Thanks! They take a lot of pride in it
Wow, your parent's property is beautifully landscaped. Certainly a full time job to keep it maintained and looking good.
Great job, Adam! I don't think that alot of people understand just how much work goes into a major landscaping project.
Add a small pond update to every video 😮
Wow. Nice job! Great parents! Make the stairs as wide as possible. Good luck!
Hi Adam, your building memories, whenever you looks at this landscape you’ll see your Parents Gift of Skill and Knowledge. As others have stated your Parents home and landscaping is Picture Perfect and could be a real Inspiration to anyone who sees it. Well Done 😀👍👍👍
Your parents have a stunning yard. Love the project, Adam. Looking good. 👌
Looks awesome, man. Love using boulders from around the property like that. Cutting out maintenance where you can is huge. Pond is looking good too!

Less maintenance is is always best
Jaw dropping yard your parents have! Hats off!
The problem with rock is that the sun heats it up and it can fry your plants quickly. Also, mulch breaks down and provides nutrients to the plants, rocks obviously don’t. Make sure you keep a close eye on your shrubs. Water them regularly and fertilize as needed.
Nice that you have your parents to help with all the work around you house. Stay safe.
Beautiful landscaping. Kuddos to your parents. Great job Adam.
Looks Great Adam! Your parents place looks like something out of landscape magazine. Beautiful!! Looks like the pond is filling up nicely also>
Really shaping up nicely! Your parent’s home is beautiful!
Looks like you got help/advice from some professionals! Your parents' place looks amazing. Great vision and execution.
Your parents' place is incredible, i just moved into our new house and just dirt around the foundation, so starting where they were 32 years ago.
Looks Great! I hear you about having some equipment to help out around the property. A wheelbarrow and a shovel works, but doesn't hold a candle to a mini excavator! Enjoying your series on the homestead. Looks like you pond issue finally solved. Cheers! - Mike
Looks very nice Adam!
Looks great. Your parents house is remarkable.
Looks great Adam ❤😊😮
Hi Adam, your place is always on point. Your parents home is very very nice. Landscaping is just too much upkeep.
Looks sweet Adam. I think you'll be happy with it.
Your parent’s yard looks great!
Outstanding landscaping!!!!!
THAT is going to look NICE! Something that will help in the rocks w/ weeds is a preemergent in the late spring/ early summer (before germination ground temp). PREEN is one. I use them every year on multiple types of surface (stone, soil, mulch). Does the job.
Your folks place is look amazing! Next time dive in the pond boots and all! We'll deserved. Great video.
Looks like the pond is starting to fill up and holding water.
Your parents are very, very talented!
The result looks great Adam.
A nice family project. Lots of work, with help from folks with an experienced, artistic eye. 👍👍
Nice job Adam. It looks very nice. Looks like you had some pretty good help too. Stay safe and healthy. Bill H from Cranberry Township
Thanks, Adam! Nice little video to begin my Sunday! Stay well, stay safe!
Your parents were smart landscape artists by not putting shrubs around the pool because they promote bugs around a pool. Beautiful property your parents have & a huge help to your property! 🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Adam, this looks awesome and is a great idea! Your parents have an awesome place too. I can definitely see how you wanted their help. Great video pal.
Great job!!! Thats awesome your mom and dad was helping!
*Hometown Acres* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
New to your channel been binge-watching. Here in Southern Oklahoma I have used cross ties to build retaining wall that look awesome and work. Your property is really nice.
Rock wall is shaping up nicely. Your parents yard is a testament to their obvious love, care, and passion for what is a beautiful home and garden. Something that I aspire to have one day. Would love to see a garden interview with them both, explaining their landscaping choices and what they have learned over the years. Would be an inspiration!!! Looking forward to the next instalment of Hometown 😊
I cannot imagine doing this project without that machine. makes moving those large rocks effortless. I like the idea of no more mulch also! outside of watering the plants and weed trimming, you are set for a long time. this will really make the front of the house look great!
Starting to look real nice. Love the stairs idea! You really are Starting to operate that excavator smooth and precise!!
People have mentioned that this is not maintenance free but it is low maintenance. On a yearly basis we spray our rocks and when the weeds die off and get really dry a quick pass with a propane “rosebud” and the debris is gone. It won’t harm the live plants if you keep it moving. Also, I was fully thinking one of the rounder rocks would scoot away from you and become a monument at the pond. LOL
Everything you do is so satisfying... love your content
Stairs made out of railway sleepers (ties) would fit in nicely...
Wow! I am in awe of what your folks accomplished over the years with that landscaping. It looks like a fulltime job and is impressive.
Love the rock. Thats what we did for a border around our house.
Great video Adam! It’s really coming together. It’s nice that you have all the footage that you can refer back to. As the kiddos grow and mature you landscaping is bound to fill in and mature as well. You’ll be able to fine tune it as well. Your parents home and landscaping is nothing short of photo shoot. It’s just breathtaking. See you in the next installment.

