I'm a believer in everything happens for a reason. Obviously it sucks that this happened, but it made you realize that you're not ready to die. To imagine something like this could happen is one thing, but for it to actually come true is another. You needed time until you were ready to unpack all your feelings about that day.

I spun my car on the highway once when it was raining, my tires were bald and there were deep grooves in the road full of water and I hydroplaned. I spun through the center median and my car was sitting next to the other 2 lanes pointing in the right direction so I got lucky that I was able to drive away with no damage just grass and dirt stuck in my wheels.
