I would love to see an I Hate My Deck Christmas special where everyone builds an obnoxiously bad deck for each other secret Santa style. Who ever builds the deck for you explains what it’s doing turn zero and may the best worse deck win.

i love that almost every time rachel was on the show, she cheated her way to a victory

There was a severe missplay at the end, as Rachel was no longer using selvala to gain life resulting in the infinite hippos killing her with their etb from corpse knight

There was a LOT of misplays but oh well, lol! It kinda all went to shit when he messed up on getting Kiki into play. Also I don't know why he discarded Blightsteel instead of literally anything with an ETB trigger that he could make a copy of with Feldon and then make infinite copies of with Kiki but... yknow...

I love Rachel's game. She brings some spicy decks to the table. Cassius and Kyle bring spice too, but it's mostly just borderline CEDH decks. Rachel finds interesting synergies and non-standard lines of play that just wreck people.

Except the missplays. :( She couldn't have done half of how she "won". Treetop didn't have haste. She didn't have infinite mana, and couldn't continue making the hippos using it because once it was made into a creature it could no longer tap for mana. She couldn't swing it to take out lynch. And the biggest misplay was playing intruder alarm against a feldon deck.

So Joseph actually won but everyone was so mind-flooded that they didn’t realize. Fun match anyways.

Was at my LGS last night and we had a guy that wanted to test a new deck (with some spice), so we talked i mentioned i could equip a few players with the enough armor if we needed to help him try it out, but we had the convo... Managed to pull a win, but their stax had me locked for most of the game, we had a discussion after the game which i thought was equally helpful to discuss how he could help improve the deck possibly. The rule 0 conversation is as important as the game itself, as is a recap conversation to help learn from mistakes or complicated board states.

Rachel is an absolute joy to watch! Always excited to see her on IHYD

This was a great episode. Went from a relatively straight forward game, to a totally bonkers and complicated board state, to a hilarious finish. Also, love the longer-ish episodes and the content.

Aaron also had his own loop with Kiki-Jiki. The intruder alarm counts any creature, so kiki's clones untap everything

That's right. But I guess Rachel could have responded to the etb trigger with using her Selvala. Which would have then untapped Kiki because a new Hippo etbs. That would make the stack infinitely big. I imagine they decided to let Aaron resolve his etbs without Rachel interrupting.

Angel's trumpet taps all of the creatures you didn't attack with. Also I don't think her mana is infinite? I'm pretty sure she messed up a whole mess of stuff on that long turn.

Yeah, she was tapping the creature land for 1 green and paying the 1 green for the hippo but saying she then had infinite mana

Rachel's combo didn't work I think. She taps the Treetop for a green, gives Jo a Hippo and untaps. This is mana neutral and drains her for one with Jo's knight.....

I do love the back and forth banter and all the fun being had at the table. It reinforces the opening statement from Lynch that he loves playing paper magic with his friends. @23:37 pretty sure a lot happened incorrectly here. Dockside has a cmc of 2, so the welder couldn’t have been hit by lukka’s -2 since it’s a lower cmc than dockside. Additionally he didn’t copy the activation of lukka with rings!! Edit: aight they did catch the lukka misplay, still sucks that he wasn’t using rings to it’s maximum potential tho

I love that they read the card's ability. Makes it easier to understand the card, otherwise I usually need to pause the video.

I really enjoy all your games and this channel in general. Keep up the great work Joe and Lynch! :) Also, while people have pointed out the infinite mana misplay, every dockside worker and shell would also have been hitting them all, too.

I don’t have much to say other than I am posting for the algorithm and that we love Rachel Weeks.

I’m just imagining a hippo equipping a sword of feast and famine . I would wanna get out of a hippos way , but if it’s wielding swords I’d definitely keep my distance!

"She's going to overload my mind with too many options to stop me playing" was so dang relatable as someone who ropes every turn on MTGA. Some poor fool sent me a wishclaw talisman once and I used all 3 of my timeouts...

Pretty awesome to see the hippo get some love. I remember just being mesmerized by it (and its inside joke) since it came out, but don't think I ever played or saw it played. I'd hate that deck, too, if I were at the table.

