❗️Hey! hope this video was useful! I finally found a useful topic to talk about haha... KZread addiction has been a pretty big thing in my life because I'm pretty sure my brother and mother are addicted to it, and now I've been finding myself being caught up with it. Share the video your friends who you think will benefit from it! :) *OH the part where I talk about infotainment (I kind of messed up what I meant to say) --- I realize that you can still get something out of an informational video even if you're watching it for fun, but learning and applying are two different things!

I searched "KZread addiction" and the results weren't even related. Oddly enough, this was in my feed.
I am not only addicted but obsessed by KZread. I've spent over 1,000 hours on KZread since mid last year. So I'm just turning off the smartphones and computer to just get on with my life. See what I'll become.

Only 13,000 views after a year... Martin, If you read this, don't be discouraged by the low views. You've still helped as many as 13,000 people across the world overcome an addiction that I know from experience can be almost as debilitating as other addictions like drugs or porn or alcohol.

I spend my majority free time on you tube since I don't have any other social medias, like about 6 hours or more. My exams are going on in and I always thought I could just randomly stop watching youtube but I can't. Unlike other social medias I've to watch KZread for my studies itself and my freaking mind get distracted all the time. This video is like gem, idk how to express it but I'm so much grateful. Everyone saying they are addicted to other social medias like tik tok and instagram. But I'm kinda surprised youtube addictions are underrated
I constantly feel like I'm fighting with myself to shut off youtube and do other things. This internal struggle is so vivid sometimes that it feels like I'm arm wrestling(mentally) with a much stronger version of myself. Ultimately, I lose the fight and resort back to the comforting dopamine rewarding embrace of youtube. It's fascinating how the human brain can deceive and help you make excuses to get that dopamine fix. Those excuses may seem imperative at the time, but as time goes by and you realized that you've been watching it for the entire night, you KNOW something is off. Even that, I continue to repeat this process for years, as I grew even more weak to resist and kinda just gave in to the YT algorithm. No wonder I cannot achieve anything besides doing the bare minimum in life and turning on yt to seek sympathy for my bad life choices. Sad, really...
@Martin_Leung

it's never too late to keep fighting for your life (literally feels like that sometimes), you'll make it. Use KZread intentionally for things you actually need it for and find things that take priority over it (for me, I'm studying in my Master's program and spending time with my gf - running, exercising with her and also my friends).

Hows it going ? I have times where I use YT for music while doing other things. Also if I want to know how to do things its great for that. However, I have been addicted to watching crime and police interrogation at times & I hate it, its actually really bad for psyche and mental health. A huge struggle is required to resist its pull. Will be giving the distraction free tube a go. 🎉
Sometimes I don’t even notice I’m on here for hours at night. Stuff is so destructive to everyone’s normal lives if not utilized the right way. I miss how things were back then algorithms weren’t made to do this to people.

This will probably help me so much. I recognized my addictions before but I didn't want to block my use of KZread entirely because I use it for school and work. I'm incredibly impulsive and always get lost in my activities and within my head and so this extension will do wonders, thanks. It's crazy how predatory most of these content-based websites/businesses are. They're literally designed like traps. I'm able to acknowledge it and desire my "freedom" but frequently find myself rationalizing it and indulging again. Genuinely frustrating. Thanks again, I probably would not have found this extension without this video.

all g, find a new place to work (a change in environment may help, but most importantly a different way of thinking)
One thing you could do - is unplug your internet. Have an notepad document on your desktop - "Internet wants" Write down specifically what you want and when your scheduled an internet session - you take care of those things then. But to be honest - its probably best that you find something to counter youtube addiction with - since its a very common fact that addiction don't ever go away it - leads to something else; so have some activity you can do instead of youtube browsing. Hehe ; I've kinda relapsed as I had some time off and I feel almost stressed out to "have as much fun as possible" before I return to my day to day. Weird how the mind works - I'm suffering trying to entertain myself.
@yourcommander3412

Another thing , if your REALLY a goblin - like no life at all. Do this get jdownloader; download alot of youtube videos and allow yourself to just to watch those - no redownloading or anything during the week; Once you watched them - thats it. It might seem like a half measure - but it removes the feed rechecking and it can lead to a sort of gentle transition. In my case I'd download a "lets plays" of old games and such.
Thanks G
The only video I watched today and really used the knowledge was 'How to make mac&cheese'(which was a short, so like a minute long) other hours of watching was pure entertainment.

I am skeptical. KZread doesn't really give me lots of videos with ideas of how to limit or quit using KZread, naturally. First time I have ever liked and subscribed to any channel the first time I watch one of their videos. I did this intentionally to see if it can be the last. Your comments on infotainment were very insightful, it´s the only reason I convince myself KZread is worth it as opposed to other social media platforms (all of which I have deleted years ago) but KZread kind of just stuck around. Hopefully I can commit this time, I have tried several times but it has proven much harder than other platforms, mainly because of the free access even without an account.