It's looking great, Adam. Your parents certainly do have an eye for landscaping. Their home is gorgeous.
Looks great.
Your parents have a beautiful place!! Once everything take ahold y'alls place will look even more awesome. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Must be a firewood splitting marathon coming up soon to get all those logs processed? Pond is looking mint as well 👌
You’re about the same as our kids and we do all we can to help them Out just like your parents do. Great looking results. And fyi mulch emits a scourge called artillery or shotgun fungus that shoots out about 20 feet and gets all over whatever is within its range. It will not pressure wash off nor even scratch off.
Looks good, shaping up nicely
Both yards are beautiful!! Do y'all use Preen? It works wonders for us!! We use the black paper with Preen sprinkled on soil first, & then sprinkle it again every couple of months & don't have weeds!! 🙌💃🙌 Your mom & dad are really naturals on landscaping!! Your videos are just great - so entertaining & interesting always!! 👍God bless y'all! 🙏💕🙏

Your parents yard is great looking
Looks awesome!
Looks great!!
Brilliant.. looking great
Super awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Great job Adam. I've wondered many times how I ever made it without an excavator.
Looks great good job.
Beautiful! I love it! Can't wait to see it finished!
You have done a great job. You have also made the same mistake most people make by planting your shrubs too close to the building. They will grow.
Beautiful !
looking good! love your parents place
Looks great and so does the pond!
When you put in the stairs consider ptting in a ramp for wheelchairs, atv/ golf cart, wheeled coolers, trash cans etc.The ramp will be used more than you think. It could cross the stairs as a landing. Also will give access to the stones and plants. Ask your parents about mobility issues as people age. They are probably starting to see it in their contemporaries.
Your folks are beasts - in the best way! Pond looks good.
It's nice that your parents are still around and able to help you. Good plan for the slope, it'll age well.
I did the same thing last year. The wife wasn't so sure but as I do everything outside and as you mentioned mulching sucks, lol. A piece of cake to maintain.
Looks like everything is falling into place, especially with your parent''s landscaping skills!!!
hi there well done . best to all john
"Bring us... A SHRUBBERY!"
Looks real nice! Great deal your folks like to help! Have you thought about granite steps up to your home? Might look nice…
Many hands (and an excavator) make light work! Looks sharp dude!
Your parents don't have landscaping. They do landscaping. Wow! You had expert help.
Adam, your excavator skills have come on leaps and bounds. Keep up the great work Bud.
Your parents yard, Amazing.
I prefer river stone and fabric to mulch. In 2 years the mulch will become soil and weeds everywhere. Great job all the same you are a hard worker.
Retention walls with appropriate drainage, cleverly hidden by the boulders would last for generations. Also, the stairway could have become a part of the overall retention structure. I worry that you may be dealing with hydrostatic pressure and earth movement, with earth pushing behind, and then flowing over the large stones.
looking good Adam👍, also you're looking a bit red with sunburn.🌞
Nice job.
I wouldn't complain if I never had to spread mulch again.
It would be interesting to see a cost comparison of what you did it for vs adding in the labor and equipment overhead you have as well.
Whoever did that gas meter should be ashamed. Things crooked as all hell! But landscape looks good! Nice job!
smart move ADAM your parents know what works!
Great video Adam. Tom could put some nice concrete steps in there for you
Should get some pea gravel to fill in the weed barrie next to the garage
Hey Adam could you please do a firewood stand update

Just on how it has been doing and do you still has that one at Doug’s
Both properties look great! From ohio
I agree…. Spraying rock is better than spreading mulch✅👌👍
Under ground the rain gutter downspouts, with solid pipe, never use corrugated, underground, lay open pipes, under any hardscape for future water electricity lines
Hardware is the way to go. But give a round of applause to your parents fine job at there landscape because it looks good!
All those hours you've put in on that excavator really show, even if you rented an excavator for this project you wouldn't be able to put those boulders down with as much precision as you were doing it. And those rocks will only look better as it rains and washes some of the dirt off of them.
Nice job. Although, if it was in Europe, you would have built the stair out of split boulders 😅
Maybe add some Lavender and a few Hosta to add some color on the slope?
@AdamsMom921

We picked out a few flowering ones. Spirea and weigelia but the lavender may do well there. Our hosta need some shade or they brown up… I don’t think they will do good as that slope gets beat with sun most of the day. We need plants that are very drought tolerant. It’s going to be a work in progress. 😊

Not hosta - they're like candy to deer.
Nice job! Your parents must have to put in a ton of time weeding & mulching…though it looks phenomenal Good choice on your part to go with rock & weed killer when needed Have a Day
