I was watching this on my TV, and I just pulled it up on my phone specifically so that I could tell you guys how much I adore the Takesie Backsies Counter concept and I will be using it in my playgroup going forward!

@@naitsab_33 you can’t proliferate. Think of it more like an emblem. Yes of you get three of them you lose no mater what. It’s a replacement effect.

Konrad does not see his own death, not because of the rule change, but because his rules wording is "Whenever another creature dies"

I just bought Konrad last night and I was going to comment the same thing. 👍

Just an editing tip that would help people like myself out: Try to keep the cards that you display out maybe half a second or second longer. Some seem to disappear so quickly that I have to rewind and pause to catch.

I see where you're coming from I didn't enjoy how some cards weren't shown at all but I feel as if the editor aimed to focus more on the conversations around each card rather than showing the cards for longer than needed.

Been wanting to say this for a while now, but I'm going through the old episodes and wasn't sure where to post it. When I watch any MTG video, I pause to read every card that I am not familiar with (and admire the art etc.) and most of these go by too quickly for me to be able to pause in time.

Well this was less one-sided than the last two episodes. Each deck got to do a good turn at least once this game.

That Eldrazi mat is the coolest thing I have ever seen on this show.

This has been my favorite episode so far! Lots of fun interaction and banter, really enjoyed it!

@@allterraincapybara6749 Nah, it counts all graveyards only for creatures going INTO the graveyard. The LEAVING the graveyard trigger only counts the Syr Konrad player's graveyard.

20:53 Pretty sure Konrad also triggers on creatures leaving the graveyard. Bojuka Bog probably should have really hurt there.

@@sebastianllosa1 not really, man. Die triggers changed for commanders a while ago, you can check the rules. My point is that Syr Konrad's text literally says "Whenever ANOTHER creature dies", that's what I meant with doesn't trigger for himself. Cheers.

@@kokoricoh He was annoying in the first episode. He's actually alright here. In fact you can argue this game wouldn't have been as much fun to watch as it ended up being if it weren't for his orb and muse mill cards.

Even with the audio only being in my left ear, this is still one of the entertaining games I've ever seen.

"Hi you see your first problem was you picked the trash player to do it, and you didn't get the MVP"-Jeremy "Look at my board state"-Evan LMAO that was gold

When you mill with Gitrog you have to wait for all the ability to resolve, and then after this, if one or more lands hits the graveyard, draw a card. The milling trigger is one instance that you can't interrupt..... "Whenever one or more land cards are put into your graveyard from anywhere, draw a card."

While this is correct, it is notable that Mesmeric Orb creates a separate trigger for each untapping permanent. Dreamborn Muse has one large trigger, but Mesmeric Orb is going to create six (or however many) individual triggers, which means those were played correctly. Not sure if there was another mass mill that I missed that was handled wrong.

As Kestral said, based off what I saw and how he sequenced them he drew correctly based of the individual triggers. He put the first four all in at once because he knew he would only get one trigger off of it no matter how many he saw enter. Then he did it individually for each mesmeric orb trigger.

The banter during this game had the perfect balance of salt and humor

When the Gitrog player plays bojuka bog, exiting Jeremy's graveyard, Syr Konrad should see that as the creatures leave the graveyard into exile, hitting everyone for those triggers. I think?

Being exiled from the graveyard counts as "leaving" because it's a change in zones, he would trigger for the bog effect. Even tokens trigger this since they hit the graveyard first, then get immediately exiled. You can play Morality Shift with Syr Konrad out and just instantly win.

The milling was great! I've never seen so much of EVERY deck on the table! ... out of context: mono black is just the best ever!

This is great! Close game where I legitimately kept changing who I thought was going to win. I know a lot of EDH decks can turn into solitaire but this match turned out awesomely. Keep up the content guys! That Ur deck is the underdog that I just want to see win once lol.

Gotta admit this might be my favorite match I've seen, really fun turn of events.

Not that it really affected the outcome of the game, as your Haunt of Hightower was well past lethal anyway, but, worth noting that Syr Konrad does say "another creature" so he does not count himself when he dies.

