3D Printed FLEXIBLE Prosthetic Duck Foot | 3D Printer Creates a Useful Medical Device
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Outline: This video highlights how designed and built multiple 3d printed prosthetic duck feet to help a duck walk. The duck is owned by a family friend and when the duck was just a baby, its foot was bit off by a snapping turtle leaving her with a tender stump. Therefore, I tried both simple and complex engineering solutions to ultimately land on a working solution. The majority of my prototypes were printed with PRILINE PETG (white), but the final designs were printed with flexible TPU filament. I used both my Artillery Sidewinder X1 and Ender 3 Pro 3D printers for rapid prototyping and made a total of close to 10 different prosthetic duck foot prototypes. All of which were 3d printed. Standings as a unique 3d printed medical device, it will hopefully increase the duck's quality of life as she now can walk more safely and efficiency. The fully TPU prosthetic duck foot design also enables swimming in the lake without harm of the prosthetic device or the duck. Lastly, one of the best aspects of the project was its extremely low material cost coming in below $20.

I am surprised of how much I enjoyed this video, being honest I thought I was going to be lost by the terminology but it wasn’t the case, it was super interesting and entertaining, and I loved the final result on the duck. Great job Matthew!

That was the most adorable and sweet thing I've ever seen. Keep up the great work, you've earned my sub. I'm a 3D printer so it's fun to see great uses.

Need to dust that 3d printer tho, if the dust gets in the extruder you'll get lower strength parts

I am willing to work on a prototype for you! I could 3D print you one. Go ahead and email me by clicking on the about me page on my KZread channel. It will be helpful to give me a description of the situation, some dimensions of the leg/foot, and some pictures of the ducks foot.