The hippo is sweet, ut this just got into a mess this time, unfortunately. Should be built so that if you combo off, it should straight out win. I play it, and most people like playing against it.

Haven’t even watched the episode yet and I already know I want the phelddagrif deck to win.

@@chrisgebben2043 she stopped using selvala and then spent like 30 mana worth of the mana neutral "infinite" green mana so all those cards she casted instead of ending her turn were all cheats meaning yea she loses on take backs and illegal casts.

POSSIBLE SPOILER: In the last few minutes of the game wouldn't Joe's Corpse Knight have won him the game when Rachael gave him all of the elephant tokens? o:

@@Atron420 yep, she very much actually lost this game to either burn or deck out. also she did not make infinite mana because the dork only makes 1 mana that is then used to make the hippo putting her at 0 again. so after she killed AD and lynch she had nothing else she could do other then slevala parley and deck out.

I hope Rachel's deck has a Solitary Confinement in it, as that would be the perfect card for defense. She is already skipping her draw step and adding a ton of cards to her hand through other means, and Solitary means that she can't be hurt by the creatures she gives others, and isn't susceptible to things that target players like hand disruption; Sandworm Convergence would share this, but costs MUCH more. Similarly, Suture Priest would be a pretty scary offensive tool in the deck,

Although she wouldn't be damaged by the creatures She gives others, if someone (like Joseph for example) had a Corpse Knight out, she'd still take the damage since it wouldn't be her 'hippos' dealing it. Surprised there wasn't a Platinum Angel in her deck; that would definitely have helped her though. (since you can have negative life with PA.)

Suture priest doesn't work with Keruga's companion rules as it's 2MV unfortunately, but it is a sweet card to add if Rachel wasn't running Keruga

Loved it. Rachel and Aaron are amazing guests. Just buckets of fun.

I'm sorry folks, in the end I didnt understand what caused all the triggers and endless combos, the game somehow lost me in the second half, one or two more explanations would have been helpful ^^°

Intruder Alarm untap all creatures when a creature enters the battlefield. Selvala taps for mana, spend that mana to make a creature token to untap Selvala and repeat. Also, Kiki-Jiki taps to make a token copy of any creature. This untaps Kiki, infinite loop ensues.

Yes. The lifegain was balancing it out when she was using selvala. The land was also breaking even as the green it generated was used for the hippo, there was no infinite mana loop.

When Hippos started coming in, untapping EVERY creature, every single time, Feldon should have responded by copying two Dockside from the graveyard, then making two more with Kiki, gaining a net 37 treasures every time. Lol.

I might go to Cassius's shop sometime in the future. I'm looking to grab some nasty nasty decks in mtg. Also saw some Pokemon so hopefully can find some collectibles I'm hunting to put on my wall.

my ocd is triggered by the hippo being tapped trough all the intruder alarm loop and the fun is that should have never being tapped in the first Place because of the artifact xD

Angel's Trumpet taps creates that did not attack as well; which is something to keep in mind on the last turn

AD described how his brain gets overwhelmed which is great, cuz you can't convince me that he had no way to get rid of the clone shell he needed to make a creature come on board that could stop all this. I saw one Clone Shell was a Molten Primordial which could take the Corpse Knight, Sevala or Hippogryf. With Inf Treasures Id have to assume there was a sac card, dmg card something to get rid of Shells and there has to be a creature that could do dmg or get a Instant Blaze-like spell or something. Really wish I could see the decklist

Conclusion of this episode: Primus- Too many hippos

Hilarious game, misplays and all lol. Felt like a real tabletop game!

I would love to see a Zedruu deck , or a GroupHug kinda deck, those are tons of fun :)

@23:48 Aaron needed to keep revealing cards there. The token of Dockside is a 2 CMC creature and Lukka's -2 says : "Exile target creature you control, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a creature card with ***higher mana value***. Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order."

Gosh! I love Rachel's plays! that was amazing!

I do love Feldon, but you KNOW I gotta root for my hungry hungry hippo Phelddagrif!

So happy Rachel got another win. Even with play errors. It was good game.
