Gareth Southgate believes reaching the final of Euro 2024 is the greatest achievement of his England tenure after Ollie Watkins’ dramatic late strike set up a showdown against Spain on Sunday.
Watkins struck as extra-time loomed to secure a 2-1 win over the Netherlands after Harry Kane’s controversial first-half penalty had cancelled out Xavi Simons’ early goal.
The win means England are through to the final of a major tournament on foreign soil for the first time.
And asked where that ranked for him personally, Southgate said on ITV: “I think it has to be the best, it’s another landmark, but we played well through the game.

Robson, Venables and Hoddle all had to deal with endless negativity and criticism from incompetent fools. Southgate's tenure has been no different. The man is a legend and if you still can't accept what a great England manager he's been, you clearly have a lot of personal issues.
The penalty was very questionable. first half England was the better team . Netherlands took over in Second half but with quality up front specially Watkins you could see they can score on counters. Just before saka scored an offside goal was a warning . The defender and goalie should have never allowed that goal . Now they will be given a lesson playing football by Spain. Let’s see if they can get the ball back. It’s football and if Spain have a bad day England can win . They should go for it . If they sit back and defend they will be destroyed.

A questionable penalty? In what way. Studs up into a players leg? That's a pen all day long. You may be upset that you lost but don't make things up to make yourself feel better. Just accept the fact it was a clear penalty and there is no debate about it.

How on earth can you type all that when england lost the last euro final with a clear blatant foul on Saka and chiolini just laughed and hot of scott free.
