I'm finally getting home decorating and remodeling projects done!
As a New England home and lifestyle blogger and avid homemaker, many of my home and DIY home projects start at 5:00 am in the morning, give or take a half an hour. For those who have asked, This is how I get so many home decorating and home remodeling projects done around our home. For this week's video, I will be sharing a few early morning decorating projects I completed such as painting the stairs and the stairwell to the basement, which is part of my basement takeover project. Then you will see some moulding I put on both as a baseboard and trim around two doorways. I also painted the breakfast room as I search for just the right wallpaper. It's almost spring in New England and I want to get as many DIY home improvement projects done around the house that I can.
I love when I'm getting things done around the home, then l get to go outside and do a couple projects in the yard and gardens then play with Willow.
I hope you are inspired to take on some of your own early morning DIY projects. It really does allow for more time during the day to enjoy other things.
For those who have asked, I have linked information about my Limoges Theodore Haviland China set. The teacup and saucer are shown in this video.
I will also be linking the wood garden cart I have used for years.

Appreciate your peaceful presentations.
You are one energetic and busy lady! When I watch you it inspires me to get up and get something done! So Thank You for that!!!
The yellow flower looks like a winter flowering jasmine to me.
I love the squirrel's apple, made me smile!
I do the same...up at dawn and doing projects or cleaning....one can get so much done, it’s quiet and everyone else is still in bed! Always so many projects to complete! Thanks for another enjoyable video.
Your home and property are lovely. Thank you for sharing. 🥰
I love the squirrel story! My snow patches have been gone for about two weeks, thankfully. I live for the end of Winter and the world reawakening. Now I am blessed with early buds and birdsong. Your garden tour gives me some incentive to get to work! My Lola, like your Willow loves to play ball! Our Doodles all seem to sleep the same way too!

I have met a few Doodles and it is strange how similar they are, especially in their loving nature. They are so smart right?
Linda I admire your determination. Great job getting the projects done! Hold off with trimming roses. The rule of thumb( Paul Parent’s rule) is trim roses not until the forsythias bloom.

