I Have Never Seen A Star Fail Repeatedly Like This AGAIN
Спорт
Kevin Durant failed again...#nba
There were two players in my mind with the most to lose these playoffs. Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant, because for KD specifically, he’s got what he wanted, he got a winning culture on the Suns, he got the star teammates. And they were healthy. But not the result.
Kevin Durant started his career winning 4 scoring titles in his first 6 seasons, he was on path to be potentially the GOAT and after becoming the villain by joining the Warriors, what he’s done in the past 5 years has only hurt his legacy. I have never seen a player this talented fail repeatedly like this. The situation has changed, but like I said, he still has one choice remaining after all the failure, all the drama and if he takes it, there’s a chance of redemption. So I think it’s time to look at the 3 pieces on why Durant has failed, will continue to fail, and how he could fix it because otherwise, we are seeing the slow downfall of one of the greatest players in history *right in front of our very eyes.*
So when KD was done with the BS, done with the state of the Nets that he was partially responsible for, he demanded a trade 1 year after signing a 4 year contract. And the teams on his list, the Heat or Suns, two teams where he would still be the clear number 1 but also now with established cultures, two teams that had just recently been to the NBA finals.
But maybe bro didn’t realize that getting traded to a team typically means decimating their assets? So when he got traded to the Suns they were not the same team that made the finals. But that didn’t stop the entire NBA world from collectively losing their minds.
So they said let’s get Bradley Beal who has only played 58% of his games in the past 3 years.
Here are all the scoring champions in NBA history and here are all the ones that won a championship in the same year. Only 5 players since 1947 have managed to win the scoring title and NBA championship in the same year.
Including Michael Jordan 6 times…but only 11 times in over 75 years so scoring isn’t the end all.
So where do we go from here? What does Kevin Durant do?
The Suns are frustrated, because they threw their entire future for Kevin Durant. Mikhal Bridges, Cam Johnson, 4 first round picks. And it only gets worse.
To get Beal, they traded CP3, Shamet, 4 first round pick swaps and 6 second round picks. The Suns don’t have assets to make moves.
And to make matters worse, the Suns can not do anything this offseason. The Suns have $150 million committed to just Durant, Booker, and Beal. That alone is more than the total payroll of 14 other teams. Bradley Beal has a no trade clause which leaves the Suns with nothing.
But the solution is staring at KD right in the face, Piece #3. But we need to go back to 2011 to see it.
The Heat brought together the most insane, villainous big three together. LeBron, Wade, and Bosh, they were supposed to run through the league, how many rings are you going to win LeBron? They dominated until the NBA finals where it all fell apart.
But instead of blowing it up, instead of trying to add another star, the players and coach looked at themselves and how to improve. Erik Spoelstra went to Oregon college head coach Chip Kelly and learned an entire new offense that included a revolutionary idea, running Chris Bosh at the 5. It was the spread offense and Bosh worked on 3s the entire summer to add it to his arsenal to space the floor. LeBron and Wade figured out ball handling responsibilities. And went on to win 2 straight championships. *The moral of the story, teams need time to gel, but Durant hasn’t let that happen.*
Only if the players give up will this team be done. And the problem for the past 4 years has been that KD has given up on his team without even 2 full seasons in place. Durant is 35, the average age of retirement of stars is 34. I understand the need to do it quickly, but it’s not about taking accountability, it’s about giving yourself the best chance to win. We live in a world today filled with immediate gratification, with everything at our fingertips, but that approach doesn’t work for basketball. *Cut the noise and go off.*

I think the Suns needs to regroup and stick to their roster. If a fine coach came, they can bring out the full potential of their big three. Like how about Beal and Durant manage to subbing out on each other and Booker will try to handle one of his teammates at a time on the floor? How about that? Sounds crazy but you are correct regarding of KD playstyle and at his age, it's really hard to change it quickly as because it was his playstyle since he got his first NBA finals appearance. But if this is a downfall, what about Lebron?

