I’m Overwhelmed Raising My Teen Daughters Alone! | KARAMO

16-year-old Aniyah says she’s been helping provide for the household since she was a pre-teen but has no real bonding time with her mother Christina. 13-year-old Aliyah says she’s struggling in school and gets no attention from their mom. These out-of-control teens are yearning for a connection with their busy single mother. Can Karamo help give this family the tools they need to rebuild?

She’s definitely not a good mom. If this was a father she be labeled dead beat. Her 16yr daughter is playing adult & having to pay for her moms mistakes. Not cool! She’s blaming her children for her depression & talking about herself. She’s selfish. Absolutely she’s not a good mother. Her 16yr has to work & fulfill her mothers duties cause she sleeps all day. 3 jobs @ 16!!! That shouldn’t be her burden. She chose to get pregnant at 17, this is not something that’s happening to her, this is a life she created & unfortunately she dragged her kids into her mistakes & depression. It’s not fair to her children. If she depressed. Therapy. I don’t care about her motions because she’s very self directed.

Some people become parents and think parenting is just providing food and shelter. I have one kid here on Earth with me. She is my rainbow baby and 15 now. I’ve learned that my parenting had to evolve. She don’t have siblings or cousins near by. I had to become her “good sis” as well as her mom. She will tell you I’m strict but reasonable, I hold her accountable. She tells me her secrets and her friend’s secrets lol. Also I had to go on disability in 2020 after Covid almost killed me. Medicare and medical is no way to live. One med I’m taking was the only one I could get Medicare to cover. Well it caused loss of hearing.

When I first became a single mother I was hurt, angry, depressed, and the list goes on. I was always yelling at my children for minor issues not realizing it was drastically affecting my children. It was also creating a toxic household. My son was "acting out, not listening, and misbehaving" I did not realize he was also mimicking my behavior. After putting both him and me in therapy and working on myself I've seen a huge change in everyone's behavior including my own. This mom has to put in the necessary work to heal herself so that she can become the mother these beautiful young ladies need. We as mothers often neglect our needs emotionally, mentally, and physically which makes it hard on our children. As long as we (parents) are good, our child(ren) will be good. I hope this family heals and find the love they all so desperately need.

The mom needs to really step it up. She speaks of her issues. True, it must all be so difficult, but she has to get it together for them. They are teens and trouble unfortunately awaits teens, especially girls. If the 13 yr old walks the streets late at night, wake up, don't take a pm pill, Do something now before it is too late. The girls seem like decent girls, but in pain. If mom continues to sleep, shirk responsibilities, show favoritism over the older, ignore the baby who said she is not shown any attention, etc.. those girls are going to be in for a really tough time. If the "right " attentive man comes along, it may be all over for them. She needs to wake up, get her head out of the sand, stay up at night, get up in the morning, watch, communicate, listen, learn humility, seek Gods help and just get her self in gear ASAP, so they have a fighting chance. Before the older girl could really speak, mom was over talking her , being rude and ignorant with me,me , me! talk! Not that her points are not valid, but the girls points are the heart of the matter NOW. They can't fully do for themselves yet, They need mom.!!!! PLEASE mom, be awake, aware, alive and present BEFORE the enemy in its many forms, comes to get them !! In Jesus. Amen. Best.

This mom is burned out. As parents "especially single moms", we have so much to carry. We carry everyone's burdens and still have to find the time to work on ourselves. And having teenagers that "think" they grown or know it all adds even more stress. I can say that the 16yr is very mature and I think she understands the load that her mom carries which is why she is willing to work. The 13yr old is simply acting out and needs to be surrounded by love and support because at that age, it is hard to "make" them do anything. I'm praying that this mom finds strength and get herself some support as well. Hugs and prayers for this beautify family. #LOVEISTHEMEDICINE

That mama got this, I can see the determination, she wants to change & get better for her girls & I love that. The older girl is well put together, working at 16 & well spoken! The younger one does need more attention & love & she too will be alright, very well spoken when it came to her feelings & I love that. I am not done watching the video yet, but i just wanna say that both the Mom and her children are valid in their feelings. People do not understand what it truly means to be a single mom. No support, the weight of finances, taking care of their children, a role meant for two is completely on you, single mom's sacrifice their own self care for their children, this mother being overwhelmed is beyond valid. She is struggling with depression too. On the other hand, these children never asked for a single mom, they came to this world needing love needing support needing guidance, they need their mothers love, and they are being forced to grow up early. all people involved deserve support and grace, and i hope no one is judging just one party.

I relate so much to this my momma died at age 3-5 and I live with my auntie and, she always talks over me I don’t even have to be yelling or talking smart, when I get one word out my mouth she talks over me. Recently I confronted her and told her she tells me not to talk over her but you do me like that all time. She got mad and said she can do that because she’s grown even though it’s not right. And she was like when she starts talking I have to shut up . She does that even when I start talking first or try to explain myself.💯I also felt when she talked about her mom never asks us how her day is. My auntie is like that and was like that when I was growing up living with her, I’d have things to talk about from me being bullied or other things but she’d always be on the phone, or she’d say not right now and then later wouldn’t say anything. Id always ask about her. you couldn’t even as k her about anything or tell her about your mental health .

