I Kept Ants For 70 Days, This Happened!

Ғылым және технология

I kept a queen ant for 70 days until she had roughly 100 workers. Watch as she lays eggs, raises her young and increases the size of the ant colony. We feed the colony chicken, honey, fruit flies and spider legs. If you like this content let me know and I'll be sure to make more videos just like this!
The winner of last weeks competition is @thesmalllives, I will get in contact with you shortly, thank you to everyone who participated I loved reading each and everyone's answer!
Thanks for watching guys, Eli from Ant Invasion is out!

Hey man! No worries at all, I love to hear new people getting into ant keeping so good on you! There’s a few videos out there on KZread including some that I’ve made which teach you how to raise your queen ants. First things first, you’ll want to identify your queen ant, most of the time they’re claustral queens. Meaning that she has enough fat and protein stored inside her to raise her first generation of workers, this first generation will be the ones that go out and find food to further fuel and grow the colony. This means you won’t have to feed her until she gets her first workers… woohoo! If she’s semi claustral like bull ants for example, you’ll need to offer her food before and while she has any brood. My go-to food of choice is usually little insects, especially pet store crickets they go down a treat. Otherwise yes go ahead and experiment with protein rich food that you eat yourself, like chicken, mince, nuts and seeds. Ant diets vary lots between different species so don’t be discouraged if they don’t even touch anything random you give them hahaha. Ant keeping is a lot to do with trial and error. I hope this was helpful, thanks for asking dude!

Ahhh that’s a shame man sorry to hear that. Don’t feel alone though, this happens all the time in ant keeping, very unfortunate man! I usually pull the crickets apart before feeding my ants, especially smaller species, since they’ll get hurt if not
