The banter is always soo enjoybale. The zoomed in cards and reading of the cards is great even though I know most of the cards as it keeps me on top of what is being played. The zoom also helps me with cards that I wasn't aware of that I may want to add to my decks. Keep up the great work. Easily my favorite EDH show to watch.

Yeah, I found it quite odd he was touching other people's cards all the time. If you want someone's board better organized so you can see what they have going on ask them to do it. Weird thing to do.

Not for me this week - I can get past Rule Zero'ing a black card into a Jeskai deck, but giving a taksie backie after blocks is a no-go unless Sky hadn't realised Ray could block at all.. it might seem trivial but IMO taking chances during combat is a huge part of the game so it feels a lot like cheating to re-attack when you don't get what you expect!

Wow sky is annoying. Trying to be in charge of the table. Didnt take a hot sauce shot when he took back a full attack that already was resolving. And ‘fixing’ peoples boards for them. I would have told that kid to sit down & shut up.

I might be wrong, but i believe that Sky was wrong every time he said you can't activate several activated abilities at the same time. It is just a shortcut for "I activate this ability, hold priority, activate the next ability, etc." and then everyone can respond.

The point is that you can't say "I'm going to activate this 25 times" and then it just happens all at once and that's what they were referring to. Each activation is it's own instance on the stack and players can respond to whichever activation they want

I think you technically have to allow a response for things like trickbind that prevent further activations, but trickbind and the new tishanas tidebinder are the only two I can think of with this effect, so it might not be relevant.

It just depends on what you are activating. Defiant salvager can only be activated anytime you can cast a sorcery, so you have to do them one at a time and wait for them to resolve. Sorcery speed abilities are not to common though…

That Binding Blade, even though its rule 0 was supposedly discussed, i still think is a bitnof a stretch to be allowed. There are so many Hybrid cards that share only 1 color of my decks identities that i would love to run, butni dont because that breaks the rules a little too much IMO

Yeah but the point of commander is for people to basically play with whatever home rules they want, while giving them a frame of work. I understand your point of view, and I also wouldn't run a card with another color on it's backside for my own decks, but at the same time I wouldn't keep someone from using it if they wanted. Afterall, it's just for fun :)

Legendary Double-sided cards as Commanders allow for all their colors in your identity so it feels like a double-standard not to treat them that way in the 99.

Ray has to do his each one at a time because you can only sac creatures at sorcery speed so the other triggers can't be put on the stack, lynch however doesn't have that clause on his altar so he can indeed do them all together

44:20 Skylar is actually incorrect here, because if ray wants to just sac all 20 at once, he just has to say that he’s going to hold priority to continue activating the salvager. Since the sac of the artifacts is past of the cost, if he does it this way, there is no chance for opponents to respond until all 20 are gone and then you’re left with 20 instances of target player loses one life being put onto the stack all at once.

I'll be honest until I was editing the episode, I did not noticed that he was playing a Black card in narset deck. It's easy when filming and focusing on the cards in your hand to miss what other players are doing sometimes. You just trust a lot in others to play legal cards. But the player that won the game (I don't want to spoil it) still got to win even through the extra hard work of beating an opponent that played an illegal card. Cheers to the winner right? They played only legal cards.

Great video, I'm always wondering how much effort to throw into the weapons. I've not bothered to ascend but I've put a bit into items here and there, but haven't really been across what's happening until now

Honestly. No. Sky did not tell us or ask permission in Rule 0 for that card. I was so into my cards that I didn’t notice until I was editing. But in the edit I thought it was important to state that card doesn’t belong, that it must be Rule 0 to include so we don’t confuse people. But luckily the winner of the game was still able to win against a card that shouldn’t have been played. Sometimes that might happen at a kitchen table or LGS Magic. Which I think our show still shows that real vibe. It’s easy to miss things in the heat of the moment. But when we record we learn a lot for sure.

When all the sacing was happening, no one has to resolve the triggers before sacing another permanent. The triggers will go on the stack, then, in response, you can sacrifice something else to your sac outlet. It would only have to resolved if the player with priority passed, and so did every other player in turn order from said player. For example, I can sacrifice my dockside to Razakeeth and then respond to the Razakeeth trigger by sacrificing a Kozi so my graveyard shuffles back in and I can tutor up my dockside. Once I pass priority, before all of that resolves, each player has a chance to respond to my bullshit.

