Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:
1. A while ago I bought this stunning red-orange-ish Japanse wool. (Malvinas from Noro). I started knitting a scarf in a half fishermans rib but this wool is nog just straight on, it is more like a thin-thicker situation. Very naturally, accept my knitting seems way more sloppy than it is! So I am looking for a sweater pattern that is more suited. Or maby some random tips.. eum maby combine it with a differtent type of yarn? I would love a pattern that makes this yarn rock! Do you have a suited pattern for this kind of wool or do you know how to get one?
2. I've just finished knitting the Feel good shawl, a total extravaganza of brioche in DK... I was wondering whe you are designing shawls do you make a decision about how big a certain section is before you start knitting it or decide as you go? You seem to strike the perfect balance of size for each section and avoid the boredom factor of doing the same thing for a million rows.

3. Hi! I’m new to listening and loving the talk about pattern modification and construction. I recently knit my first raglan pullover for a baby who hasn’t arrived yet (so I’m not 100% about the fit), then I modified the same pattern to create a button up cardigan for my 16 month old. I love it overall, but the sleeves are really full. This was mentioned in other knitters’ project comments on this pattern, so I added a lot of decreases in the arms, but the upper arms in particular are still really big on my daughter. I’m wondering about ways I can reduce the bulk, perhaps decreasing the ratio of arm stitches to front/back stitches when setting up the raglan. I’m thinking I would initially cast on more stitches to so that the neck isn't too small. Do you have input? Is this a relatively simple fix, or would something like a round yoke construction allow for more flexibility than raglan? Thank you!
4.Hi Andrea! Thank you so much for the wealth of information that you share here! I absolutely love knitting your patterns! I have been playing with the idea of designing my first sweater and I would love to incorporate short rows in the back of the neck. My question is how to do the math to figure out how far and how much and how often to go back and forth. Does that make sense? Thank you for considering.

5. Hi Andrea, I love your LYS cardigan and after it has sat on my queue for a while I have decided that I want to knit one sooner rather than later and have recently purchased yarn for it. My question is that when you wore yours last week (ep. 127) the neckline looked different and more open compared to the pattern photos where it is worn open and the neckline is fold up like a shirt collar. Is this simply due to styling or have you changed your cardigan since you first knit it to sit more like this. I love the more open neckline look as I don't plan to wear mine closed (I probably wont even put in the buttons/buttonholes)

Noro yarn is so interesting on its own so rib or stockinette work best. I just frogged 2 shawls I made with Noro because I didn’t like stitch I used. One shawl I made over 5 years ago. After soaking and drying the yarn looks like new with a great spring in its step.

Noro Malvinas is a Worsted Single-Ply 100% Wool yarn. Its interesting just by itself. It might be really cool in a WW sweater of yours. Like the Andrea even.

Hey Andrea, I've learned so much from this series and wanted to say THANK YOU🥰 I’m a knitter with a lowercase k and a spinner with a capital S. I wanted to know the name of the farm you get your Cormo from in Michigan because I’m across the border in Indiania and love local sources of wool.

can you have mid sleeve decreases for the upper arm and make it a design choice and stop when you get to the armhole split? this is a suggestion for the prson who was making the kid sweater.
