He played that character so fantastically.

I always loved the dialogue on Justified; "Shall I respond point by point...?" This uniqueness all derives from the writers constantly asking "What would Elmore Leonard do?" Certainly one of my top ten series of all time.

I was just writing how Justified completely throws out the Chekhov's Gun principle, where if there's a gun in the first scene you have to shoot it by the third. Justified ignores the low-hanging fruit that's there just to draw your attention, and it does it so masterfully

Scenes like this are what made the show a hit.

It's amazing that he works that hard in law enforcement, yet still has the time and energy to be the number one roving salesman for Dunder Mifflin Scranton.

My word, this show is something else. The dialogue, characters, and writing in this series is second to none, truly top tier - endless rewatch value solely for all of the epic lines of Raylan Givens! (and that's not even including all of the fantastic dialogue from all of the other characters)

@@swampy6194 Banshee is phenomenal. Deadwood, Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, the first two seasons of Peaky Blinders, Boardwalk Empire, and NYPD Blue are all good ones. People say to check out Longmire if you like Justified. But honestly, once you've seen a "neo-western" series like Justified, it will just pale in comparison.

I always say that the reason I like Raylan so much is that he's always assessing the situation and he lets people know that he has a grasp on the immediate situation to disarm them mentally or cause them to enter a situation in which he knows he will beat them physically. He's a great gunfighter, but he wins most of his battles before the shooting even starts.

Timothy olyphant(raylan) and walton goggins(boyd crowder) made this my favorite series ever. This has to be the best told tale of cops and cons from both sides of the story. RIP Elmore Leonard. The reason why the show was cut short.

They could have kept going even after Elmore Leonards death, they changed a lot from his books. He actually got to the point to where he was writing his Raylan books to go along with the show. Just like Boyd was supposed to die in the first season like he died in the first Raylan short story.

The show DID continue after he passed. The entire crew of the show wanted to wrap it up and it end it well versus letting it wander on for to long and become just another show languishing past it’s prime. I think it was the right call and wish more series cared more about the story instead of trying to squeak out money and viewers for too long.

Enjoyed Justified as much as any show TV has offered. Pure joy.

Loved that series, sad when it was over. Modern day version of a good ole Western

Of all the clips floating around, this one really lures you into the series. Fantastic from start to finish

Best line ever in a situation like this was spoken by the great John Wayne in Big Jake. "Anything happens, my fault, your fault, nobody's fault, you're going to die. No matter what else happens, you're going to die."

The crazy thing being, Raylan was more like Arlo (in the sense of kill or be killed) then he would have ever admitted. You don't grow up around that, and in it, like he said, without it ending up some part of who you are.

I watched the first season last year and came to it about a week ago to start the second. It’s a massive jump in quality, it’s almost a totally different show. Olyphant should have won some awards for this.

There is typically some sort of order in organized crime (literally effect of the cause that is organization). Chaos is bad for business. Ultimately, more criminal just want money, just like anyone else. They are just willing to brake the rules that were voted on to do it.

Laws are just rules imposed by the strongest. These people are only criminals because the state is the strongest. Absent the state, their laws are just as valid as any found in a law book. This is how the real world works.

I always love the ones that say things like "You killed my friend!" like that's some sort of justification. They've killed dozens and dozens of people. They don't get to whine about something like that.

Every so often a show comes along that demonstrates what the medium is capable of and it blows almost every other show, and most movies, completely away. And when you look to see why, it's obvious. Every step in the chain is just stunningly executed. Writing, casting, direction, lighting, camera work, performances all combine and make a whole that's even better than its excellent parts. This show was absolutely superb and scenes like this one show why.

Going back to your original comment though, I'd back that up by adding that Justified is what can happen when a legendary writers work can be done (ahem) justice. Other contemporary Americana it stands in comparison to is Cormac McCarthy, in my opinion.

A touch of old Clint Eastwood westerns thrown into this series onto Raylan Givens made it simply magnificent

One of the best series ever. Had to have the box set to watch over again.

Damn, I guess I"M gonna have to watch it for the third time.

This Hot Rod actor is also another great character actor.

Love Justified, i've probably watched the entire run 5 or 6 times. Never gets old.

This was one of if not the best show on TV. He brought the character to life. Every single episode was fantastic.

Classic - “You die first, get it.” Puts things into perspective right quick…

One of my fav actors period. This role was meant for Timothy to play, extremely convincing!

