About my knife:
For wood carving, I used my regular whittling knife which I made myself; the blade length is 40 mm, and the overall length of the knife is 130 mm.
For beginners:
Using a short piece of branch can be dangerous for beginners. So, I recommend trying to use a long and comfortable piece, and trim it at the end.

Master, please teach…How the knife can cut wood this easy? I bought a Morakniv knife, but I only can shave surface of woods. Is wood should do something before carving?

Try to find a dry wood or dry it(one-two weeks or more). Use basswood or maple and, of course, sharpen your knife before carving. It is all what I do.

Sorry, I made a mistake. Don't use maple. When I want to use softwood, I typically choose aspen wood or basswood (linden tree).

Watercolor paints.
Did you use green wood or was it a dead branch? Also, did you just use paint for the eyes? Great carving, so cute.

For woodcarving, I dried this branch for 1 or 2 weeks. I painted his eyes a black paint and a drop of white paint. I used watercolours.
