    Was painful to watch... had the chain once fly off straight back from the saw... my hands were saved by the guard and my face survived because it wasn't in the way of the loose bluetooth blender...

    Yeah. Stihl saws are notorious for 4 stroking. You have to load them up so they don't do that. You can hear this saw is 4 stroking the whole time.

    ​@@josephmikaele5026this comment is going to confuse everyone. No one is going to understand, but the truth is, Stihl Chainsaw engines are overhead valve engines which run on 4 strokes. They have no crankcase oil, and run on 2 cycle gas mix, but they are technically 4 cycle engines

    If that kicks back the chain brake will definitely not engage 🫣. Even if you ARE left handed, try using it right handed, (right hand on the throttle) it might be safer. But fair play to you, because that is a fair lump of a saw to handle 💪👊

    @@scottleggejr I hear you there, but a 461 with a 28-32" bar would do the same job, and be significantly less weight. This video... it was over kill and silly lol. Heck, I have a 088 with a 48" bar, but that thing is heavy! Realistically I have no need for it, but my plan is to use it for milling in the future. If I do have to use it before then, I sure won't be pulling it out for a 12" diameter log lol.

    I’m left handed too, but I put my left hand on the wrap handle. It always made more sense to me anyway. My strong hand is supporting all of the weight and my weak hand is used for throttle control and fine movements. I’m right eye dominant, and hold a rifle right handed, again my strong hand supports the rifle and my weak hand is trigger control. Try it, but you’ve been running cross arm for so long, it probably won’t feel correct to you.

    Great saw. Good video. I've been told there isn't a left handed position for using a saw, if you ever got bad kick back it might not be pretty. Coming from a place of safety, not criticism. Peace

    Can’t believe she got it started. A lot of men have trouble with this one. I used to sell em and I had one guy who bought one and asked me to start it for him after he bought it, then said thanks and stuffed the still running saw into his car so that he didn’t have to try to start it at home

    Your hand that's in front of the break needs to be repositioned your arm needs to be behind the break if it kicks its meant to engage the break before the chain and bar reach you the longer the bar the more critical hand placement becomes

    I can’t believe how many ppl here im comments are either saying she’s doing something wrong or shouldn’t be doing what she is. Girl is a dang feller for logging outfit I think she knows the danger and what is “correct” way to hold saw but she does what’s comfortable to her and what works for her.     I just bit a 18” Troy built just because my husqvarna needed parts so while waiting I grabbed the Troy built yo real shit that thing is fantastic for the $150 with year warranty you honestly can’t beat it

    Chainsaws are right handed. Switch your right hand to the throttle and put your left foot forward and rest the power head on your upper leg with your left arm fully extended. That will get the bar further from your body and you in a better position to handle kickbacks.

    I love seeing women do traditional "men stuff" when they're actually COMPETENT at it. It's easy to yell "Girl Power!" while you're sitting on your ass, sipping a latte.     You got no problem starting it, but a cool trick is to pull the string all the way out, (slowly) then let go.