Hey I understand because I lived with my grandma and aunt since I was born and the reason your aunt treats you that way is not because she is grown and i'm certain she has told you even to this day as an adult if you are one to stay in a childs place. I am 31 my aunt still says that too me anytime I speak to her she just yells at me she will curse me out and hang the phone up call me back apologize then curse me out again. Your aunt anger to you is because she was jealous of your mother she was probably not given the same attention as your mom or not as pretty or both now here you come along and you remind her of her in personality traits and appearance and she doesnt like you! My other aunt via marriage who married my uncle who is my aunt I lived with brother she told me she felt bad for me and only let me stay with them when my grandma died a few years ago because the only person who ever loved me has died and eventhough she loved me she did not like me. Why would she say that I never understood why until now because she been in my family since shes like 14 years old shes been their before I ever was born she felt the same way about me that my actual aunt did and that hurt but I am just letting you know you didnt do nothing wrong they just didnt like your mother and the hatred is very bad that aunt via marriage when I woke her up one night and I told her I got a call my mom had been in a coma and was dying she looked at me and went back to sleep never cared at all my mom died. They need to do somethings together like go to church and seek God, he is the ultimate helper, and there are young people in church that can encourage your daughters. God Bless you and I will be praying for your family. I know the struggles of being a single mom and moving from place to place with my children, they are grown now and they take care of me as if I were a queen because we lived through the pain together, and in the end they don't blame me, I beat myself enough for our hardships, but I never gave up.

You are training children to be adults, but they are still children. I know, oh too well, about getting tired. Stay strong! I was in the same boat, but I pray that MOM keeps fighting to stay engaged. I am a witness, there is fun at the end of the road. BIG FUN!

I know how that goes. I’m a single mom to 5 boys and have tried to be mom, dad, best friend, disciplined, etc., and it never seems like enough with my 5 boys either. It is tough and I just do my best and try to keep communication open. My sons are now between 18-32 now, but they are good sons and respect everyone, but it just seems like their girlfriends and friends are more important than me.

Kids are supposed to grow up and have their own lives, they aren't your husband or wife. Fill your own life with things you enjoy doing. You are their mother not their friend.

Yes they have their own lives, but if they don’t call you ever, text you, etc.. we mothers tend to worry. They call their dad and do things with him (which he only saw the kids when it was convenient for him) I was the one to take care of them 24/7. They could call me at least once a month. That is all I ever asked for. I like keeping in contact with my adult children, if you guys don’t kudos for you. Everyone is different. All I want to know is if they are ok and that they live or even care about me to call me once a month. Only time they do call is if they want something from me, whether it is money, baby sit, or if they bring their laundry over will I do it. Otherwise I don’t hear from them.

@@danielleharding3605 there's nothing wrong with how you're feeling especially since you were the main one to take care of them..... I pray it gets better, maybe plan a get-together with your boys and let them know how u feel, not over the phone but face to face. Not sure if u all live by one another but that could be a start. I have 3 boys of my own and with my oldest being 23 I know it'll be time soon that he will be spreading his wings.... With him working and going to school all I could do is be there for him as much as I can Period 💯💯💯💯💯 I'm just so afraid because whether anyone wants or likes ro hear they are allllll my babies and it's so hard hearing stories where young adults almost to completely X their Mom's out their lives once they go into adulthood and start their families 😫 I lost my Mom at the age of 17 so I never got to experience having a Mom during all of my teen to adult years at all which still affects me till this day so I constantly tell anyone that I come into contact with as well as my boys to ALWAYS cherish the moments u have with your Mom's because u ONLY have ONE💯💯💯💯💯 I know with prayers and faith that at the end of the day everything will be alright cause u know what Danielle Harding they will ALWAYS remember the luv u had for each and every one of them, believe me cause I do regarding my Mom and it's been over 20yrs!!!!! They will NEVER forget the luv and sacrifices u made for them and that should make u smile💖💖💖💖💖💖 Just relax and see how God works💕💕💕💕💕💕

@Danielle Harding so you don't have a good relationship with them. Maybe you should directly ask them why they connect with dad and not you. Sometimes parents nag their children too much or are too negative so the kids avoid them. It's obvious their is a reason for their actions towards you. If All of them are doing it there must be a reason but you have to be willing to discuss your feelings with them. For example everytime I met a guy my mom would automatically get sad and lament how the guy was going to take my money and house..she was so depressing. So I would do things and never tell her to avoid drama. Sometimes kids want to avoid conflict.

This was so sad because people judge mothers like me who have 8 children, I can say Thank you Jesus because I always had all 8 of my kids living with me ( no grandparents or other family) my kids are up to date with their medical needs and I sit down and talk to my kids and let them express themselves and I show my kids I love them and also tell them. Every female is not meant to be a mother.

This is why I don’t want to be a single mother by choice because realistically, you can’t expect for one person to fill all the roles and then it’s like if they start acting out or bad then they wanna put the blame on you for being a single mother and that’s fucked up . Cause you can be thinking your doing a good job but they ( your kids ) feel like your not. Single mothers have go through alot and I don’t want to put myself though this. Single mothers don’t get appreciated enough everyone just talks about what they lack , it’s sad tbh .
