Curious what you could get profitability wise if you had a chia setup that has a similar power consumption as a powerful bit coin asic.

I got out of mining in 2022 spring. Wondering if there still is anything else left to pursue. I have one hnt miner but that’s it. This option is kinda like it low profile and low electric cost . I may look into it

Great video RPM. Break it open ! I do not have one of these, but I about 400TB farming Chia currently. GPU plotting will be really good. Prior to Chia, I mined BitcoinHD, and it used GPU's to plot. It was WAY faster.

Rpm. What is the life expectancy of the evergreen hardrives? I want to buy one but after the 6 month warranty I don't want to buy a new drive if it fails. Plotting the drives seems to be a bit complicated. Any recommendations on plotting drives cheaply diy?

Wow, love the red Chia miner. Did they brand it "Ever Red" for you?!? I was super into Chia when it first came out, but when my 100TB was shadowed by Exobytes of storage on the network, I just lost interest. Might look back into it now with the RAM and GPU plotting methods out there now.

My starter kit was beginning, then it began to fail. Then before it failed, bought one of their expansion drives. So now that I have some time to try and figure it out.. I have a phone support appt in 30 minutes. This is after they've sent me at 2 different times, a preformatted SD card. Have been on the discord with them.. but haven't been getting anywhere fast. I think the hub is bad.. but we'll see.

Have you ever mined Filecoin?

How long does the ssd lasts in these before being worn out ?

I think you can plot arround 150+- tb before ssd wears out

Those are convenient, but it is far more economical to build a farming rig than to buy those individual boxes for people wanting to farm more than 1 or 2 hard drives.

Been farming Chia consistently with 1 PiB, here's hoping it pumps! Those evergreen miners are pretty neat, building out a large farm can get pretty complex if people aren't familiar with running JBOD's.

the evergreen boxes are pretty good if you dont have to pay for them... Pro tip for chia mining all you need is a harddrive. No fancy plotting pc, no app, no overpriced box. dont get ripped off guys. Good video about a sub par product.

Hey RPM, I ordered from evergreen almost 5 weeks ago, haven’t heard a thing and Dylan won’t respond to email. Any idea what’s going on?

It's cheaper to buy the CHIA coins (if you believe in it - I don't) then to setup mining. It's just not cost effective even if you have free electricity.

Panda, I'm from a slightly older generation, and I must say just how COOL it is see how being able mine crypto and make enough money so that you can have the time to do these videos and experiment with new opportunities! When I was a kid the internet didn't even exist! I'm so proud of you crypto kids. I do a bit of cpu mining and I have a jasminer 1u. It's all so amazing.

I had to replace the Fans on my Evergreen Miner Unit. The 2 little minifans in there had bad bearings. But other than that, been a good experience overall!

Red Panda Mining that’s truly awesome they made you a custom color version, will they make more in that color? also I would have like you to add in your video buying the coin vs mining, because if you buy $300 of XCH today that’s over 6.25 XCH vs how long it would take that same $300 starter kit would earn in XCH over one year. So base on your setup that’s 1.4 XCH per year, it would take over 4-5 years to earn 6.25 XCH and in XCH moon in 1-3 years from now anyone that purchased XCH world earn 2-6x more than mining it!

@@user-vi5vd3ty9d yeah that’s crazy man spending $3.5+k to earn $60 per month, if everything stay the same thats $60 per month x 60 months or 5 years to = $3.6k, buying $3.5k in XCH iMO is a better option as you’ll have over 77 XCH and the moment XCH moon you already have the coins thus gain instantly from the moon vs mining for 5 years to earn 77 XCH .. now if you get the starter kit for free then yes it’s well worth it as it’s free and used little to no electric.

Why not take that rig and do Threefold? No potential for future growth?

This sounds great if they could just sell the shell boxes and I could pop my own drives in it. Unfortunately opportunity was missed.

Interesting video on, chia. Need to look at long term probabilities before investing, at current ROI it looks at least a couple or more years to recoup investment if market doesn't go up.