What a great tip! Thank you.
Linda so nice to watch your videos. You are so talented in all you do. I really enjoy watching you are so relaxed, and make me feel the same. Well done!
Just love watching you first thing in the morning!😘
Hi Linda love to watch your videos. Your DIY helps me to do my project around the house thank you for sharing God bless you and family and also love the classical music in the background.🙏🏻💐👍🏻
Well done again ☘️
Hi, Linda. "I like what you do here and I love the music you choose." Have a great weekend. Susie
Loved to watch the video on the yard. I'm 73 and started to clean a section of my yard. I am in the city but my backyard looks like I am in the country. I notice you do small amounts of yard work at a time I need to schedule my yard in. Sections and pace myself
What an inspiring delightful video! It's definitely a good idea to be an early riser! 🙏🌹💙💃💃💙🌹🙏
You are truly gifted in all your diy projects. It’s going to be beautiful when you’re done. That little Willow is so sweet! Just adorable all snuggle up on the couch. 🐶💕
Your videos make me feel so calm.
Thanks for the inspiration to get busy on lots of things I have avoided doing, Tell us more about getting up so early. That might help to conquer the covers on these mornings when it is still nippy.
Great projects! I wish I had your energy and ability. Love to see the yard coming to life and little Willow playing and snoozing.
Willow is too sweet!
Very enjoyable 🙂 The apple in the tree reminded me years ago when my neighbour had stale donuts that they put out for the squirrels and birds. I went out to walk through our backyard, when l seen donuts hanging in the tree's, l thought I was seeing thing's!!☺️ My neighbor saw me from their window, looking up into the tree's, likely with a look of puzzlement on my face and called out that they had put out the donuts the night before. I guess the squirrels had put them in the tree's for the nexted day snack🐿️😊🍁
As you've been told now. It's arched so looks like Winter Flowering Jasmine. It has no scent unlike the white. Forsythia is upright. Seemingly you can just stick it in the ground and it takes. My very dear elderly neighbour in England had it. When I moved to Spain she still planted flowers in my garden. She watered our both gardens with my hose. She even hung flower baskets up for me so my house looked lived in. There is a white Forsythia I hear. She also grew Sweet Peas, my favourite and gave me bunches of them when we holidayed there in the summer. You sent me off on some very sweet memories. Thanks Linda.
Sweet, funny Willow napping with her duck!! 😂 I’m often wide awake at that hour getting things done as well. Your ability to tackle specific projects is inspiring.
Love, love seeing your projects! I'm a morning person too. I live in the south. We have forsythia, quince, and periwinkle blooming...woo-hoo!
Your nailpolish tips makes perfect sense.
Love the green you chose for the stairs.
You’ve done a great job on all of the projects. I’m so impressed!!
Enjoyed seeing the projects!
You are such an inspiration to me and I truly love your home! You also have a soft spot in my heart because my daughter has ADD and a reading disability and she is quite successful in her career and also makes a lot of things with wood and diy's her home as well. :-)
Thank you for sharing your early morning projects!!
Love the nail polish idea....you think of everything. I need to get to bed earlier, know that when I do get up early, I get more done. Thanks fo r all of your inspiration.
Yes, it looks like Forsythia I have this in my small backyard too.. this is the first thing to bloom🌼 Thanks for all the inspirational ideas💝
Lovely small potting house. Really cute.....e
You have a very calm, kind voice. I love your videos and your beautiful, elegant home.
♥️ Willow!
Fun video Linda, thanks!
You have been very busy and everything is looking beautiful. It is so satisfying when we get little jobs completed that we have put for a while. We are seeing lots of signs of spring here in my part of Tennessee. So ready to get outside and dig in the dirt and do some landscaping. Have a wonderful week .
I have the exact same garden cart now for 20 yrs. holds up well!
I just got to see your new video Linda! Love spending time with you!
Wish I had your energy! Love Willow as I have a doodle also!
Love the nail polish tip. Will give that a try.
This morning I'm sharing my 5:00 am projects. I would like to add that I woke and edited this video at 5:00 am as well! Now I have the rest of my day to play and enjoy doing a few more DIY projects around the home.
What is that saying. Early bird catches the worm. I like starting the day early if possible.
Hi Linda! I love following you around!! I am so amazed at how talented and knowledgeable you are!! You actually have inspired me to tackle some jobs I would ordinarily wait for hubs to do!! So I thank you!! have a wonderful day and I will see you in the next one!! PS: Watching you actually make me miss my home state of beautiful New Jersey! Hugs! :)
Like the nail polish trick--makes sense. funny how weather just keeps one guessing!
Enjoyed the video.
The weather here in PA is finally starting to warm up! I'm so anxious to get outside and work in the yard!
I just Love 💜 That Wallpaper you have in the Butler's pantry🪻
I enjoy your channel so much. There is something very appealing about those beautiful New England homes. Hailing from Niagara Falls and now a Houstonian, I long to visit Mass., Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont again. Fond memories.
Today’s video was inspirational, thanks. I also like to have lots of home projects to get done and get great pleasure from taking care of our home.
Thanks for my morning inspiration, now can you share some of your energy so I can get off my couch, I am so enjoying the sun and the cup of coffee in my hand.
Morning Linda, What time do you go to bed to get up at 5:00 am. I wish I could get up that time. I’m the person going to bed 1:00 or 2:00 am, because I have been working on projects. The house is quiet can get things done. Thank you for the video.
That's a wonderful plan, Linda... Pick a time, have a goal or goals in mind, and get going. I love it.🌻💛🌞
Linda, I definitely want to see the faux paint project. My husband put wood filler in the gaps of our floors 12 years ago! Still we have not dealt with finishing it! I’m so embarrassed!
You make painting look so easy... Do you have a video on how to properly paint
Great trip around your garden . So many people only show their gardens in full bloom . Lovely as that is , its nice to see some ' before ' pictures ! The little yellow flower is Winter Jasmine [ Jasminium Nudiflorum ] The flowers do look very similar but Jasminium has has very green , whip like arching stems . Forsythia , on the other hand , tends to have browner stems with a more upright habit .

Glad you told Linda this was Winter Jasmine...you beat me to it.
willow is sooo cute! loved the vid! you are amazing to me! I am not a diyer! I love to patter around, and I have done some things, but you make it look so easy! thanks for giving us the encouragement to try and tackle some of our own projects! xoxo
I love the green stair treads......and can’t wait to see what you decide to do with the basement
Love it!
Funny squirrel! One year we lost half a Bradford Pear tree in a storm and decided to cut it the rest of the way down. There was a squirrel's nest in it. I had a flag holder next to our front porch that held small flags. The squirrel shredded our flags! I put up knew ones immediately and it did the same thing again. We waited a few months after that until the squirrel had calmed down and found a new home. They are characters for sure. Looking at the back of your home, what room do the winding stairs come from? Love your home.

The winding stairs used to go to the apartment that was once in our home and we decided to keep them. We thought we would keep them for a second floor exit if needed.

