MOTM has to be between him, Ederson and Dias. Dias was an absolute unit in defence and Ederson was immense. But I think Stones does just clinch it. Such a great midfield performance from someone who has played his career as a CB and only recently was playing RCB/RB. His dribbling and pushing up as a n°8 was class

I agree but let's just include everyone because I don't think anybody played bad at all, but rather Inter played really good and the City players was nervous. All in all it was a great game with so many emotions

@@N0Xa880iUL they have always had completely different player profiles, Maguire is solid for England in a possession-based defensive setup. He’s struggled in United, like many of their players, because their tactics don’t suit him. It’s United’s fault really for not taking advantage of their players’ qualities or training them to be more versatile, and for exposing their players to ridicule and bullying rather than just letting them leave with their dignity intact.

Or vice versa. Excited to see Mings back in the England setup too, he’s been immense under Emery this season. Not to mention, of course, that we’ve got Bellingham as well, plus Trent, who’s also at his best in the inverted midfielder position and is a brilliant playmaker. Lots of options in the midfield now, great to see.

That’s fine, he’s still primarily a defender. But the man also dominated that midfield and had the most completed dribbles in a champions league final (6/6, 100%) since Messi in 2015. That’s no small achievement. He was everywhere. His unpredictability is his strength, he has that advantage that Haaland doesn’t. Haaland has been struggling for a while because teams have figured out how to contain him. I’m much more interested in seeing how Haaland will be able to perform in the future.

He’s better than any top 5 midfield. I think this is why Pep brought more cb. Stones is definitely better than Calvin phillips. The prospect of seeing stones playing with kovacic 😅😅 they will dribble pas any midfield