Just buy it at this point, my guy. Some stuff is just to be purchased and not mined. Spend what you'd spend on the miner on buying CHIA. Come on now.

all depend on how much you pay for the hard drive, most of the chia miners spend around $10 for 1T average, for them the ROI is less than 2 years

Started 6 months ago up to 250 TIB on one farming rig with the help of selling some GPUs and using the motherboard hardware from mining.

Currently ROI will be 10 years?

I solo mined blocks back when they were $1600 per with only 100 terabytes. Those were the days.

The name cracks me up though, "Evergreen" for me always computes with the very famous shipping container company lol The only thing i don't like with that project is the fact that "EVG OS" is not really open-source, i hope there is no back-door within the app :/

That's the problem. It will never go up to ATH because of 21M pre mined Chia which is the main reason it's price crashed when Cohen explained in his interview. I mined few Chia when it launched. It's a dead project and people are just hoping it will pump, but 21M pre-mined chia will be dumped for profits and it will basically kill the coin.

Basically I would buy at least 2 up to 3 chia hdd, tinker around, maybe learn how to make your own chia later on. It should not be that hard. Also it is the best time to hop on the train, you will never know, but don;t be like those crazy investors, that buy only 1 stock with 100% of money... I would say play like a child, a little bit here, a little bit there, learn something new. I would say investing into learning is the best investment, instead of buying courses can you learn from this chia miner? Is the lesson worth few hundred dollars? Also what I love about the lesson you instantly start to get a return, you don;t need to find a job based on the lesson alone, it will become a additional self improvement project.

That gpu took an insult... But everybody feels you, unless eth becomes proof of work again, than gpu minning will be profitable again..

Blame the scalpers and the chip shortages for lack of supply. We're using them in a legitimate product.

Highest market cap of Chia coin ever was around $550m which was a few days after launch in May 2021.. Once BTC crashed in May 2021 the coin followed, however when BTC recovered and smashed new ATH, Chia coin was recording All time lows.. Now current market cap is around $290m. Even if BTC goes on a rampage again, I do not see this coin crossing $1bn because it has almost no real utility, no demand and people who mine will constantly dump creating selling pressure.. Even if by chance it does hit $1bn and the amount of coins in circulation is the same as it is today, the highest price of the coin at next bull market will be $153 or less. Meaning around a 3.4x pump (1bn/290m). Using a potential sell price of $700 is misleading in my opinion.

600TB here but like，I think evergreen is very stupid in terms of efficiency but it serves a good entry point for people

At $399 USD for a 12TB starter kit, only making $0.17 a day, not including the electrical cost, would take you almost 6.5 years to ROI on this. Defiantly NOT worth it!

The way to maximize ROI is to ensure most of the spend is in HDD over everything else. The PRO kit has the best ROI since only 8% of the spend is in anything other than space. The 12TB is a good place to start, more space can be added over time improving the ROI.

@@ZaPpaul 1 PiB and im starting on my second PiB now. Just got 2x Supermicro 36-bay rackmount servers. All 16TB drives. Each Supermicro holds approx 0.5PiB.

lets say, if i wanna buy worth 2000dollars chia coin , and if its gonna be 780 dollars again. so if i pay 2000dolars right now i will buy 43 chia coins . if its gonna be 780 dollars so i will have 33000 dollars. i think its better to buy coin right now. not hardware... its just a idea not advice

Lol so at $542 plus tax and shipping for 12TB of storage you're looking at about a 7 year ROI and I'm being extremely generous with that calculation and not even subtracting the energy costs. And that's also not accounting for the massive growth in the mainnet that we are about to see with the new GPU gigahorse plotting that Mad Max just released that allows K32 plots to be completed in literally 14 seconds. There's definitely a lot of money being made on these things but it sure as hell won't be the poor consumers that bought these things and would have to keep them connected and farming 24/7 for the next 7-10 years to even break even. This is the kinda BS that is allowing the government to justify enacting more regulations on cryptos because there's always a company like this praying on the ignorance of the general public and there's always an influencer they can pay off who has enough followers to allow them to directly market it to hundreds of thousands of people who just happen to be the perfect demographic to market it to.