Great performance and how well he displayed the character really showed grit with his acting. A remarkable talent

Damn I loved that series. Timothy Olyphant was made for this role and Raylan was the baddest of the badasses.

Raylen is the most under rated character in TV history

I always carry a gold palm sized shield and have successfully ended all disputes with "now, you see this star, that's going to make it legal" ... works like a charm.

Gosh I miss this show. Used to look forward to the broadcasts every week. It would be last week's episode right before the premier episode and then an encore. I used to watch a full 3 or 4 hours of the show on the nights it aired.

“Do we have a understanding!” LOL... This is my introduction to this show... how can they possibly follow up on such a great first impression... LOL

It was a great series and my wife gave me the complete CD set for Christmas

This is my favorite scene in the whole series. Backs down a squad of hard men simply by telling them the truth about their chances, like "you'll kill me, probably, but at least a few of you will be dead or permanently scarred. Is it worth it?"

My favorite TV show; watched it 6 times. The dialogue is sometimes a stretch for rural Kentucky but that is overcome by a great story and great characters. This is a great scene, my favorite, in a show full of great scenes.

Damn, we need a continuation of this show with Raylan in Miami! One of the best shows ever!

@@USMCPFC1 And that’s why I said what I said. I can’t imagine the two actively coming to blows or bullets. Just seems like the two would respect each other’s reputations and thus try to avoid getting in each other’s ways when possible. Because as terrifying As John Wick is, he doesn’t strike me as an especially cruel person(probably his wife’s influence) and Raylan is, from what little I’ve seen, the embodiment of that old trope of “the anger of a kind man”. So I imagine that the two would just leave the other be and have enough respect to not get in each other’s ways. Just a tip of the hat and how do you do.

One of my favorite lines.

The most bad ass line I’ve ever heard on any show ever. The absolute best. Best show ever made.

Such a GREAT show. With a few exceptions, the heavies in Justified came off as reasonably smart, at least in their area of expertise, rather than the dumb blocks you often get in TV & film. I think it was Bo, Mags, Boyd and the rest of Raylan's antagonists that really took the show to the next level.

Damm, now I'm going to have to RE-RE-Watch the show....

One thing I really like about this show was the authentic 'feel' of it. My family's from Kentucky and Tenn, close to the area this is set in. Even the accents are fairly right on. Most actors overdo the southern accent, a lot of times it seems to always be an Alabama accent for some reason. But each region has its own variation, even states vary from one side to the other.

I'm in the same boat. My family is from Kentucky, I was born in TN and grew up on a farm in south-west Virginia. The accents were really spot on and I loved that aspect of the show. My dad, uncles, and aunts all sound like they could fit in to this show naturally.

Ppl from outside of the southern states tend to think theres one accent in the whole region, when in fact theres more like 8 or 9. Some states have different accents depending on what part of the state youre in.

This show did a real good job of channeling the writing style of the creator, Elmore Leonard. If you have never read any of his books, you should.

Why are minions always so weak? I want a show where the protagonist says this and immediately gets shot before he's done with his speech. "Great work, Otis. That's an extra bag of devil's lettuce for you."

I got into watching this show after it was finished. I binge watched on the weekends. Love the show and Raylan and Boyd made the show.

In season 1, Raylan told Boyd he wasn't around when Arlo pulled that scam. So he was lying to Boyd back then to avoid talking about his dad.

So good. I've watched it front to back twice. I'm fixin' to watch it a third time. So good.

To be clear, this is from the TV series ’Justified’ (2010-2015) - looks excellent, not sure how I missed it.

Timothy! Come back! All is forgiven! Give us more Justified!

This is the greatest series ever! The pilot may very well be the absolute best 50+ minutes of television ever filmed.

And that my friends, is how you deliver a threat.

This part was so cool, it motivated me during my officer days. I remember being in a confrontation with a person and I used that line. How was I to know my Grandmother was faster on the draw than I was! She'd been watching Gun Smoke!

I just love how the crime boss asks if he should answer point by point or wait to the end.

Mickey Jones is a badass. I don't remember ever seeing him cast as the bad guy.

I haven't purchased a DVD in 15 plus years, but I just bought the complete series of Justified. It's getting hard to find it without having to pay for it.

Man, I really loved watching this series, Timothy was so awesome in his role!