If he finishes his career in Phoenix, it will showcase a change in his attitude and perception of his impact. 2) Join a Seattle expansion team if they have one. 3) Go back to OKC. That’s assuming they’d even want him at any point in their next few years of developing an amazing, youthful core. So considering how doubtful the other two options are. He needs to gtf off Twitter, not try and coach or influence the team, and just do the one thing we all agree we can count on, which is to just show up and play basketball. It’s the only thing about his last 7-8 years that is uncontroversial about him. You can count on him to show up and play the right way. What you can never count on him for is to be happy about it.

They didn’t know Bron couldn’t read a zone defense and couldn’t shoot when they got him in Miami. So the entire team changed around Bron cause Bron wouldn’t change. Bosh became a jump shooter - Wade, the far better scorer, became the set up man. Bron tried to have Spo fired. When the Heat couldn’t carry Bron he went back to Cleveland and made Kevin Love into exactly what Bosh was - making them both FAR worse. KD leaving OKC after blowing the lead against the Warriors and then JOINING them the following year killed my love for the game for a long time. It wasnt until 2023 that I finally came back to my OKC Thunder
Never got past 2nd rd since leaving the Warriors. Big blow on his legacy.
Fans in every sport have always had a hard time classifying players who's mentality doesn't match their talent. Fact is, and I said this after OKC lost to the Warriors in the 2016 WCF, KD is a number 2. He wants to be recognized as a #1 without the responsibility that comes with it. He wants to "just hoop" he doesn't want to LEAD.
Im glad someone talked about it
At the end of the day, post career, he’ll be set for life. A life of luxury and peace. 60% of Americans say they won’t be able to retire. KD will be fine.
Can’t really blame him for 2021, he absolutely balled out all by himself. Can’t do much more than 48 points and a game tying shot in game 7.
Being honest, KD’s time is running out BUT he did ball out this season. His stats are great.
His biggest mistake was thinking he was too good for the warriors and leaving an amazing team. Imagine how many chips they would’ve won if they stayed together. I mean he already made the choice to form a super team, why leave?? Why not stand on your decision and be a great team player regardless of what the haters were saying. Now we KNOW warriors didnt need him. Smh.
KD is a role player mindset with superstar skills
I think the only way KD saves his career is to go back to the Thunder become the Vet that Chet learns from like SGA did with CP3. They win the championship with KD as a comeback hero but only if the thunder don’t win this year if they do he’s a cupcake again
I'm always amazed at the stupidly big contracts some of the older superstars get. At what point is winning a chip more important than just stacking more money on top of your already huge pile of money? Take less on your contract, get better players around you. Every time they move teams they gut the team to do it and wonder why they suck. Realise you're not as good as you used to be and time to get a ring is running out. Maximize your chances.
This title is wild
The suns letting CP3 walk and picking up Beal was a shock. Almost as much as the sweep T-wolves dropped on them 🧹
Crazy - I don’t know how many times I gotta say KD ain’t shit before people finally catch on. KD ain’t shit lol dude needs a PR manager to make decisions for him
Love the videos bro, keep it up!
The best thing KD can do is realize that basketball is a team sport, and your teammates aren't just there to jerk off in the corner while you 1 v 9 super turbo hyper giga carry yourself into an early play off exit.
I will always be a KD fan, but I LOVE how this has made the "Warriors needed KD more" camp look so stupid. Kd and GS needed each other, but KD needed the Warriors WAAAAY more than they needed him. Its been proven over the last 4 years. That said, I hope someday I can go to a GSW game where his jersey is retired in Chase center, I still love watching him play and always root for him to go off for 40 in any game thats not against GS
Well said
Rough one for the Suns, but KD is a beast. Injuries and team fit can make a big difference. Hoping he comes back strong next season.
Does anyone still remember that comedian that roasted KD😂

