I helped my friend buy his first Adventure bike
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I've got myself a new World Raid, so I've sold the T7 to a good friend, former Australian Off-road and Enduro Champion Chris Hollis. It's the first twin-cylinder he's ever owned, so I'm helping him get to know the game of riding a 200kg+ Adventure bike!

Right?!! Makes me wanna ditch my 790 Adv r, lose some anxiety about reliability, grab a 2024 T7 Canadian 50th Anniversary Ed(just a graphics package for 50 years of Yamaha in Canada but nice!), spend the $$ where it needs it in suspension(although let's face it, an akro or pipe of some kind is a given!), and have a great bulletproof reliable adv bike that I can pack as many miles on as I want reliably as long as I take care of it. I'd miss the electronics of the 790 and the extra oomph on the road a bit for sure though. The crux of these decisions I think for most of us is how we're going to use the bike. I've always thought that the T7 is the better looker of the two too, but I think that there are plenty of opinions in either camp on that one. That's the beauty of the variety of choice we're spoiled with in the adv world, there's a bike for everybody, now let's go ride!! (says the Canadian who's in mid-winter riding his fatbike while he chomps at the bit for a spring that is way too far from now ☹️😆).

@@WeaverGr997Hey Man, I did drive the 790 Adv R and had lot of troubles. From Electronics to complete failure of the rear Brake(while offroad, downhill just before a corner) and they tried to void the warranty for some of the Problems by you know, wrong driving style, inspections not done correctly(all done by a certified KTM dealer) and such stuff. After 2 Years of trouble i went and got myself a T7 World Ride. And so far, I've never been happier with a bike. No trouble with the bike or the dealership at all. And i personaly think it's Performance and handling are far superior to the 790. Can take it to any where and trust it to bring me back. And have fun doing it. And for my part, I miss none of the electronics of the 790. I always had the impression that they only hindered me, not supported me on the Ride. But thats just my opinion. If your thinking about a T7 just go to a good dealer and take one for a few days. You're going to have quite a bit of fun. And about the 20 HP difference? The engine of the T7 runs much smother and has quite more of a kick in the lower rpm's. So if your not driving on a Highway you will barely notice the 20 HP difference. Drive safe.
Watching his body move on a bike is... Unbelievable... Smooth, fluid, instant, feeling the mass of a bike, balance shifts... Uncanny

Collected my T7 today Adam, all thanks to you. You’ve not only helped your friend buy one, but you certainly helped me buy one! Cheers chief
The thrill you experience just by watching this video is unparalleled! I can only imagine how much fun it would be to effortlessly maneuver a bike like an extension of your own limbs. 🏍✨"
Watching both of you shred the trails like that on adv bikes was awesome, but the way you caught the GoPro cuts, camera footage & drone clips in the edit made it absolutely amazing. Sick video! 🤘

Thanks Greg. I've covered some ground on dirt bikes with Hollis over the years. Just another ride with my mate really ...
That knock your mate took to his forks. There is a screw that holds the fork guard to the bottom of the leg in the casting. If that takes a knock it could break the casting. I have replaced those with plastic number plate screws. That way they shear off without damaging the casting. I have had to replace the one on the left due to that sort of knock since doing the mod. Excellent vid, makes me want to go out on mine, then I look at the frost outside . . . roll on spring here in the Northern hemisphere
Just love this video. Mates being mates, demonstrating professional skill sets ... banter, joy ... one of the biggest draws to your videos (for me) is the shear love you have for adventure ... it definitetly comes through Adam.

Thanks mate. I'm glad the World Raid handles so well and is relatively agile. I definitely don't regret moving from T7 to World Raid.
If only it was that easy for us mere mortals
Australia always delivers in Motology films. Savage. Like the riding.
I love riding my KTM 890 Rally like that. The bike is so well behaved at speed. Feels like my EXC-F. Great riding and awesome trails. Glad that last jump didn’t hide side him. 8-)

Ive walloped my 890R thru some 2 foot craters, loaded for camping, and thats when it wakes up. Thats what the suspension is set up for is hammering it. Its firm otherwise but it eats the big stuff with out any notice. It would much rather be pushed hard than timidly putting around. Typical KTM.
Don’t worry Chris you’ll get the hang of it in a coupla days. FFS what a joy to watch 2 guys who can really ride. I’ll never be that anywhere near that capable but your skills and your passion inspire me to swing a leg over my bike and enjoy the ride for what it is. 2 wheel freedom and adventure.
"definately not what I was expecting from a general adventure bike"...then ARiemann says..."Ya that but they got the formula right in the weight and the balance and the chassis geometry, if any of that is wrong they are just pigs..." For riders of this caliber to be loving these bikes to this degree.....is a testament to Yamaha
Same as me (minus the ex-national champion skillset ) . Rode bikes toured, bought a boat, sailed around for 5 years, now back to bikes. It was the latest crops of adventure bikes, the KTM 790 and Tenere T700 that really pushed the envelope and tempted me back.
Awesome raw edit mate, love the helmet audio! Even better is seeing Hollis back and on a bike.. and its a yammy again to even ha ha
Those Downhills & Ruts are scary................... These riders are skilled enough to make those bikes look good.....
Great to see the legend on the two wheels smashing a T7 first ride , great vid Adam . Nice bike you have there quality matters mate glad your onboard.
As a super tenere owner I'd love to see you put one of them through its paces. If I was gonna take off around the world I'd for sure have a 700 ❤

some quality riding there ! I wish i could do a quarter of that . Shows how capable the bike is . Thank you.
Now I want Adam to review every middleweight adventure bike out there and pick the most capable. And then repeat with the big adventure bikes.

T7 as far as the modern ones would win for what he does. Mostly because of the countershaft design and swingarm. Really helps with hill climbs and front end grip particularly at speed.

I’m bloody impressed at how well you guys ride so close to each other. If I’m riding with mates I either lead or follow at a distance. Some riders are unpredictable in the lines they use and sudden braking.
Outstanding. Wish we had the low population density that makes adventure riding so much more fun. Mr Riemann...you rock.
You both make it look too easy on the big bikes- well done, and some riding great advice, topped off with some stunning footage 😎👍
Hey! Better day already! Thank's.
Nothing better than a great bike staying within the circle. It seems Hollis is as pumped about buying it as you are selling it to him. Thanks for making the video, looking forward to more.

Awesome Riding as always!!! Insane save by Hollis @16:50. That could have gone so much worse and the suspension undoubtedly saved him.

So about 5 minutes into this vid, I realized I was staring at your ass, the whole time. I'm looking at how far you're swinging it out around corners, but laughed because it's the white pants! Makes it much easier to see. That's what I need to work on, more than anything. Thanks for these. As I look outside at the snow and -16C, these are the main thing keeping me going.
