I Killed Every NPC in Oblivion

Ойындар

Oblivion has been a long requested game to join the "I Killed Every NPC" series, and boy am I glad that I finally gave it a shot. Oblivion was a fantastic adventure. I see why this game is still talked about and loved by fans, even nearly 20 years after its release!

lets not forget that before oblivion came out, during development the AI had to be dumbed down becuase they were to smart, the drug adicts would kill shop keeps if they didnt have enough gold on them to buy drugs (this was not scripted and a unforeseeable consequence) and would generally kill a shop keep before you get to them, resulting in a dead merchant on your first arival

Want you to murder Morrowind next. No essential NPCS (the expansion Tribunal tries to prevent you from killing NPCs by making them super overpowered but that just turns them into optional superbosses instead), a main quest that can be accomplished even if you murder plot-essential characters, every fucking bandit has a unique name so you have to track down and kill them too. And the best part is that there's a "taunt" feature that allows you to kill almost every character in the game legally.

I agree that oblivion does have some repetitive quests, but not on the same scale as skyrim ("oh, the 5000th quest where you need to kill draugrs and retrieve an item!"). I think that all in all, oblivions quests, especially the side quests, are way more diverse and entertaining

One of my favorite moments to see from people who played Skyrim first is when they escort Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple, and they hail him as Dragonborn. Most people go, "Martin is a Dragonborn?" This is since Tiber Septim, founder of the Third Empire, was a Dragonborn, and all his descendents carry some of his Dragonborn blood.

I think what I enjoy most about Oblivion is the story lines of the side quests and dlcs. in shivering isles its never stated that jyggalag is actually a bad guy but instead a force that has to do it because it is his nature, when you talk to sheogorath hes not his usual insanity when talking about the greymarch, hes talking about pure absolute suffering which no one truly takes pleasure from which neither self are truly wanting it, but instead a cruel curse set upon the other daedric gods. So when you finally beat jyggalag the real sheogorath you're freeing a false self and the true self from this endless cycle, and give the false self a true form, yourself. Jyggalag says hes finally free to go about by himself with not turning back into a inverse of himself so he disappears from giant head projection and is presumably wandering Oblivion in all its form. really hoping with ES6 we get possibly a jyggalag focused quest, where he tasks you with creating a new plane of order possibly establishing it as a way to maintain the balance needed for the realms so that there is not another merunes dagon event. but instead of him turning into a deranged tyrant he uses his experience as sheogorath to level himself into becoming one of the better daedric princes, possibly setting up an empire to rival the high elves and imperials.

Given that the Elder Scrolls lore hints that reality is (among other things) kept in place by seven pillars and most of them have been destroyed, and the Thalmor want to essentially force the world to the primordial state it was before reality forces the Mer/Elves into a very long but still mundane mortality, and a way they are accomplishing this is the destruction of said pillars A Jyggalag quest where you try and keep reality stable as it's nearing its unraveling while the last pillar is dissolving would be, forgive the joke, INSANE, if well executed

I remember bringing my PC to my friends house and we and another friend played Morrowind next to eachother. Needed at least 3 trips to the car each time - one for carrying the PC, one for the CRT monitor (25 kg/55 pounds), one for mouse/keyboard/speakers/network cables and probably another one for snacks, toothbrush etc. We also played some local multiplayer games. Getting local multiplayer set up usually took at least an hour, and a handful of luck. Getting the PCs to find eachother was quite a hassle, even when they were directly plugged into eachother (wireless didnt exist) there was always a ton of IP-settings you had to tweak. There are plenty of Main game quests that are fun like one where you literally get sent out to the middle of the ocean while you sleep and one where you have to solve a murder mystery. It may not be your style; but a playthrough of this game on your channel would be fun and I would watch it. I hope you come back to Oblivion, my second favorite Bethesda game, sometime soon.

I actually like the way the durability was handled here (i hate just losing the weapon when it breaks breath of the wild and totk) you can actually repair it stupid easily as long as you are out of combat and at max skill you only need one hammer on you. also if you are playing normally yes the class does matter as only the major skills will contribute to your character level , and yes Martin is voiced by sean bean Oblivion has quite an interesting voice cast. One last thing if you talked to the argonian chick you wouldve gotten feather scrolls for the quest

Doing this in Morrowing is not only possible, but the game will tell you with a popup "Bro, your progression is broken now. Load a save or have a broken save". But it lets you kill everyone, no matter how important they are to the story.

Man, that opening felt like a love letter to this game, so having that followed up by "so I never played this game" and some negative remarks about how it looks and plays makes me hurt that being said "fuck yeah I want an extra 20 points of speed" is mad relatable If you want another challenge run, you could do a run where you clear out every Oblivion gate in the game. [if you do that though, you may wanna crank the difficulty down to like 20 or 30 percent. It's not a skill thing it just changes enemy health and makes progression generally faster so the game feels more fluid that way] On my current run I'm playing a hand-to-hand build with the steel gauntlets since they look like metal boxing gloves and I've just been fisting my way through the forces of hell as I close shut the jaws of Oblivion one gate at a time. I'm up to like 32 or 34 gates closed by now and I've been having a fucking blast.

OH ALSO if you do the _all oblivion gates_ run, remember there's a max of 60 gates per playthrough, but technically there's a total of 100 possible gates since there's 90 possible randomized locations for gates to spawn honestly it's a little disheartening to me that I can't clear all 100 gates on a single vanilla playthrough cause after a lil while you get into a groove for how to hunt down the gates like there's a pattern to it I won't tell you what that pattern is right now though, it's my hope that you'll pick up on it just by observing your surroundings as you clear each one. That is of course, assuming that you try this challenge at all. If you do, I wish you the best of luck on your journey to *CLOSE SHUT THE JAWS OF OBLIVION.*

You were soo close, but there's at least 2 NPC's that I know of that you soft locked out of the game during prep. In the DB, there's a quest that when started spawns an argonian in the marshes outside of Lewiin, but you kill the male argonian in the DB before you got that quest to spawn the other argonian in the woods. And in the arena, if you talk to the gray prince before challenging him, you'll be directed to a vampires lair. I did leave details out cause they're both easy to miss but both are highly rewarding. And nonetheless, a valiant effort! ***Edit*** Scratch that. There's at least four you missed, as there are also a few quest in Bruma that won't spawn until after the quest had been started. There's one that spawns a unique bruma guard. One that spawns a dunmer and another unique bruma guard along with a Brenton woman. There's also a quest also in bruma where you encounter multiple ghosts of ackivire soldiers (ik I butchered the spelling, idc) but they're hostile and im not sure if you'd count those.

Great video. Seen you doing Skyrim and Dragonborn, but didn't expect you doing Oblivion next. Some surprises do be pleasant. But, did you kill Lord Lovidicus? He's Agronak's father you meet in some ruin west of Anvil by Agronak's quest. And you can't access him except with the key you get from Agronak, if I remember correct. He doesn't spawn there prior to his quest too. But it didn't seem like you did Agronak's quest since he attacked you in his arena fight, and I don't remember you mentioning his quest in the video either. 🤔 Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

theres an in universe reason why prisoners in elder scrolls end up fulfilling prophecies: the prisoner. you play as someone who, somehow, achieved chim in universe and thus escaped "the prison" that is video game reality. this is a thing for some reason
