Maul’s character is given a lot more depth in the clone wars and rebels than in The Phantom Menace.

So glad that Maul got the character development he deserved!

Disagree heavily on that personally. They did not do Maul dirty in the Phantom Menace. He only has like three lines but he was an absolute monster. First character ever shown to use a double bladed lightsaber. Had one of if not THE best duel in the entire franchise. Killed one of the most important characters in the movie before Kenobi got a lucky hit in. Not trying to insult your opinion of course (it's as valid as mine) just wanted to share my own

Fr people forget that he is the son of Mother Talzin, she was one of the most power force sensitive beings in the galaxy only comparable to Palpatine himself. It took the entire separatist fleet, General grievous and dooku to kill her, and she also was in a weakened state.

Even if we disregard their duel in TPM and Maul's death in rebels (where he was already past his prime), look at their fight on Florrum, Kenobi actually held his own 1v2 versus Maul AND Savage. As I said before, Maul doesnt win alone at this point in the timeline especially with the help of Anakin Dont get me started on Maul being "almost as strong as Palpatine", Sidious clearly toyed with both him and Savage during their fight on Mandalore. There was a reason Sidious wanted ANAKIN and not Maul to be his true apprentice.

Maul : Ur lack of Basic understanding is disturbing

We need a series about Maul at this point. Cause how is it possible to create such a badass, interesting and marketable persona while giving him less screen time than a slave owner.

Maul was such a tragic character, and I’m so glad they had him in Clone Wars and went more in depth in him

where did you get this? Not saying it's not true but there's so many plans and theories that never panned out. If you go back to the very beginning, Palpatine was going to be the villain of the sequels. Maul didn't even exist yet, and the Emperor wasn't supposed to show up until episode 9. Then there's the Darth Jar Jar theory, I don't know if it has any merit but George Lucas definitely changed the role he would play in the prequels. Like it or not, the future and plans of Star Wars changes constantly, and that did not start with Disney. There's a group of fans that has never trusted the process, that's the part that doesn't work.

That alone should have been trustworthy. If there even is a small doubt that someone is being seduced to the darkside, then you have to take measures into preventing it from completion. It’s ironic, really. In the first movie, Maul nearly ran over Anakin on a speeder bike. Here, he’s *terrified* of what Anakin is about to become; and Maul is already a dark sider himself, so that says a lot about how much hatred and anger Darth Vader has…

Darth Maul was a different breed of sith. He didnt hide behind deceptions and coddled words. He was direct. Honest. And held his own integrity and honour to a higher standard than that of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who sought power and control over all beings. Sidious wasnt just a Sith. But his force signature is often described as a great storm unrelenting and chaotic in nature with little peace and balance to it. Maul, Pong Krell and Fives where the only people to discover/see what was coming and only 1 of them survived to see it. Krell had a vision that the Jedi would lose and the republic would be torn apart from the inside (sidious being the senate and the clones turning), Fives discovered the inhibitor chips for order 66 but the kaminoins falsified reports to cover it up and Palps made fives look crazy before having Fox kill him, and Maul had a similar vision to Krell except knowing that sidious was behind it somehow and that Anakin would be the instrument used to destroy the Jedi. If you combine all 3 of them they have the full picture but individually they’re all missing a piece that the others are aware of

Honestly if the prequel trilogy came first I’m fairly certain that maul would’ve succeeded here, at least in convincing Ashoka that Anakin is in danger and sidious needs to be stopped. How the following confrontations against anakin, sidious and convincing the Jedi masters go is another question but he absolutely would’ve convinced her, or at least gotten away, if he wasnt doomed to fail by the narrative

I love how the clone wars goes into mauls story in the clone wars it makes his character so much better

Later on in Star Wars rebels Ashoka: Don’t say it Maul: I told you so

Rebels Ahsoka looks ugly compared to Clones Ashoka bro. Idk why they didn't just keep the original model, she looks badass.

​@@davidmays8974They had to do rebels on a lower budget than TCW Reason they didn't base off adult ashoka to the original TCW model is to make Rebels have a unique animation style than TCW. (Great example of this is Star Wars Resistance it was in 3D(but more comic like) and had its unique look just like what TCW and Rebels have) Essentially just saying again (Different Animation Style).

​@davidmays8974 I like how Rebels Ahsoka looks but it took me a minute. I've watched that series so many times that now I love the animation completely. The color pallete for the entire show is gorgeous in my opinion.

What I always liked about this scene is that these two were basically “the” clone wars characters and we get to finish with them. Even with Rex later in the arc. Before CW, there was no Ahsoka, there was no Rex and Maul had a limited appearance. This series gave all of these characters life and growth which is just so awesome to see. And the fact that this is the end, and they’re the three standing at the end of the episodes is really cool.

"I know Anakin" "Anakin is gone... I am what remains..."

Maul and dooku had that shit figured out 😅

What if qui gon won in the duel of fates? What if padme doesn't die? What if Anakin was never discovered on tattooine? What if Anakin killed palpatine with mace windu? What if the death star plans were never received? What if Reys parents never died? What if order 66 never happened?

@@rasulrahimov744 what if padme had survived child birth? What if Anakin would have went forward with his attack on palpatine when he first discovered he was the Sith Lord? What if Count Dooku would have sided with Master Yaddle? What if Count Dooku had bested Anakin in their final duel? What if Ahsoka teamed up with Maul after he offered his alliance? What if order 66 programing had either failed entirely or was glitchy and only worked on some of the clones? AND LASTLY (for now) WHAT IF ANAKIN WON The Duel on Mustafar?!

Man, if Kenobi and Anakin had come, Maul would have told them everything. That would have changed the tide of events greatly. Edit: You know what, that needs to become a what-if video for star wars.

Ahsoka: "I know Anakin!" ME: "You don't know him enough then. Maul knows more sadly."

This show has given us some of the best Star Wars moments. The voice acting in this makes me get teary from the inside fr. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

I love how they turned Maul into a character that we thought was just a brute into one of the most articulate ans intelligent characters in the shower

Maul should have been the final sith lord in the star wars sequels before disney stepped in

Ahsoka let her emotions cloud her judgment there. Maul spoke the pure truth, but Ahsoka just could not bring herself to believe that Anakin would turn to the dark side.

Seriously. Ahsoka fought alongside Anakin for 2 years. She knew that he wasn't stable, she knew that he couldn't hold himself in difficult situations and... She denies Maul saying that he will eventually join the dark side?

The Datk Side was so powerful at this point that if Maul even caught a glimpse of Kenobi his rage may have actually been enough to put up a fight against him and Anakin. THAT DUEL WOULD HAVE BEEN LEGENDARY

It's a truly Grim day when even Maul is trying to bring logic, an explanation, with supporting evidence even! to a dark situation. The man tried to unintentionally save the Republic!

The fact that Maul was so confident in his ability he could've taken Anakin AND Obi Wan really shows you how powerful he was.

@lilg I mean Obi Wan had Ventris 1 time and another jedi the second time, so it was still even.

Its crazy how maul was blind to it at first but saw the whole plot after losing to obiwan the first time. I loved watching mauls progression

I mean, he knows Palpatine more than anyone else, of course he'd figure it out. That's not just some magic foresight, he watches what the Republic and Palpatine do, and draws obvious conclusions for someone who was Palpatine's apprentice himself.
