I also want to share my story

I was once an alcoholic, i had reached a stage where my breakfast was a glass of alcohol.( Kutoa lock) i lost my job due to much drinking.i sold all my house items and i couldn't pay rent anymore , went back to the village and started drinking cheap alcohol ( busaa) ,my health started deterioration. One day i sat down and i decided enough is enough.i quit alcohol completely.

Pole sana. I hope he gets help while he's still young. My brother is 61 and has been an alcoholic for over 40 years. We've tried everything. We just thank God that he has a stable wife who has supported him and their children. If not for her, he would be dead

i have been in the same situation as you just came across this and it really awakened my senses but am unable to quit I have lost everything relapsed every now. I really need help for sure. I have the will to change but nobody to talk to I have been a lone ranger I want to fight this battle and become sober again.

Been both through gambling and alcohol addiction. Harrison,Recovery is a journey...one day at a time. With a positive mind and with God on your side utamake🙏

Thank you for sharing your story Harrison. Thanks again Justus for your KZread channel that really educates us. What Harrison is saying is that the government needs to have a multi-disciplinary approach to dealing with alcoholism. It is a complex illness and creating policies without understanding the cycle of addiction does not help.

Such an inspiring platform being young and watching this is really teaching me alot

Such an encouraging story! Happy that you overcame. Can we also talk about the common thread in a lot of these stories - exposure to drugs during adolescence particularly in high schools. That is the genesis of all these problems. Exposure to narcotics at that stage, when the brain is still not completely developed messes up with brain chemistry and reward pathways . There is a good reason why alcohol comes with a warning that it should not be consumed by people younger than 18. Perhaps we may even need to repeal our laws upward to 21. Then, crackdown on under age drinking with all the seriousness it deserves.

Thanks so much for sharing your story. I've been drinking a lot to cope with insomnia. Sometimes I drink a pint of vodka so I can fall asleep. If I'm too tired during the day, I'll drink so I can fall asleep. I'm worried that I'll become an addict. Sleeping pills aren't helping, the doctors have given me every kind of pill but they don't work

yes one can bet responsibly and for a long time as long as one does not proceed to stage 3 and remains in stage 2 social stage. do we have the control really. when one tries to control something it means it is already controlling you.