I was so good about only putting them on for other graveyards, but I messed up That one time adding 2 +1 counters. But as you said. I was still beyond lethal. But what everyone missed including myself, “whenever Haunt attacks defending player discards a card.” I missed that trigger too, every time it attacked. Even when Jeremy unsummoned it. I missed it multiple times. That would have helped. Big human error mistake. But I’ll try to be better in the future!

Fantastic! Feels like my playgroup sitting around friendly roasting each other!

But we both missed when it attacks defending player discards a card!! I missed that multiple times!!!! But only once that entire game did I accidentally add 2 +1 counter for two creature hitting my graveyard. It was 3am while shooting. I’m human. Made one mistake. But the real mistake was forgetting to make defending player discards on attack trigger!!!!

This game was infinitely more fun to watch than that solitaire game in episode 2. I love the back and forth and getting to see each deck have a moment to shine.

Sooo Syr Konrad triggers for the tokens not because they hit the graveyard, but because they die. Also, Syr Konrad does not trigger on his own death because the text says "another creature" (and he enters the graveyard from the battlefield, thus not triggering the second part of his text)

"Dying" in Magic means going the graveyard. Tokens go to the graveyard then cease to exist.

@@loganhoppe7234 I was shook, at first, when the Gitrog player lost the game because of decking (for a second I thought the last card in the deck was the shuffler itself!). But, obviously, it's a different deck from the usual Gitrog Dredge you see at cEDH tables: Exploration, additional lands cantrips, Zuran Orb, Field of the Dead, are not cards you see in 2 Titans or 1 Titan + Gaea's Blessing versions of the deck. I think it was refreshing seeing another take on the Frog Savior and they did a good job piloting it; also, I think this is more suited for the pod they were playing at.

@@loganhoppe7234 I do realize it's "weird" not having a shuffler in a Gitrog deck but, given the presence of Splendid Reclamation (which means you really wanna keep your graveyard where it is), again, I don't think I would consider the deck a usual Gitrog deck :D

Loving these uploads guys and can tell Michael is getting more comfortable in front of the camera. Keep it up! I’d love to see either Nekusar or Yuriko, my personal favorite commanders sometime in the future!

I absolutely loves this game! I got to see three of my favorite decks. I have a Muldrotha deck as well and is my favorite commander. I'd say that Mesmeric Orb was the mvp of this game it did so much lol! A commander in would love to see next game would be a Chulane teller of tales because he can be a I really hate your deck lol!.

This was such a fun game to watch! I'm new to the channel and *so* glad that this was my first video, especially as someone who's played with three of these decks myself. I'll definitely be watching more! I do think I found a gameplay error in this one, though. If I'm watching correctly, at 18:07, Konrad comes into play. Then, at 20:50, with Konrad still in play, Jeremy's graveyard is exiled, which means several creatures left it , and Konrad would've triggered. I don't know how many creatures were in that graveyard at the time, but it almost certainly would've made a significant impact on the game (maybe not its end result, but at least how it got there). If I missed something, let me know!

Damage stax threatens to progress the game with damage rather than threatening to stop the game from progressing, i like it! I built enchantment-damage-Torbran a while ago with a similar style

Orb put in so much work

Field of the dead triggers only respond to lands with different names, so the additional basics wouldn't trigger. Also casting duress off cavern of souls, in the same turn!

Actually it wouldn't have triggered anything, for creatures leaving the GY, Konrad only triggers when they leave your GY.

The first 6 episodes we struggled with audio. 7-18 it should sound a lot better. Hopefully you can still enjoy them. Episode 4 drops March 5th.

Luckily, the two triggers they mistakenly had off syr konrad dying made no difference as the haunt had enough counters on it to do enough damage anyway

Konrad only looks at creature cards leaving YOUR graveyard. So the bog hitting Jeremy does nothing for Konrad.

Hey, thats a pretty good idea at 11:27 with the Manacards and dice to help you count the floating mana. There are such little simple tricks to help understand the moves better for you and the others. The same is putting something (Coin etc) on top of the library to not miss an upkeep trigger. Its simple but helpful. (Thanks to the prof for this wise advise)
