !!! I can honestly say that is me done with social media now…. I honestly wish it didn’t exist. Life was so much better when I was growing up in the 90s I would do anything to go back to them days when all this tech did not exist.

KZread is not just a part of social media; it is a social media behemoth." According to the experts it is. Sorry. IF it isn't why are you commenting with an account. KZread is considered social media because it incorporates many of the key characteristics that define social media platforms. Here's why KZread falls under the social media category: 1. **User-Generated Content:** Like other social media platforms, KZread relies on content created by its users rather than traditional content creators or media companies. Users can upload videos on a wide range of topics, sharing their knowledge, opinions, and creative work with a global audience. 2. **Community and Interaction:** KZread fosters a sense of community among users. Viewers can interact with content creators and each other through comments, likes, and shares. This interaction is a core aspect of the social media experience, allowing for discussions, feedback, and engagement directly with the content and its creators. 3. **Personalization and Recommendations:** KZread uses algorithms to recommend videos to users based on their viewing history, preferences, and behavior on the platform, similar to how social media platforms suggest content, friends, or pages to follow. This personalization enhances user engagement and keeps individuals connected to the platform. 4. **Networking and Social Graphs:** Although primarily a platform for video content, KZread also allows users to follow channels, subscribe to content creators, and receive notifications about new content. This creates a network of connections, akin to following friends or pages on other social media sites. 5. **Accessibility and Sharing:** KZread videos are easily shared across other social media platforms and websites, contributing to the viral spread of content. The platform's integration with various web and mobile technologies makes it a central part of the wider social media ecosystem. 6. **Profile and Identity:** Users on KZread can create profiles, customize their channels, and develop an online identity. This presence is similar to how individuals present themselves on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. In summary, KZread's combination of user-generated content, community engagement, personalization, and networking capabilities places it firmly within the realm of social media. It differs from traditional media outlets by empowering users to be both consumers and producers of content, facilitating social interaction and community building online.

I absolutely love this idea! Initially I was on the fence of joining the no scroll club because honestly I have an unhealthy attachment to social media and also I have this weird fear of failure to fulfill my goals and new year's resolutions. It happens every year that I want to change something about my life but then a few months later I go back to my old habits and give up on my initial motivation. I have a hard time committing to something and then sticking to it for more than at least a few weeks. But this time I'm determined to stick with no scrolling and wasting time on social media. I think this is such a good way to start off the year. Thank you for inspiring me to stop my social media addiction, Mel. Wishing you all the best this 2024! This club is going to be so helpful.

I don't think social media is the best place to find motivation because everyone's posting about their successes; by default you'll feel like a failure in comparison. Hopefully by leaving social media we'll be able to tackle our goals with more optimism. Happy you decided to join in the end. :))

You are not wrong actually I mean part of the issue with people posting their sccuess on social media is that it's extremely edited and you don't see the failures or hard work or they put it or if you do it's very sugar coated and if you try to figure out how they did it. They give you a sugar coated answer at best because they don't know how to answer that since to them thier sccues is just normal. I mean honestly social media feels like high school in some ways because you only see a small part of thier lives and don't see the full picture of how they can struggle in things.

Whenever I'm off it, I feel like I've activated ultra instinct and make the right decisions in life and even involve myself in the work that I don't like doing. Thank you so much 💗 I just deleted all of my social media apps and KZread from my home, only left KZread music. For a long time I was searching a way to disable KZread shorts but I couldn't find, I never knew there is such an extension Unhook KZread! So I ended up deleting the app from my phone but leaving it on firefox with disabling sidebar suggestions, shorts etc.! Let's begin with our journey. I really want to return back to my life interests. I'm 18 years old and in past I was such less anxious person, however, with my increased scroll time I developed so high social anxiety and I am sure I will be back to normal Fatima in this journey.

social media has a vice grip on me rn. i am on it for HOURS at a time. those testimonies at the beginning of the video fit my life so perfectly. i feel like a shell. i’m walking through water, my head is in fog. my only exception for social media is following bands that i like. my favorite artist is small and doesn’t have a news letter and the other one rarely uses it. so i’ve unfollowed all pages that aren’t close friends or the bands coming from 760 pages down to 10. i also set a 15 minute a day limit where it’ll lock me out. all i need is the time to see if they’ve posted or not. al other social media is GONE. i’m ready to take back my life.

Hello there! I stumbled upon your video while contemplating my own personal feelings regarding Instagram as an oil painter. When you mentioned that the platform was killing your creativity and peace, I completely resonated! I haven't enjoyed sharing on Instagram for over a year now because I feel like I am being pressured into being an art vending machine, not a creative spirit sharing their joyful projects. I'm searching for new creative corners of the internet that are good for my mental health and welcoming towards art that is created slowly.

I really plan to participate with you in this challenge for at least a month, and the only exception will be KZread for learning (of course, with the cancellation of scrolling and shorts), and I will only follow Telegram. I will document my experience on Snapchat. I really want to live in reality without comparisons or living with the ideas and lives of other people. I love the nature of ancient people who live in the countryside simply for the fact that they are cut off from the developed and dispersed world, even if that has some negatives, at least they are genuinely happy and live in the moment. Sometimes I feel that we have forgotten who we are, our dreams, our ambitions, and even our true talents. I don't think this experience will harm me as much as it will benefit me .

I practically quit Faceplant. It took me two years to extricate myself. I was also active, ran several groups, the works. However, KZread is also social media. Back to Face, posts are futile. Political posts, when they don't get you unfriended or cancelled, are NOT action. And getting likes is deceptive. No one really cares about me, not even my family. You are just a source to them, whatever you provide. I worked for 4 months to pay my mom's taxes, and then she dismissed me in a single conversation. Whether it's money, or attention, people only want to receive, these days, not give, and it's the same for you whether you accept that or not.

Thanks for watching! I had maybe $2000 in my bank account when I left the States. I really didn't save up much beforehand, but I had some money flowing in from books/KZread/freelancing so things weren't too tight. Would definitely advise others to save up more of a buffer if possible, but at the same time...when are you ever fully ready? Sometimes you just have to take the leap. Things have a way of working out.

I only have Instagram and Facebook. I do take intermittent breaks throughout the year. Breaks can last anywhere from a few weeks to a month. I’m also off social media almost every weekend. In early December of 2023 I took down my Facebook and Instagram app, and reinstalled it again in late January mostly because of business. So I would basically go on my my business social media pages, post and leave. Just a few weeks ago around the 2nd week of February 2024 I got back on my personal social media pages and made several posts, engaged in other people’s posts, and a few days ago (as of this writing) I decided to take another break until at least the start of Spring. I’ve posted enough content on my business social media, so being away from it for a few weeks is no big deal. I truly believe that our brains are not designed to view so much information on social media in a short period of time without having negative effects. I didn’t miss being away from social media, and made the decision to be off social media more than being on in 2024 and focus my attention on more high value activities.

I love the No Scroll Club journey! Almost 3 weeks ago, I've quit Facebook, Instagram and Threads. The only platforms I use are KZread and Reddit, but that's for listening to music and reading/watching tutorials (art, music, etc.). After getting rid of the apps (Facebook, Instagram, and Threads) off of my phone and logging off from my desktop, it was a relief. Now, I can concentrate on many of the hobbies I'm getting back to. I have taken social media breaks in the past, btw.

the thing is, once you realise how many more important things there are in life and that there is so much that the world has to offer where these things are smaller than dust and are so trivial you really start to portray world in a new and better way, the real problem is people having their priorities wrong and not being able to identify and distinguish whats so very vast and substantial and things like social media just dont matter even a single bit.