Ray should use arcbound ravanger instead or as another way to sacrifice artifacts due to instant speed activation. You can then activate anytime as well as hold priority to put the sacs on the stack and then pass priority.

If you sacrifice a permanent as part of a spell or activated ability's cost, Kels's middle ability will resolve before that spell or ability.

Narset was the only creature on Sky's board when Lynch activated Priest @ about 40 mins.

Is Priest's ability a mana ability? Technically sacrifices to pay the cost put the death triggers on the stack before Fixer is able to see the mana from Priest right? So you would have to pay with lands first unless it's a mana ability.

I started playing in Strixhaven (between Strix and Kaldheim) and the golgari precon was my first precon I ever got and thought Gyome was interesting, but at the time my magic knowledge was near non-existent. Ray's Gyome is everything I wish my old ass Gyome was😂💀

Bounce off stuffy doll, brash taunter, that one red dwarf f, forgot his name, ect. 24 given to 3 players or double, triple on one. Rem karolus is an agro burn beast with enough mana, an copy/storm. 2-3+1 damage for 1 red at instant speed. My pod hates that deck.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when lynch activated his commanders ability when sacrificing his creature he was paying 2 mana when only one blue or black is needed.

Oh boy the stack, priority holds, constant sacking w/ multiple triggers... The end of this video was an absolute mess which is both the best and worst thing about this format :D

Ray doing all that artifact sacking to kill mike was just king making chrissy. I domt like when people take out 1 person and give the game to someone else.

Did Sky just say there is a priority switch after tapping a land? i dont think this is true...

So it didn't matter when Lynch used tragic slip. Priority would still get passed and he could still pump salvager up enough to survive regardless. This doesn't really change how everything played out. But saying oh I'll Slip him when he's at 13 toughness doesn't matter cause he can just respond, as he did, by continuing his same play line. Shoulda held onto the Tragic Slip.

Priest allows him to decide "which" opponents will sac a creature, so he did not choose his wife on that one.

May be a weird comment but Lynch's wife should do ASMR. She has a very calm voice. On a game note I felt the pain of tutoring for mana. It sucks cause I want to use the tutor to find the cool things in my deck instead if rocks or lands.

I think Ray should’ve been able to kill Lynch and Sky. Lynch sacked baleful strix to stay alive but it’s an artifact creature. Triggers Rays creature effectively still killing Lynch.

I dont think u can sacrifice for kells ability and the other card at once just cuz u paid a colorless.

You do that through out this entire game. How did Sky at the least not catch onto it lol I think he just didn't wanna call it out. But yeah you are misplaying it with your entire board. Look where the colon is on cards. Anything before it is a requirement for that ability and that ability alone.

Sky is extremely obnoxious and all touchy on everyones cards and triggers. Would not play in a group with him at all.

Krissie's face at 24:53 listening to Sky try to take-back an attack after blockers are declared was how I was feeling the entire time he read a the card in Spanish, which was an annoying, attention-grabbing, waste of time. Have fun with the game but cheating (take-back after blockers declared) and trying to take-over Lynch's triggers.... Made the video pretty hard to watch.

I dread when Sky is on, he doesn’t match the vibe of the show. The episode wasn’t enjoyable towards the end with him. I almost didn’t watch and unfortunately will not watch anymore he’s going to be in.

He's enjoyable most of the time. This was a very annoying game out of him. He seemed like he was pressing, trying to do too much. I was annoyed at him at first, but overall I enjoy him. We all have those days. He's a good dude I think, just tries too hard sometimes.

Sky, man... let people run their turns lol If there are mess-ups, sure, jump in to correct, but grabbing/touching/moving folks' cards and talking over everyone to narrate what they are already starting to talk about is oppressive to the table and viewer's experience. Basically feels like I just watched one dude play 4 decks against himself.

Fucking hell Sky is so annoying. He’s so wrong on the triggers and why is he touching everyone else’s board. Dude needs to stay in his damn lane.
