I think companies leave the keyboard legs off because they break easily. Probably the same reason this company didn't put a hinge on the dongle cover.

I found a really nice wireless 65% keyboard that didn't completely suck for once but it was a pain to use because it was almost flat and didn't have feet. I had to get some off amazon to make it usable. I've no idea why not have feet has become to popular now.

Just a note for anyone who is UK/EU based. The EPOMAKER driver does not currently work with the ISO version, EPOMAKER are saying they are working on it but just be aware for anyone who is thinking about buying a 75X
actually i appreciate that the plastic cover for the dongle isn’t on a hinge. a hinge will break so easily and then it’s loose for ever
I really like the touch with the huge gray square and the super aesthetic "Digital Display Game&Office Mechanical Keyboard" text. Great design choice!

I had to pause your video just to leave a comment, about how much I appreciate your love of gimmicks and gimmicky mechanical keyboards, because I am also a huge sucker for a good screen and a great light show. And I really do enjoy it when I'm working on my books and stories. EpoMaker has connectivity issues sometimes, but the south-facing LEDs are so bright, I was on the fence for a while, but these really are worth the money. Teach me how to get sponsored lol.
Man this keyboard looks perfect for me, either with the screen or the phone holder. Now i just hope they release it with ISO-ES layout for us internationals.
the most useless feature is the LCD, you can't even use it for anything other than showing those leds
When do we see a buildoff with Plouffe and like Hipyo?

Honestly a lot cheaper than I expected. I figured it'd be $200+. If they had a bare version that I could load my own switches into I'd be sold.
Love epomaker. Been using a TH96 PRO for about 2 yrs. Great for the money.
honestly the way it sounds and quality wise, with the screen, that is seriously not a bad price.... im a wooting guy,so if i can combine the two id pay for that
I actually dislike that cable. the type-c end is okay, but maybe a bit bulky, but there are very few motherboard/laptop configurations where that bulky ass type-a is going to fit without blocking SOMETHING. Thankfully that's not an attached cable, so you can swap to one that's practical.
If it were orange and had a handle on the side, it would look like the "computer" I had when I was 5. Like 1986.

I would say the Keychron V1 Max vs This DynaTab 75 is roughly 50/50 depending on what you value, i think the DynaTab sounds better then most Keychron boards out of the box, but with modding Keychron boards can sound amazing, also the Keychron uses VIA and not epomakers software so thats a plus and while im personally not a fan of cheap aluminum cases that could also be seen as a upside... Overall I would say the V1 Max is pretty decent board so I wouldn't feel buyer's remorse if I were in your shoes.

@@Zoshiao What a pleasant surprise, thanks for the input. I have modified my keyboard to perfection with 10 red switches and the rest browns, I also bought a double shot PBT OSA kit full of key caps, which was the longest part to install. My priority for lighting on keyboards is FIRMWARE CONFIGURATION, none of those Windows programs taking up my CPU.
They didn't put a hinge on the dongle cover for customisability. Now without the hinge you can just remove it and put your own cover on.
This just makes me realise how lucky I was to have picked up a G15 all those years ago. I always wanted a G19 but by the time I had the spare change Logitech had moved to just having a holder for my phone which I never used because I didn't want to run down the phone's battery.
When did Dom DeLuise start reviewing keyboards??? :) Awesome vid as always!!!
This is so close to the same layout as the woothing 80HE! F row is a bit different, and the arrow keys are arrow positioning is a bit lower and to the right, and wooting uses 3x 1.25u between space and arrows vs 4x 1u for this one.
Looks cool, like the retro look, but I will only buy a full keyboard
Wonder if you guys will cover the *Flux Keyboard,* assuming it actually releases. As far as I know it hasn't come out yet. It's expensive as hell, but the idea of a keyboard that is a screen and almost fully transparent (like 98% clear or something) is neat. Supposedly low latency (1-2 ms) too, with analog hall effect. TBH, even if it was entirely legit, I don't think I could justify getting it. Between the price and the distraction of the screen, which honestly probably wouldn't work that well since the effect is intended for a straight on top-down view. I'd still like to see it get covered though.

Epomaker is such an unusual OEM in the keyboard space. Really they just rebrand Chinese keyboards that don't have enough demand to come to the states on their own. Or that was my experience with the "Epomaker Ajazz AK820 Pro" I bought on Amazon. All the branding on the box, the keyboard itself, etc, was just from Ajazz. Having said that, they pick really quality stuff to bring over this way and I am happy to have the shorter ship times and easier customer service options that Amazon offers. I just worry that the OEMs are in a race to the bottom right now and that will eventually get too good to be true.
This seems like it could have been a good entry level solution for me if it had come out a couple of months earlier and I didn't buy a 30 usd mechanical keyboard from hyperX. I am very happy with it but I kind of did want detachable wired/wireless options. hot swapability and size are good extras
I literally was thinking yesterday “I need a new Plouff (sp?) keyboard video”, my prayers have been answered.
The idea of a keyboard enthusiast will never not make me laugh
I can't imagine ever buying these keyboards. I've never understood who and why would want them. There are so many prettier keyboards that you can get for much cheaper and that don't look like a super wide tractor.
If there could be a way for the screen to be used for actual writing, and the device saving text as an odt file or similar, I'd buy that in a heartbeat. I've been looking for years for a device similar to the electronic typewriters from my childhood.
You say to each their own when it comes to keyboards with or without Numpad. But you almost never showcase keyboards with one. The last one was I think the remake of the Model F 10 Months ago. I wish you would showcase a few full-sized Keyboards without gimmicks.

Yeah, that's exactly what I need while I'm typing/working - a massive, attention grabbing screen. And if you can avoid looking at that screen then what exactly is the point of it? Sorry Plouffe - hard pass on the screen version.
Why are so many mechanical keyboards without numpads these days? Have people forgotten how to use their right hand when typing? Does nobody use home or end anymore? Even on my keyboard which does have a numpad, the end key only works when numlock is off. I use both the numpad, and the additional keys on that side all the time, especially the enter key. I want more full sized mechanical keyboards.

I mean the numpad doesn't add any value if you are not constantly typing numbers all day, and really gets in the way of the mouse if you center the kb on you
@Jj82op
5 күн бұрын
You have two End keys, on the number 1 on the numpad and on the cluster above the arrow keys, you can always use this one. When you are typing both hands are on the home row, so moving your hands out of the way to press other keys can be inefficient. These are more popular just for people who don't need the numpad very much, gaming or some people like to save desk space, for example. There are plenty of full sized keyboards, Keychron is a popular brand. I think we should see more numpads on the left side, makes sense to me to use the mouse with your right hand and numpad with the left. Or having a separate numpad solves that too.
Depth!
Was the pattern on the keyboard looking like the desk mat intentional?
Why you would want a screen, but not a dang knob for basic frickin media control, is beyond me. After I had the first gen corsair k70 rgb with the volume wheel on it, ALMOST TEN YEARS AGO, I've hated every keyboard I've used without one. In my opinion, there is no excuse to be holding the FN key for every day functions in the year of our lord 2024 my brother in christ
