Alrighty! I think drill is one of the most popular music genres out right now, so it's about time for it to start changing. I wanted to try my hand in making a new subgenre of drill and this is what I came up with! On top of that, I brought a couple of my favorite artists to go over these beats and drop an EP with them!
Shoutout to the artists!:

What's awesome about seeing you in the studio is your not just giving ideas to these artists. You're also showing them with your own voice. I love to see you not just making the beat but also doing songwriting. As another producer, its incredibly impressive.
Lool some of these “sub genres” already exist. The drill hat/countersnare pattern when slowed down could easily translate to Afrobeats. You can easily see this in the beat with the guitar melody. I love it though. It’s great for creativity and pushing of the genre. Great work as always Mr Servida

I always appreciate it when I see producers pushing themselves. The sound was as described and one of the hardest things to do is to not get distracted by the "vibe" and make something different from your initial goal. The songs came out great and I appreciate watching the process. All of the singers added something of their personality to the songs. IMO I feel like this genre deserves a female vocalist to eat up the slow vibes and really flex with the bendy 808s with their licks and runs. Great work!

@IdolsBeNot
Жыл бұрын
@@tyresefulks9153 You can call reach, but he has a point. It was never called Drill until the 2010’s with US Drill in Chicago and 2012 with UK Drill. Rodney Jerkins was producing similar beats with that snare pattern since the early 90’s. I think one could agree he didn’t START Drill but definitely was making Drill beats before it was ever an official thing. 💁🏾♂️

I thought about this as well. It also made me flashback to when they said a producer created rolling hi hats in early 2010s but Manny Fresh was throwing them in beats in the late 90s early 00’s. I personally think we just find something and add it to something new or continue to evolve what’s already there and make a new lane.
This definitely has been done before (Keylocc by Curly Savv is one I can think of atm) but im glad to see more people exploring it. Nicely done!
You better drop all these man! They all fyree🔥😤
yesss, I find myself doing this too often, I just love the drill-style beat and incorporating it in a slower track with diff style melodies is sick.
R&Drill - B Young Literally everything that MiSTah Kye does 4am - JBee 2:30AM - Kay9ine Deeper than drill - Ronzo Suddenly remix - WaveyAyoA1 Just to name a few... Even tho Simon mentions that he slowed the BPM wich technically explains the reason for "new genre" but I won't say that nobody ever thought of this... Still those beats slapped and I still love this channel so Im thankful for opening "slow drill" to a larger crowd ❤️

Man. You’re one of the dopest producer!! You never failed to teach something new. Thanks simon!!
Ive been trying to perfect this for months. I call it "Chill Drill". I was trying to merge dancehall and drill and its very similar to this video. The tresilo is kinda like the basis of dancehall except we use the kick and snare as well to make the beat, not just the hats so both genres already somewhat overlap. Also dancehall is around 100 bpm so i stick to 110-120 for chill drill, similar to your beat as well. Skiifall is an upcoming artist who uses these type beats and part of my inspiration to make this kind of music
