I don't like SUVs at all, but that doesn't mean that I don't support BMW. I love my M340i. However, I recently received an X2 (hated it) and told the service advisor that I didn't like it when he asked. I also told him to tell Munich to never stop making sedans.

Hate the Beaver Teeth with a passion.. Make it look so cheap and tacky. BUTT ass ugliest grill I have ever seen.. Will NEVER buy an M3 or 4. But that's ok, I love my Beemers and I'll stick with my M5..... Please just don't go and ruin the 5's or 8s too please BMW.... Remember Pontiac? Most models were pretty sharp, and then they had the bright idea to be bold and release the Aztec... How did that work out? Although the Aztec had better reception/acceptance than these Beaver teeth though.... Oh well, just don't ruin the 5's & 8's.. Have a few years left on my F90 and plan to get an M8 next.

Saw one in person and it caught my eye. It looked so different from all angles from any other car on the road. Amazing my dream BMW now! Coming from a guy who didn't really like the pictures when it leaked. Now I am in love.

The grille looks fantastic on the sedan but seems more awkward on the coupe. Either way if you see it in person with all the curves and etc it makes sense and it looks fantastic.

They’re actually nice In person, but someone’s gonna make a killing on a facelift kit for this car

Nah audi and mercedes already have big grills that fit their cars nicely. Bmws signature grills stood them out. now they look like the rest, honestly looks like a KIA or lexus

It a beautiful car, the problem is that at a $80,000 price tag it takes away from what alot of us out here love about our BMW N54 platform and the content of what you built your channel on. That is building a car for under 20 grand and sometimes under 10 grand (That is including the price of the car) that will beat up on a $80,000. Yes those videos are nice and the car is wicked. Just Give me my N54, 4g63, or a B16 and after all the wrench time I don't need a $80,000 because I can whip up on one 😉

That's true a lot of people don't recognize this the way BMW tend to jump into the deep end with bold designs when they're ready and how the e60 and 6er was a part of this not to mention the Bangle butt 7er

I don‘t think we should love or even like it. If anyone really likes it sure thing. But the criticism from everybody who dislikes it is justified and necessary. I am fully with you, when you say that it‘s good that they tried to innovate. I don‘t think going completely tunnel vision on this one was good tho. You can innovate, but you should do it with style. I‘m not saying you gotta do it like audi and add one vent to the same design every model generation. But this route BMW has taken here is just... no. Nope. Nada. Nein. I hope they take their design and make it more compliant. Right now it sticks out like a sore thumb. Just look at this elegant, yet aggressive line from the back and from the side, and then look at this fat lil piggy from the front. 😂

Audi started the bass-mouth grill a few years ago and Lexus followed with Cylon Warrior grill; neither has aged well. The Bangle Butt and flame headlights are still pretty visually offensive. What happened to understated elegance?

I personally like the new grills not the base model grills but the M grills are pretty nice. Everyone complains that BMW looks the same every year but when they try something different everyone wants to bitch I don’t get it.

I think the grille makes the M3 look futuristic and aggressive in a good way; I could get used to it but Im concerned the non M cars will look terribly disgusting without the aggressive bumper.

As a 2021 M3 owner, I can attest to what this man is saying. People will take pictures, record you driving, and stop to give you compliments. Also all the pictures you see do not do it justice. You have to see it in person to truly appreciate it. Other than not waiting for the AWD, I have no regrets.

I agree with you. This was brave from them. Saw it in person a few days ago and it looks amazing. So much presence. I love the design

@@ro952 well, I spoke to the consultant at the local BMW dealership. Their order book is full already. Though I get the looks are subjective (I reserved comments until I saw it in person and it looks fantastic) but all the reviews are saying its an incredible driver's car. I think based on that alone it will sell in huge numbers.