Talkin bout the GM
2:41 "Respect?! ... to some people that's more important."
The 2024 Suns is the proof that just Offence doesn't win championships as KD believes. The Suns were destined to fail
I used to love the OKC KD, I was so happy he got his championships and Final MVPs with the Warriors. Then everything went a downward sprial...
That’s why I don’t trust analysts, the relationships blind them. It was clear at least to me that after he left GSW he would never lead a team anywhere but to my living room.
He can't be serious. There is no plane of existence in which Kevin Durant is even in the Top 10 of GOAT conversations. He is just NOT that guy. He never has been.
Putting 3 max contract super stars on a team and completely sacrificing the rest of the your roster just doesn't work. That's really all KD has taught us. He played on Golden State he won championships and finals MVP because they were a roster built through the draft except him. Brooklyn and Suns were just bad teams because they couldn't pay anyone else.
I cannot stress how happy I am the Heat chose not to get Beal cos of his no-trade clause.
He saw Lebron and said “I can do that” 😂
Howl my boi
I believe Larry Bird was the primary reason thar Jordan stopped trying to win games all by himself and see it as a team effort. That realization and Pippen created the dynasty.
every team kd is put on someone ends up playing bad then kd plays 48 mins shooting 100 shots a game and being expect to play like wemby, jason kidd, and kawhi, while also average 50, 50, 50
8:00 Why is this never talked about 😮 Durant slows the game down so much. GSW became boring to watch with KD because of the heavy ISO Ball .
I think he's okay. KD just needs the right combination of motivating coach and teammates. He had that with the Warriors.
How can there be an asterisk on any titles?. The man led the team to two titles that they wouldn’t have won without him,and that’s the fact
Great player that will go down as one of the greats, but he was never the same after his Achilles injury.
Phoenix gutted it's roster for KD, then overpaid for Beal. They can't construct An adequate roster with 3 max contracts & Beal getting $50mil alone.
The Suns are fucked. Durant is $51 mil against their cap next year, and $54 million the year after, and he'll be 36/37, playing on a rebuilt ACL. Oh, and if that weren't bad enough, they've also got Devin Booker for $49.3/$53.3 mil. For those of your playing our home game, the 24/25 salary cap is $141 million. What kind supporting cast do you think Phoenix can afford on $40.7 spread across 13 roster slots? So, if I'm the GM of the Suns, I'm trading Booker ASAP, for picks. He'll be 28 years old, so he's likely an attractive option for a team looking for a guy to stand in the corner for catch and shoot 3's. Then run lean for a few years and tank for some lottery picks.
Kind of comes down to lack of self awareness as a player. KD was never able to do it by himself, he’s the haymaker after a few jabs. Thats why his stats across the board went up on better efficiency on the warriors.
The mic lisp pickup is absolutely shredding my ears i cant
Keep your head up KD.❤
KD moved to the 72 win Warriors and ruined the league for 2 years. Now the karma train is catching up with him. He's built 2 superteams of his own since then and failed miserably.

You sound like a 12yr old. Stop ✋️
Suns fan here, I was against Durant for how he treated Nash then they did Bridges dirty. We should have just got a point guard for Ayton, like Lillard not overpriced broke down KD. The easiest way to find him in the playoffs was to look for the guy moving the slowest, no joke. However I always give him respect for winning a gold medal for USA basically by himself.

Oh and I don't mean to be rude but there is enough evidence to conclude.... That KD has been hurt a lot in the last 4 years.
Yup he should have just stayed with the Warriors. But when he left he taught Brooklyn with Kyrie, James Hardy, like supposed to be stack with Nash as coach and then came back sucking
2 things I really wanna see are kd just run it back another year with the suns or make his return to okc and stay with that till his career is over
Never thought I’d feel bad for KD
I don't know why ppl think scoring titles means something. Fans act like that equates to winning & it never has. Optimizing all 5 players on the court = winning. Not one player in the last 25 yrs has won a scoring title and won a championship so why give a guy who shoots alot so much credit?
