Magic fan here. When we traded Dwight and started a rebuild it was the same time the Celtics started rebuilding. They started winning again with IT and those boys meanwhile we had Andrew Nicholson… so I get it However I learned from this current magic rebuild that it takes the coaches instilling in the players that this is a long term vision and each game is about us getting better for the long term goal and the wins and losses don’t matter right now. That’s a tough culture to build. You guys might have to clean house down to about 3 players and start over

The Chicago trade was a HUGE win for Orlando. They landed Franz with the pick and WCJ at the same time. But Orlando has drafted to perfection in culture and players that fit with eachother.. And then there is PAOLO... This team is gonna be dangerous for years to come because they're gonna stick together

Wendell Carter is underrated and also adds to the versatility they have.. Franz Paolo Carter that’s a tough line up to match up with especially how they can all run pick and rolls.. and then you have Suggs and Harris who solidify that defensive tenacity on the perimeter it’s cool to see that succeed in this modern day offensive league

My man. Thank you for this video. Grew up going to Magic games in the nosebleeds…hoping this is the young core that will get us to glory. Interesting note most people don’t talk about…Coke(not a typo) Anthony is definitely an important piece of the current roster, however we had a chance to grab Maxey that year. Imagine that… Even more so Maxey fits Weltman’s type so much more than Cole (size + defensive versatility) I was sure we were adding Maxey that night. Very happy with how things have turned out. But whenever I watch Maxey cook I can’t help but wonder. Soldier on sir I’ll be watching.🫡

Envy is a sentiment far removed from the current discourse. Both the Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons boast highly promising young squads, each harboring a bright future. The distinction lies in the Magic's ability to harness their roster effectively, while the Pistons currently navigate a challenging phase, striving to carve out a distinct identity. This endeavor involves key players such as Cade, Ivey, Duren, Ausar, Sasser, Beef Stew, among others. As a lifelong supporter of the Detroit Pistons, any notion of jealousy towards other NBA teams, including the Orlando Magic, is unfounded. Despite the immediate challenges faced by the Pistons organization, it is imperative to recognize the franchise's enduring legacy within the league. This legacy spans from the era of "The Bad Boys Pistons" to the "Going to Work Pistons," showcasing decades of notable achievements. The intent behind critiquing the Magic does not stem from a place of ill will but rather from a recognition of their commendable performance. I aspire to witness success for several teams-including the Thunders, Rockets, Spurs, and the Pistons-irrespective of the latter's current organizational hurdles. It is crucial to underline, however, that despite the potential success of the current Pistons squad in the 2023-2024 season, a perceptible bias against the team persists within the league.

Speaking as an Orlando fan, Detroit fans shouldn't be too down on their team as part of the difference is purely luck. The Vucevic trade ended up being gold but the Gordon trade wasn't great. That's a normal outcome. What isn't normal is to have the equal best odds to get Wemby and up with the 5th pick only 1 spot if Orlando. Don't get me wrong, front office competency is also part of this. Why go for the most expensive coach of all time when youve just had the best lottery odds? Orlando went the rookie coach route which so far has been not only better but has enabled a new culture and identity to form. Regardless, the current Detroit roster is better then their current record. Cade, Ivey, Duren and Thompson are legitimate pieces to build from.

An interesting potential topic could be how american NBA fans/media are feeling about the amount of non-americans winning MVPs. As a European I feel very proud, but with the last 5 winners being european/African, and wemby, luka and shai yet to win one and looking more likely than anyone else to get their first over Giannis and Joker, how would US based fans feel about a decade of this? Would it be similar to Canadians feeling uneasy about American expansion in hockey? I have no idea! I adore your content, Much love from England! X