@@sds2954 . it's definitely subjective and that's ok. Can't please everyone I get that. I think there are enough fanboys that would sop these up without question no matter what they did to them... That's fine though. I love my Beemers and hope BMW does good as a whole i just hate the new M3 &4 grilles with a passion and think it looks liek butt cheeks in person. Such a beautiful car otherwise.. But that my opinion. My 1st BMW was an '11 M5.. The sleek slender F10 grille looked so classy and elegant. That's what really drew me in... Then I get my '18 M5.. The grilles are evolved but the change from the F10 to the F90 is subtle.. This change to the Butt Cheek/Beaver Teeth grilles is anything but subtle. The over exaggerated styling looks cheap and tacky to me. Like BMW is copying the Honda Civic or Nissan Maxima with the over exaggerated styling and looks like a cheap plastic toy.. Just don't ruin the 5 & 8 please..

I hate the front end design, but I would buy it because I love the performance and the way the rest of the car looks. I think a slightly refined aftermarket bumper kit would look nice. I don't think it needs to look like an M8 or even have the grille changed, but I think some of the lines in the front bumper could be changed a bit.

Listen man you can rationalize it however much you want but fact is that very knowledgeable designers have already analyzed this design and called it obviously incomplete and wrongly put together. Another 'easter egg' of this bad design would be the way the arch from the back integrates with the rear quarter panel

The Mitsubishi evo front end was also called incomplete but it looks good. The flare out at the back is very cool and looks very aggressive. Not every design has to flow perfectly. Its subjective but i guarantee that BMW will sell a ton of these.

This explained lots of other things as well. the U.S has been right for too long, now they lost their dignity to admit they can be wrong sometime. I think it a nice design and I am not one that has always liked all their past designs that BMW has come out with. At first, I was a little turn off by the massive grill but I will agree with you it does grow on you after a while. I think most of the issue is change most purists want to keep the classic look but if you look back the early grill (1976 BMW 2002)was bigger than the newer models they just bringing them back in a massive way

I saw one today in black, and it has presence! I really like it!

One problem i have with it are the different wheel diameters in the front and back. But i understand if it has to do with better engineering the car or something for daily driving.

I think it's the kind of things that make BMW so successful. To do something the other manufacturers never did. I remember when the first generation X6M came out in 2008. It's completely new thing and a lot of people were hating it like crazy. (some still hates it today) But they end up selling over 20000 X6M in the first two generations. They actually outsell X5M. (the more reasonable choice according to X6M haters) And all luxury car company started to copy high performance SUV coupe because people love it and pay for it. I personally don't like the G80 grill. But it's a cool design and it's the way to go. I've heard so many normal people (not enthusiasts) criticized that F80/82 doesn't look special so they skipped it to other cars. Currently in my country the G80/82 orders are crazy. Now the dealers charge 20% extra just to order the car and people still pay for it. I pre-ordered a G80 6 months ago at the dealer but now I gave up (wait too long and too expensive) and changed it to X4M competition.

I think the car overall is solid, still not used to the grill but who’s to say it won’t grow on me. Right now it looks to me like the design team was trying way to hard to make a statement. If they went as aggressive in the back (as the front) they would essentially have to put a wing on it that’s higher than the roofline

I've always liked the new grilles and for the exact reason you are mentioning, we cant move forward without taking some risks and making bold moves, would you rather be associated with a boring brand or one that upsets the internet...I'd go for the latter. I can guarantee within a year people will love it especially when more mods become available... and not the one to change the grille and make it smaller.

This is by far much better looking car in person than in pictures especially over the M4. But I completely disagree about changing what's too normal in your opinion. They have an icon of their brand which is the kidney grills which they are slowly dissolving away. They had the Ring Halo lights which they've dissolved to be linear lines like most other manufactures from Asia. BMW catering the the "BOLD' Chinese market is NOT a good thing. What if Porsche radically change their iconic designs just to be bold for NA, following the market of China. Big thumbs down.

I want to see this M3 in a different color I’ve only seen them in this green and still not a fan maybe if I see it in person I might like the front because the side and rear profiles are really nice

It's not the size or shape. It is the proportion, and as someone noted below, Somebody is going to make a fortune making a facelift kit for this model.

I saw the thumbnail and I was like: “Different grill for BMW but man I love it.”

"taking it a little out of the box" That's horseshit. They are following all the other manufacturers and making their grills huge. Start with Audi, Lexus you name it. They are all going that way, Bimmer is just following suit. They didn't want to be left behind.
