I Invented A New Sub-Genre Of Drill!

Alrighty! I think drill is one of the most popular music genres out right now, so it's about time for it to start changing. I wanted to try my hand in making a new subgenre of drill and this is what I came up with! On top of that, I brought a couple of my favorite artists to go over these beats and drop an EP with them!

Lool some of these “sub genres” already exist. The drill hat/countersnare pattern when slowed down could easily translate to Afrobeats. You can easily see this in the beat with the guitar melody. I always appreciate it when I see producers pushing themselves. The sound was as described and one of the hardest things to do is to not get distracted by the "vibe" and make something different from your initial goal. The songs came out great and I appreciate watching the process. All of the singers added something of their personality to the songs. IMO I feel like this genre deserves a female vocalist to eat up the slow vibes and really flex with the bendy 808s with their licks and runs. Great work!

I personally think we just find something and add it to something new or continue to evolve what’s already there and make a new lane.

Ive been trying to perfect this for months. I call it "Chill Drill". I was trying to merge dancehall and drill and its very similar to this video. The tresilo is kinda like the basis of dancehall except we use the kick and snare as well to make the beat, not just the hats so both genres already somewhat overlap. Also dancehall is around 100 bpm so i stick to 110-120 for chill drill, similar to your beat as well. Skiifall is an upcoming artist who uses these type beats and part of my inspiration to make this kind of music

With a slightly lower bpm, with the same rhythmic Drill, you come across a very popular musical genre currently in Africa called *AfroLuv* . And this genre (afroLuv) is born from another genre called *ZOUK*, which has its origins on the side of the Antilles; an island not far from France. You should give it a listen ASAP.

earlier this month i did something called future drill. i think ive invented it since ive never seen it before. basically, it's drill with a future bass super saw wub wub melody. it also uses a future bass snare instead of a short snare. thats it tho

I actually made a 120BPM Drill Beat a couple months ago, plus it also used a rage melody so I was kinda just experimenting for the fun of it, but that beat is actually my alarm so turns out I wake up to your genre every day

Yo its funny because I have a track with a client where we slowed down my drill beat to 110 as well-- I saw your video and was like yoooo this is confirmation the spirit of inspiration visits many people :). Love the mix on Everything On Me, I was just using it as a reference for the aforementioned track.
