good on you man. I live in Delhi and I've been to these trash dumps once to just explore with some friends. It's genuinely a huge problem here. I would borrow my dads car to drive everywhere, but since the pollution risks and AQI have gone to shit, I've completely shifted to walking around on foot and using public transport. We don't realize it, but the amount of hang time between traffic lights and travel time anywhere in the NCR region, your car ends up burning a lot of fuel. It's so much worse this year, especially now in the winter season as the smog is thick throughout the day at times. It's scary that you step out of your house and you immediately smell smoke and burnt ash smell in the air. And I'm living a decent life tbh, have a roof over my head, a job and some expendable income at times, so I can't relate or offer an accurate image of how people in slums survive. What I can tell you is that it's not easy for the well off people in terms of air pollution either. Some days when I have to go out for some work, it's alarming that once I return home I end up coughing up a storm. Masks don't help much tbh, and all you can do is work as much as you can from home. Sadly not everyone has that luxury and I commend you on filming this documentary vid, because I learned some things even though I live here.

@@jao_tusi3381 it's the population in the cities bro. In the New Delhi region alone the population is nearly 32 mil.. that's a fuck ton of people within the length of 51km! It's all down to people moving out of small towns and villages to move into the mega cities through hopes and promises of success. Cities flood with people, cheap labor, unplanned housing, constant construction for accommodating the moving people... in turn they consume more products, which turns into pollution on land, then traveling in a big city is always a problem with constant traffic, Some areas in the city are kept clean and very tidy mostly the central government regions, but it's the poor communities that get shafted unfortunately.

No the person who he got was in touch with the officer , so they both could make some extra cash from tourist! ❤
They could easily fix a lot of the smell problem by covering the pile of trash with dirt. Specifically, plastic and dirt. (This is what is done in landfills in the USA.) Dirt is available, but there are costs with trucking it. Some ventilation is still needed, this can be solved with feeding the landfill gasses into gas generators or burning it. Most of the smell can be burned up. Additionally, sewers can be covered, sanitation improved with simple technology used around the world, but it is what it is.

It also happen pretty regularly here in brazil
The black water is not just unique to that one part of India, any city you go to you will find that black water since many Indian cities have exposed sewer systems that are barely covered

Thank you for making this video, Tyler. I used to live in Indrapuram (which is a short distance from this landfill), during 2015-16. And I have to say that living there can become difficult sometimes. People of this country are delusional, they believe in these so called political parties hoping that they will bring a change but honestly I don't see even a semblance of dedication from any of the so-called political factions(be it AAP, BJP, CONG,CPI ; it doesn't matter who it is) towards the country. Problem is Indians don't think for themselves, we always have a pre-condition in our mind that we are good at everything, everyone is so rigid and stiff. We don't take criticism well and learn something from it. I can already imagine idiots claiming that this is all western propaganda and non of this is real(despite the fact that Tyler has made videos on problems in US as well). Honestly this is sickening, how can the politicians live with themselves after leaving people to die like this. I was once an overly proud nationalist who switched between BJP and CONG from time to time, like an idiot but before long I had decided to follow my parents' footsteps, and abstain from voting for any of these so called "REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PEOPLE". How are these videos getting demonetized!? They are very educational and show the sides of things media refuses to show. This is true journalism with comedy behind it.

Tyler talk about Waste Colonialism, the thing developed countries in Europe and North America, and Japan and SoKor do to developing countries where they ship their containers of trash to poorer countries. In 2014, 69 shipping containers of medical waste from Canada got shipped to the Philippines (my country) to be dumped here. Eventually returned in 2019. The big pile of "recycled" clothes in the Atacama desert in Chile, and the e-waste dump in Ghana. A lot of developing country trash isn't even theirs.

By far the funniest part of this video is when Tyler starts celebrating the cow being pulled out and those guys just staring at him like he's a weirdo because to them it's an everyday type of task lmao.
Really makes you appreciate what you have. Just by being born in the right zip code affects your entire life. These people are incredibly strong and I hope none of this is still a thing in 100 years
