Exactly ! Indonesia has so much more to offer ! I really enjoyed Sumbawa and Flores, but Lombok is the perfect place to live for me at the moment.

I found mine through a contact. Beside networking a lot with locals, Facebook is the second best option to find a place.

Two comments - that floor with mixed tile designs is very Indonesian - I’m sure you know that by now - you see the mixing of patterns and styles like that all over Bali and Lombok and Java… it’s like ‘a local thing’ mixing patterns like that. Second comment: girl you want your garden in a sunny spot, not in the shade. A lot of plants require hours of daily sun exposure to properly develop and mature. They will grow in shady areas but they won’t do well and fruiting plants (like tomatoes or peppers) may not develop mature fruits… Just sayin’ …sunshine. My favorite area of Lombok is the NW coast around Senggigi - you see the worlds very best sunsets there - watching the Sun set behind Bali, it’s breathtaking! Senggigi is going to become a famous ‘destination’ resort in coming years as travelers become more aware of it… see it now before it becomes the ‘next Bali.’

Thank you Friedrich! For now I only have a visa for 6 months and I'm only renting the house, so it's easy for me. To buy a property, is a little more complicated and it needs some paperwork. I can give you a contact if you want to know more !

I love Indonesia and Lombok is perfect for me. It's calm, the nature is beautiful and it's convenient for me : it's close to Bali, there is an expat community...
