Cow milk allergy also. Was told NOT to even try goats milk. However, I am a rebel. I found out I am allergic to chemicals. So tiny, I have nowhere to safely store them because the body can't extract them. Chemicals are in everything. So, my journey landed me at my farm/ homestead. First thing I did was get goats. Guess what I can drink? Goats milk. Also, I think some people go to the store to buy processed goats milk, and it is NOT the same as raw goats milk. I know someone who worked at a milk plant, said they don't do anything to the milk to change it. So, I asked him to explain the procedure. He spent five minutes telling me how he separated the milk into 3 parts, water, fat, sugars, how they boiled it...( that changes nothing, right?) Threw out the whey, added more water, sugar, and vitamins, like vitamin D... then, added what's left together, and packaged it. So, basically, you have a man made white liquid vitamin drink that all the good stuff it cooked out of. Also saw a documentary that said it's even worse for one's health than raw. I'm thinking some people react bad to store-bought goats milk because of the process. So that number could be even lower than that if they had been in an area to have the luxury of raw milk to try. I'm living the life on my organic farm now. Drinking goats milk and we will can it and see how that goes next year. Glad you have a good outcome.

I used raw goat milk to supplement breastfeeding my twins. Started them on goat milk when they were about 2 months old. They thrived, and the goat milk was very easy on their tummies. Better than infant formula which seemed to always cause problems. Goat milk is wonderful! Congratulations on being reunited with your beloved dairy! Definitely worth celebrating! 🎉❤

My husband LOVES milk. He noticed he was sick every time he ate meat. It took 3 doctors and asking for a year before he learned he has Alpha Gal, a lone star tick disease that makes you allergic to all mammal meat. Learning that helped but it wasn’t until he gave up the dairy he started to feel better. Even the allergist mocked his request for the test because we’re in Pa and the tick doesn’t live here and in his WV/PA practice he’d only seen it once and the person traveled south. Anyway, you haven’t mentioned meat making you ill but just in case you can have alpha gal without anaphylaxis…even if your dr says no. And the ticks have made it to Pa because we didn’t go south.

You're going to need more goats to get enough gremlin juice for cheese and butter and ice cream though! More wonderful little creatures to embrace and tell them how much you love them. I think that task should be repeated at least twice a year. Can't have them forgetting that you love them! 🤣

Hi Family 👋 I fight a very rare, genetic condition called Mastocytosis. Basically, my body produces too many mast cells and they are in places they shouldn't be, like inside my GI tract. This condition causes recurring, severe allergic reactions 24/7, all day, every day, pretty much. So, my "safe foods list" gets smaller and shorter weekly. I just reacted to blueberries, my last safe fruit. I can still have chicken and beef. And, a few vegetables. I was diagnosed with Celiac way back before anyone knew the word 'gluten.' So wheat, rye, oats and barely were removed from my diet 25+ years ago. But since then, I have lost many other favorites. I'm still thankful I can eat real food. Some live on feeding tubes and then even react to the GI food mixture or the tuning. Its tough when your body is so sensitive. No coffee. No tea. No juice. And, now dairy is starting to cause symptoms. I'm in denial. It's the one thing I still have. Yogurt. Pudding. Milk. Butter. I'm going to check out your doctor's information. Maybe she has heard of Mastocytosis and maybe she has even been able to help a few patients who suffer from it. We'll see. I only tried goat's milk once about 25 years ago. My throat started itching, swelled and U started coughing. So that's not an option. Plus, I'm allergic to oats, almonds, some rice, coconut cream and that leaves pea protein. I bought a bottle of Ripple this week. I plan on testing it on a good day when my symptoms are low to see if I can tolerate it. I don't have high hopes though because non-organic peas caused reactions. It's so hard when they are adding GMO foods and other toxins to our food supply already. I'm looking forward to the day I get my miracle from God and I can eat foods freely again! 🙏❤️🥰 Blessings from Texas, Candace

We have sables (colored saanen). I love how quiet and gentle tempered they are. Even our bucks are like big gentle dogs. I also like getting almost a gallon per doe from once per day milking. I was frustrated with ND because of the small amount per milking and those tiny teats. They are cute and easier on the fencing though.

I love my Saanens, always wanted to find some Sables (the white color is the only thing I don't like about the breed). I love their temperament, very calm, sweet and quiet. And that was the only breed of buck I ever kept long term and would consider keeping one again. I have had a couple other breeds, but I would get frustrated with the small amount of milk after having Saanens....it didn't seem worth their much more obnoxious nature, LOL The only other breed I liked was the Kinder, at least the line I had was quiet and good natured. Never kept a buck though, didn't need to at the time, so I have no experience with the males of that breed.

The goat I recommend the most is the oberhasli goat. They are gentle, rarely scream unless there is a problem, and easier to milk. I started with nubians. They escape fences, are loud, obnoxious when they want something, and hard to manage. Oberhasli are not like that at all. They have long teets so they are much easier to milk then the nigerian, too, with the milk machine. Watching you milk by hand with the goats struggling reminded me a time I never want to go back to. I bought a milk machine on amazon for 100 dollars. The goats love it. They never fought with me again about the milk. I don't know what it is about the machine compared to my hands, but they are unruly with my hands. It sucks trying to figure out how to run electric to your milk stand, but it is well worth it for the goat's sake and your sake. 😂

I know you’re not a fan of how loud they are so you might want to add a Guernsey to your herd. They are medium sized and produce more milk than a Nigerian, a great homestead breed. Also, for off flavors look into the free choice mineral buffet system. Game changer. I run a holistic goat care group… “The Crunchy Goat” feel free to reach out with any questions!

I have Saanen and Saanen crosses. Did you know Boar goats have upvyI 38% cream? I have some crosses. Out of 2 gallons of milk, I get one quart of heavy cream. It's very silky and wonderful in coffee, butter, ice cream, and cheese. The cream is white, and the butter is white. In a blind taste test, none of my family or friends can tell the difference between cow or goat butter. When I make my cheese, I use a bit of cultured buttermilk I make with .... goat milk. The yogurt I prefer is Bulgarian yogurt easily made in an Instant pot with goat milk. I do strain it. You may be looking into a cream separator. Best of luck!

I had to give up anything with wheat because several years ago I developed a true allergy to it. I break out in hives. It’s not fun. I’m hoping the idea of allergies getting out of your system every seven years is true so I can go back to not having to worry about foods with wheat in it.

I tried both, can't drink either and I love dairy particularly cheese of any kind. I tried everything lactose free but it doesn't help. I found I can tolerate Ghee but not all ghee, it could be the quality. I found it is the casein.

my family's experience with goats was such that my son, who misses being able to drink as much milk as he wants, has been researching milk sheep. But if you reacted worse to butter than to whole milk, do try skim milk.

This is a good time to bring up ghee. Ghee is unsalted butter with the milk fat cooked out of it. You end up with a high smoke point butter flavored oil that does not contain lactose or casein. If you can handle ghee, then you will still have genuine butter flavor in your life. Overall, goat milk is healthier than cow.