Animals are very smart. Thay was the squirrel's retribution for making him or her homeless. He\she was very spiteful!😉😇
loved it!!!!!!
nice video, the yellow flower seems to be jasminum nudiflorum
I love this video - so encouraging. I'm wondering if you have any tips to share when doing painting projects. I feel it always takes me longer than it should. Maybe I'm not working efficiently. I would love see a video on this. I so enjoy your channel. Thank you!
Thank you for teaching us so many things. You now have a reputation at my home with my husband....when I say maybe you could fix this or that....he says you should be like that lady you watch on KZread 😂😂😂😂😂. I wish the weather would stay warm, I’m also in Massachusetts and it’s a beautiful day today for yard cleanup. There is a building next to your home that I never noticed, is that a cottage?

Ha! Tell your husband hi for me or maybe sorry LOL. We have homes on either side of us, you might have seen one of their barns.
Good job! I have many of these tasks myself but am not doing them.
Is it possible for you to do a tutorial on measuring and cutting trim?
Thank you for my morning inspiration I enjoy your channel So much there is something very Special about New England Houses The wood work is beautiful thank you for sharingYour project's love it
Thanks for sharing that Apple story. Willow is so adorable!! She looked so comfy. Have a great safe weekend Lina. 😊
You did a real nice job on the trim. Very impressed!
Another inspirational video; thank you!
Linda I really enjoy watching your videos and also just love your dog Willow!
The warmer weather has definitely inspired me to get out and start cleaning up the yard. This New England weather is crazy! Have you ever done a gardening journal? I wanted to do one this year but didn’t know where to start.
LOVE it..... i got to change my ways - 5AM for me is spent with my cappuccino & my journal... not super productive... i really want to see how you matched the wood. our 150 year old beach cottage has tons of divots & it needs filling... would love to do a diy that looks decent ....
If I were not my advanced age, I would love to do videos of all the interesting parts of my life .,Everyone should do it. I never see your video camera?

I love the way the dried grasses look. I actually buy the stuff to hang outside my window in a feeder in lieu of suet in the spring for birds here in the city. I haven’t put it out yet. Glad you reminded me! 🐦
You are definitely a master of all things❤️ you inspire me to get moving and start some projects of my own.
I love watching your videos, very inspiring 😊
The garden carts are also available at Gardner's Supply website. They are beautifully made and last a very long time.
Hi Linda, your lovely yellow flowered plant is Winter-blooming jasmine or Jasminum nudiflorum. Thank you for sharing.
Linda I love the space and privacy you have around your property! How to you wake up so early? Do you go to bed very early at night! 🌿🌞☕️

I love the wallpaper you have chosen and are considering. It might be time to do a little project!
Good job! Linda.
Love it Linda! Thanks for sharing your secret.💐
OMG.......5AM is actually 4AM until your biorhythms adjust. You are a better woman than I.😉
Willow is such a ham! :O)
😂 I do the same thing when I do my nails 💅🏼 and also have a lot of energy I drive my husband crazy 😜 everything is turning out nice 👏
I’m impressed with how you cut your own trim...what kind of power saw do you use? How did you attach the doorway moulding? (We have BM iron gate in a bathroom...great color). Thanks, Linda!
The yellow flower is Winter Jasmine.....I believe
Hi Linda, what zone are you? I just love Spring 🌱🌿💚

Me too! Zone 5 - Massachusetts
I watched you caulk previously, now I have seen you are quite capable of doing woodwork as well!! I knew of the dipping the finger in the water technique for smoothing caulk. Also about cutting the tip according to the amount and angle of caulk to be utilized. I have an issue with hand strength using the caulking trigger. Also being steady do the caulk flows consistently is important. I will keep trying but I may have to resort to asking fo assistance-difficult for this TOOL Gal 😯🙁
🥰🥰🥰
You are cute! Blessings!
We live in Lancaster NY... we’ve always trimmed our tall grass in the late Autumn. I’m wondering why you wait until Spring?

I enjoy them visually through the winter and it gives a bit of shelter for the birds and small animals in the winter too.
I love your style. it matches mine too. I love the toil wallpaper with the greyish look. where did you get that?
What is your basket by your front door called? I am looking for one and that style never shows up in my search. Thanks, love your videos!
Lovely. Your sea grass would make great witches brooms.
I can relate to the time ... l keep getting up at 4 am ... 🥺

Is the basement to your house original to the house ? When l looked at several older homes in the 1980s the basements were dirt crawl spaces .
@newenglandfineliving
3 жыл бұрын
many old homes have full basements. Some had concrete added later. My childhood home was 1760 with some late 1600's original spaces and it had a full basement height as well.
