    6 months into this game and first season playing and I can completely agree that it’s mindset. Hit Ace and was content. Started Evo Cup 4-1 and got destroyed with 0-5,0-5 and dropped from 2125 to 1943. I know people who probably would have thrown their phone through their tv lol. Luckily I’ve watched awesome content creators such as yourself and understand that I just don’t have the skill set yet of throwing on optimal timing, counting, etc. Found a better team, learned the matchups, focused on energy management, proper time to shield and climbed back to 2115. Definitely a MUST to stay positive and keep improving! We can all get 1% better everyday at anything if we put in the effort! The breakdown of different matchups was definitely different for you but I loved it as it helps me improve. As always, I appreciate your content my man 👊🏼

    Absolutely great video. I really like the detailed breakdown of how to use a team that worked well for you. I can attest to the importance of having a good mentality while battling. Back in the early days of GBL I ran a team of sunny cherim, DD and, and skarm. It was a team indented to core break the very popular Azu/regi core. The team was fun but very weak to Awak. I went on an 11 game loosing streak because I ran into 11 awaks. I changed my team and didn’t see another awak for the rest of the day. Fast forward to when ultra premier rolled around. I was running an Abb team of siczor, gyarados, swamped. The team was designed to bait out venusaur who was the #1 Pokémon at the time. I went on another massive losing streak (12 games) and lost every single one of them because I was straight up outplayed. I realized in that moment that I’m not good enough at the game to worry about how the match making system works. Great stuff man

    Very well said Henry! I remember when I first started gbl, I would get so frustrated and lowkey was starting to believe there could be a system trying to keep my score at a certain percentage. But thanks to content creators like you I have hit legend every season since season 6. Counting moves and knowing energy helped a lot but what made me a legend/leaderboard trainer was learning move timing, I believe move timing is probably up there for trainers who want to improve. Keep up the great work Henry!

    14:54 I love those vibes, that outlook, and that perspective. And yes, there isn't some evil algorithm keeping players mired at the 2200 elo. I wish more players could emulate this mindset. Edit: One of the big reasons I unsubscribed from PokeAK's channel. He's run some entertaining content in the past, and he's had good insight on game news and events, but with a recalcitrant mentality, an unwillingness to improve, and a perpetuation in believing there is a made-up system keeping players down, I simply left.

    I definitely feel the rng at times. I'll admit to that. I've been running a team in the catch cup and I had such an unlucky streak that I had matches that were close, but went 5 or 4 losses.I then play at midnight reset and have games where I go 5 wins with some great leads (on the same team) In all honesty? I just need to play more. I've been playing since day one PoGo. I've even been playing GBL on and off. But in most cases I haven't really cared for it. I understand everything about how GBL works and know the mechanics. I just need to keep playing it and get better at said mechanics. But I'm also just terrible when it comes to doing daily content in games haha I see those 25 matches and I get tired thinking about them already. (nevermind GBL days)

    Nope! Best buddying from level 49 to 50 accomplishes the same as powering up to level 50 with xls. The main difference is that you have to have best buddy equipped for it to be 50. For solgaleo, when possible I recommend the level 51 (50 + best buddy) to guarantee cmp vs best buddy zac and some useful fire spin breakpoints!

    Thank you HSH for making that point about blind 3s. People don't gather that a blind 3v3 will encounter hard counters. No team is invincible to this. It's perfectly reasonable for someone using Zygarde that struggles with all the Master League fairies to put two fairy counters like Solgaleo and Heatran in the back. That's not a team specifically designed to beat you. That's just good teambuilding from your opponent playing to their strengths, not targeting you.

    Overall there is no difference for a 15 vs 14 in general performance but the only thing that you will struggle against is against a mirror match. The 1 IV difference in general does not impact your battles at all so it is okay to invest into a 14-14-14 if you like. Unless it is something like a 10-15-15 then you will notice many flaws but for a 1 IV difference you do not have to worry much about it.

New pvp relevant Pokemon are also added regularly. But, dude. You can't just say that the algorithm doesn't exist and then give examples of it actually working.

  • @HomeSliceHenry

    @HomeSliceHenry

    4 ай бұрын

    There is no algorithm that pairs you with hard counters. That is a fact, no matter how much people believe otherwise. Matchmaking uses an elo system, pairing players with similar elo. Over the course of a season, the goal is to separate players into skill brackets, with the best players at the highest elos. The ELO system is also used in chess. When you play against players of your similar skill level, you will win about half of your matches. So win rates even out closer to 50-55% as a season goes on. I hit 3500 elo at 54% win rate (1124 wins/2080 battles). I had a higher win rate earlier in the season vs lower skilled opponents, then when I got to my skill bracket (similarly skilled opponents), my win rate approaches closer to 50%, as I'm playing battlers of a similar level. This is how the elo system works. Go Battle League uses a blind 3s format, so luck with what leads you see is an inherent part of the game. Some days? Great luck. Other days? Poor luck. Most of the time? Somewhere in between. Is this a magical algorithm hard countering you and you only? God no. It's the randomness of blind 3s. In the long run, lead luck evens out over the course of a season. From the perspective of a creator, if we try a team and lose a lot, we are less likely to feature it, so it gives the perception that creators win a massive amount. People don't often want to see bad teams haha so those teams get discarded, and only the successful teams get featured. I've for example had a brutal run in catch cup, losing 60-70% of leads these past few days tanking from above 3500 down to 3270ish. That team? Won't make youtube, people want to see successful strategies. But in the long run? Lead luck evens out. If you focus on what's in your control (the winnable games), and keep learning counts/improving your skill, you will achieve your goals. Believing in a fictional algorithm only hurts your ability to climb, as it deflects responsibility for losing from your own plays, to a fake algorithm.

    Not sponsored or affiliated with Niantic in anyway, just a teller of the truth. No matter how much people believe in an evil algorithm, doesn't make it true. Facts don't care about feelings. Matchmaking is done using an elo system, same as chess. Does not take into account what pokemon you use. Anyone saying otherwise is either misinformed, or deliberately lying

    Today I used a interesting team in the great league and went 5 straight my opponents had no idea how to respond back. I used zangoose. Seviper. With shadow Alakazam.
