What really gets me is when you find a really cool DC Multiverse toy that you want the resale amount is so high you can't afford it

I completely understand. It's not much better in Canada. All I wanted more than anything last year was a Knightfall Batman, and I could not get him. The pre-sale window in US retailers was so short that I sneezed and missed it, and no Canadian retailers ever got it for order at the MSRP . That figure would have been the lynch pin in my attempt to collect a Justice League for my shelf. Without him, I had no reason to continue. This was further complicated by all the mediocre Superman headsculpts.

Honestly given all the scalpers, it's not great in the United States either. And I live on the fringes of a major city so it seems like the scalpers always get to stores before me. Or the stores near me just never receive products in the first place, according to the workers.

Is there anything about McFarlane’s DC Multiverse line that’s consistent? Distribution? Pricing? Supply and demand? The quality of the figures themselves? There are days where I think McFarlane loves the DC license like no other, and there are days where I think it’s a chore that he’d rather not be bothered with. There are McFarlane DC Multiverse figures that I absolutely love, and there are DC Multiverse figures that I wouldn’t pay $5 for if they came with a $10 Amazon gift card. It can be a challenging line to collect, even when you’re far from a completionist.

Your comment pretty much sums it up. Some figures I've not bought even on deep discount because they looked like they would break right out of the package.

I must say, this is what happens when there is incredibly high demand. Comic Shop owner I know says that smaller stores get like 2 boxes, where Amazon and the like get many. They sell out in minutes.

The high demand is fomo. Midfarlane is making figures in low print numbers which causes them to sell out fast which makes people believe they're more popular than they are

It’s not so much high demand for McFarlane figures it’s the high demand for classic looking McFarlane figures. The guy also create so much trash that nobody really wants Knife Batman, hard to find classic Wunder action figure hard to find a lot of the classic figures from McFarlane are the ones that are hard to find

Distribution is really bad on East coast in USA. WEST coast seems to get everything first and more waves of it. There’s always the most skimpy distribution for new waves on the East coast, retailers will get a little b it and if you snooze you lose out on getting scalped figured for MSRP. I’ve been lucky getting most platinums but it’s getting ridiculous overall

If distribution is bad in the UK it's pretty bad here in the US. I have yet to find a website that has all of Todd McFarlane's DC Multiverse listed

Little tip, but while the Forbidden Planet Megastores have the peg warmers left if you can get to the smaller stores semi regularly you can usually pick up most of the new releases.

I live in the US and I can tell you one thing for sure and that's if you don't pre-order the first day your out of luck. I pre-ordered the 89 batmobile a few days after they went on sale and after a 6 month wait I canceled my order. It is very hit a miss with them. Plus they need to stop making figures that no one cares about and focus on stuff collectors want .

100% this!! We couldn’t even order the 89 Batmobile as it was an Amazon US exclusive so shipping fees made it too expensive to order from there.

Mcfarlane dc figures are hard to find here in the U.S. too and they sellout quickly and hard to find especially the gold label 🏷 store exclusives and the past dozen Mcfarlane figures I've gotten I've had to get from canada and cost me after shipping around 35$ usd total...hopefully things get better for you guys overseas and I hate to hear people not being able to collect what they want just because logistics

I can totally understand, I know since last summer I've been trying to find out if the 3" DC page Puncher line is still going, and when wave 5 is supposed to come out, but the only continuation of that line has been the Stranger Things and GiJoe and Transformers 2 packs. And I'm in the states. =(

I recommend going with the whole shebang theyre yk based. Got the ML deadpool legacy figure within 3 days😁 I'm not saying you'll get your neca figures sooner but no harm in looking it up🤷‍♂️happy hunting 👍all the best from Scotland

@@Christian_Ada1 2 Target stores, a Walmart, and even the Walgreens near my house but to be honest that one never had much of anything anyways and made you wait in line for about 3 hours to fill a prescription. All wiped out of figures.

In Croatia it's even worse. No brick and mortar options, only through online retailers. The TWO online retailers who sell DC Multiverse stuff used to get everything in spades, including Gold Label stuff, but in the past year it just completely died off. The stock these stores get now are movie figs and those weird variants nobody wants like Patina or Frostbite or the sketch series etc. And you can forget about bargain resellers, that concept just does not exist. And you can definitely forget about importing because the shipping cost alone basically doubles the cost of these toys, and that's without import tax. It's a horrible experience trying to get any of these toys, and that's why I made the switch to Legends last month. Screw Todd and his 90s ways.

Completely agree! I think it’s got worse since they got the online store up and running, their argument being well if you can’t get it from anywhere else, get it directly from us, completely ignoring that we’d have to pay shipping, taxes and custom charges, like you say doubling the cost of the actual figures!!

That means there was already shipping, customs and then profit for both heo and your local retailer you were paying. McFarlane is an american company, thats where they're making their bulk of sales. Its likely that there wasnt even some distribution in place for UK and other small markets, some local stores were just buying stuff themselves. Best move is to just buy their stuff from Ali Express. It's probably gonna be comparable to what you spent on the local retailer and there's no customs or other taxes because sellers on Ali Express write your package as gift and they declare an insignifiant sum for it, so it bypasses any taxes. I just buy my figures, they get shipped and a local courier service delivers them to me when they enter my country.

