How do you save 20% on something that is free?? hahaha
Thank you for sharing the story of your grandfather and his beloved car. I love Soviet cars, my friend had a Lada in Canada, and my Grandfather had 3 Belarus farm tractors, and a Romanian Universal tractor. I also have a friend who immigrated to Canada from the USSR back in 1992 or so. Lovely, everyday people. Thank you Andre, for being so likeable

Growing up in Poland in 70s and 80s these were all over the place. I think it’s amazing what finds it’s way across the pond. Good luck selling it.
My great granduncle used to drive this model in black color in 1960s. There were around 3 such model driven by nobilities in Addis Ababa. He used to drive from Wolayta in South Ethiopia to Addis 380km at night. It was powerful and comfortable even on gravel roads.
Great video! 👍 we drove one back in 80 with white steering wheel. This car was made to last for 100 years. Simple design, easy fix. There used to be a Russian man from Brooklyn with black Volga21 in perfect condition.
There is Volga in Queens NY. Volga body mounted on BMW chassis. Dark blue, very nice looking car.
TFL should restore this for a video series, see if you can get some sponsors to help and then drive it to all the states.
There's a guy in Atlanta that has one with a 3.0 liter Toyota 4Runner drive train. So surprise they're hard to find parts for in the States. I've always loved Soviet Cars. They're interesting.
Bring back the TFL classics podcast, we need breakfast and hardbodys

You are spot on.
Many years ago I had a Lada 1500 (Riva) that I loved,the car was tough as nails. Even though they were pretty commonplace back in the 1980’s to early 1990’s here in Canada. We had all kinds of Eastern Block stuff back then from Skodas to Dacias, but now they are impossible to find. Thanks for sharing your Volga and the UAZ 452 (buhanka) with us…
Vlad from garage 54 could hook that Volga up.
What a cool ride. I can see it lowered a little with some nice wheels an wider tires. I’d leave everything else the same. Love the sun burnt paint; just put clear coat on it. It would fit right into my car club; we are appropriately named “Push Rods”.
Sorry to see this go. TFL should have made this into a restoration series. Something pretty uniqe and interesting instead of the regular content.

……which almost NObody would watch. It’s a neat car because it was his grandfather’s. But otherwise I wouldn’t waste the 1/2 gallon of gasoline it would take to set it on fire.
I’m thinking Andre found out what it would cost to restore the car and was like it’s time to sell
Why is it not for sale on TFL Bids?

I saw a lot of those, and other Soviet cars, in Cuba. You would find them there.
That is a weird three on the tree pattern compared to the old fords I am used to
Why are you not selling it on TFL's car auction site? TFL Bids.

This is poor form in behalf of @TFLclassics with all the time and effort Andre puts in they should do a budget series on restoring the bodywork and interior on the GAZ-21! Sorry to hear you have to let your classic car dream go Andre! Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Andre, I hope you get a good price for the Volga and it finds a good owner.

@@andresmirnov3940 It'll probably take someone like yourself with a personal tie to such a car to purchase it. I think its a sweet car. For $9500, its competitive with a lot of other classics, and maybe a pretty good deal for something that unique here in the states. Might be hated on because of the CCCP association...but I doubt it. Most car guys wont care where it was made. I love Ural motorcycles, despite their ties to the current Russian regime.

Why would you keep the original engine but sell the car? Most people would do the opposite thing...
@markcoopers1930
10 ай бұрын
The engine is more valuable standalone for those handful of collectors who want 100% OEM, and very much less valuable if someone wants to drive the car with confidence. It's also not a particularly unique or capable engine so it's not like the "soul" of the car is lost by swapping
@andresmirnov3940

If nobody wants the original engine, I was thinking about turning it into a coffee table.
It’s like a reverse Cuban car, eastern bloc car with American engine instead of the other way around.
Believe me back then it was not pumpy ride back there. They were alphas taking their time smoking and chilling. Not beta toxic men, they did not need 1000 hp to prove themselfs.
Better panel gaps than a Tesla.🤪

This car with no rust is a holy grail of today's restomod trend. Swap the engine by 1-UZ, GAZ 3110 front suspension Volvo rear axle with traction bar and put modern HVAC
Why not try Doug DeMuro’s Cars and Bids? It is a unique car.