@@DarkDekicDuka There are no KOs for McF figures. Ali Express is a website like ebay or amazon US, it's not one singular store. Its a website with tens of thousands of local chinese stores or individual sellers so they can sell internationally. Every store has a general rating, items that are purchased have ratings, with text and pictures on ocassion. You read what other poeple who bought from a particular shop say and you go from there. One thing to note is that Ali Express is not a place for cheap stuff. If a Mafex figure launched in Japan for lets say $65 and you have to add another $15 for shipping, that's gonna be about $100-120 on Ali Express. If you see that same figure on Ali Express, same with ebay or amazon, for $10 for example, it's self explanatory that its a bootleg, probably made by the same factory workers after hours, but skipping all the QA steps. Genuine figures are either at retail price or higher. I usually end up paying about the same as my local retailer has them, $30-35. I actually got the Bane 2 pack today, i ordered may 30th, for around $90. That pack wasn't even put for future sale on my local figure stores and it would have been $100 very likely

I've been starting to feel the same this year... but still wanting some figures that I want 😮‍💨 The amounts US to UK is ridiculous after only just relieving pre-order! For example, Batman (BvS) is available for £18.99 at McFarlane US Shop but yoy will have to add pay around £25 delivery to UK ...I only find this figure in UK online for £24.99 or locate random eBay trying to sell £45+ 😟 there are some place I find Europe online shops for £19.99/£22.99 but I need to cover delivery £6.99+....... UK is just weak 😔

B&m are carrying mcfarlane dc /witcher/warhammer figures. I picked up lobo for £9.99 a few days ago😁 Keeping my eye out for the devastator🤞

This is why I don't collect modern action figures, they are just to difficult to find at a decent price, especially here in the Netherlands. Everything is so expensive its more cost effective for me to focus upon vintage stuff.

Every time I've gone to the Target in my area within the last 4 months, I've just seen the same entire shelf of discounted figures of the McFarlane Flash in the collectible section. One time there was an Arkham R'as Al Ghul mixed in for $9, but I don't like most of the video game designs so I passed on getting him. We also seem to have gotten exactly a case of the newest wave of build-a-figures [the Lock-Up ones], because I saw just about all the figures one week and the next they were gone. Aside from that Radar Batman nobody wants. The Condiment King wave took slower to sell out, but mid-June and they've all disappeared too. On occasion I'll see the Batman or blue Superman from the 90's JLA wave. Haven't gotten anything new since then.

It’s amazing how difficult they are to find, given how much product McFarlane releases, there’s barely a day without an announcement of new figures! Perhaps if they’d concentrated on quantity of existing figures rather than just pumping out product and Batman variants?? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Its crazy to see how most of the mcfarlane figures sold out in the usa are for very cheap prices and huge amounts here at mexico, for like 5 months batman knightfall was being sold for 15 dollars, maybe mexican sellers are getting all the mcfarlane figures 😂😂😂

Amazon has been dead when it comes to MacFarlane toys, they used to have all their new stuff

I have no problem finding these, even the platinums. Super powers, page punchers, Batman 66 etc.....all available. 3 Brainiac platinums sitting at the store for more than a week. I only buy Batman related, so 90 percent of McFarlane line.

Blah blah blah, only losers quit. I have tons of trouble getting figures at decent prices because they don't show up at the stores I shop at. I watch KZreadrs "finding" these nice figures at their stores and boy am I steamed sometimes. But I don't give up. I keep searching and sometimes I find what I'm looking for, not all the time but I'm happy of what find. Don't give up.

I agree with you man and most of the stuff if I can't find it I can go find it online but I must say I have heard that it's harder to find these figures outside the United States a thing McFarland is just getting overwhelmed because they're growing too fast I think everybody's jumping on these and now I think he's about to take on marvel Legends he already does a lot of stuff for Disney and they own marvel now and I've been telling people for 2 years that they're going to end up going with McFarland for their comic stuff. But now that this is happening I think Disney might take a better look at this and see if they will be able to handle how many marvel Legends are sold each year because if they can't keep up with the DC I don't think they're going to keep up with marvel.

Those are the US duties and tax which is why, for the UK, we get an additional pop up that says UK customs charges will be £6.90 which adds to the cost. Of course, there’s always the chance it slips through UK customs but am I going to take that chance for a £20 figure??

I’ve only ordered a full wave from their store so the shipping to the UK wasn’t as big of a deal. Comic and cocktails has been stocking new stuff too but yeah buying individual figures from mcfarlane is expensive

And Marvel Legends and GIJOE?

All I heard was complaining about figures that don’t even reach $50 in price cuz in all honesty many aren’t just into the McFarlane DC line. If u think that’s bad, don’t get into Marvel Legends cuz u def won’t be able to handle those prices and how more harder it is to preorder.

First off not true I have way more trouble acquiring certain figures from Mcfarlane. Actually quite a lot The only trouble I’ve had collecting from Marvel legends was the warbird that just came out but other than that, I’ve never had a problem, getting marvel, legends figures You might want to try sounding a bit less disingenuous
